They replied on May 31, 2024 saying the part was backordered even though there was no indication on their web site. I cancelled my order on June 10, 2024, however they emailed me on June 12, 2024 saying the part had shipped. I phoned on June 14, 2024 to complain that I had already cancelled the order, but they couldn't stop the order even after two days notice. Status also shows - 'hasn't left warehouse'. Alley and eventually spoke to CS rep who asked if I'd ever ordered anything on the internet before? I asked to cancel order and she said she would email the cancellation department.... Huh?? She's customer service.... Hit the 'cancel order' button. I was looking to replace a broken Frigidaire Refrigerator Dispenser Cover in the color gray /grey which matches my stainless steel refrigerator. I'd seen this offered by Sears PartsDirect and made my first order online with no assistance necessary. The part # is 242089602 and clearly in the advertised description heading, the color indicated is gray. When I received the item, the color was BLACK which clearly is not indicated in the titled heading. In contacting Sears PartsDirect via online chat, I'd indicated to the individual assisting me that what I received is not what I'd ordered. After much bally-who, this individual indicated that they'd place another order for me with the correct color. I also received the UPS shipping label to return the incorrect part. When I received the second order for the same Refrigerator Dispenser Cover, again, what I received was in the color BLACK and not the color gray. In speaking with yet another representative via online chat, I was told that I'd need to contact Frigidaire directly as Sears PartsDirect is receiving their parts directly from them. I was provided with Frigidaire's telephone number and advised that they'd be able to assist me further. I received yet another UPS shipping label to return the 2nd incorrect part. Upon contacting Frigidaire and providing the model # of my fridge, the customer service person indicated that the manufacturer no longer produces the gray color of the refrigerator dispenser cover and if this part is needed, one option suggested is that the person looking to source same will need to look on eBay to "perhaps find" the replacement item there. After two occasions with trying Sears PartsDirect, this is in essence what I wound up having to do and was much more successful in that endeavor. Now to the two returns which was necessitated. The issue which I took "exception" to is the flimsy and smallish box which this dispenser cover was delivered to me. The first box I received was "damaged". This part I'd describe as very delicate as it's a molded plastic. The return instructions received essentially advises the return sender that "you" must make the effort to ensure that the part which you are returning is not subsequently damaged. Although I did receive a credit for the cost of the two items itself once the UPS labels were scanned as part of the initiation of the return process, the shipping costs were not refunded to me and as a matter of fact, it wound up costing me additional monies to purchase larger sized boxes to enclose the two incorrect items which were sent to me in a flimsy box to begin with so that there would be no "issues" as to how these items were received back to the sender. Worst Experience Ever. Four months ago, I ordered a motor control unit for my treadmill. When I received the part, I contacted SPD to have a repair tech come to my house to install the part and synchronize my machine. After paying the tech $175 on top of the purchase of the part, the machine failed to work 2 days later. I contacted the Tech, he requested that I reopen the job with the repair dept. Later they sent a different Tech to my house, after I received another replacement part. That part also did not fix my problem. Over the 4 month period, I've had over 15 scheduled appointments (most cancelled because the part was not received and in a few cases not ordered by the Tech) . After both Techs had assessed and replaced new parts on my treadmill several times, they both determined that the parts they were receiving from SPD were coming from a 3rd Party Vendor and not compatible with my treadmill. They stated the parts needed to be ordered from the manufacturer (Proform). For the past month, the Repair Dept keeps telling me the Techs have to order the part from Proform and the Techs keep telling me that the SPD App on their phones will only allow them to order the same part from the same 3rd Party Vendor. I've asked to speak with a manager several times only to be told they (customer service) had no way of linking me up with a manager. So after spending nearly $400, fours months of repair appointments, over 25 phone calls to SPD, I still have no operational treadmill. I have never, ever dealt with a company as sorry as this one. No wonder SPD is not accredited by the BBB. I wish I had read all of these negative reviews before I invested my time and money in this sorry a** company. This 'business' is a scam out of what appears to be India. The parts you order may or may not be the right parts and they charge highway robbery amounts for shipping. Example: Two 1/4 inch nuts were over $12.00 and shipping was the same, $24.00 total. The two bolts that were ordered for the nuts, never arrived. They credited back the amounts for the bolts, but not the shipping. I had to reorder the bolts and they tried to charge again for shipping, after they said there would be no additional charge. Ordered a new control board for my washer, and a water inlet valve. They first charged my card under a different first and last name of a person that I don't know under the "billing address", then my first name and the strangers last name for the "ship to". I cancelled that order when I saw the confirmation email with the random names, but I ended up with two water inlet valves in two different boxes. The control board still hasn't shipped and it's been 14 days. It said it was in stock when I ordered it, and it said the arrival date was 3 days after I ordered it. I've called a few times, and they keep saying they will ship it out that same day, but it never happens. I don't know if I'll ever get the part. 7 years ago I bought a $400 glass rangetop replacement from Sears Parts Direct. It was a nightmare... never again, or so I said .... I had to fight for many weeks to finally get them to ship a rangetop. Finally we got it and thankfully it was the correct one. But they had my money hostage for the longest time.. like 8 weeks! Turn the page.... and over a week ago I had amnesia and somehow ordered a washer timer from them. Long story short ... of course they immediately took my payment ... they do THAT vert well . That's the only thing they do well. I called a week later and they tell me they are unable to find that particular timer in stock when I literally just ordered the timer off the website which said, "IN STOCK".!! If it was possible to leave less than one star rating I would. I needed a part for a Samsung French Door Refrigerator, and they had it at a reasonable price, but shipping was a bit pricey. I ordered on October 6th with delivery listed as October 10th. The web site listed order status daily as In Progress... The 10th of October passed and no part arrived and status continued to show as in progress. On October 17th I contacted customer support through web site chat, and explained I had to order from another source to get the part and complete repair. I sent part back and received message that a refund was processed for amount of $38.88 - my original charge was $39.86 for the part and tax PLUS $12.99 in shipping... Still waiting to see that refund credit back. There should be a special place in Hell reserved for whomever manages whats left of the shattered shell of the Sears name.
