Very helpful, explains everything in layman terms, and even shows you some key areas they look for. 2. The equipment is the latest. Awesome. 3. People in the store are very nice and professional. They know their stuff. 4. The glasses selection is solid, lots of options for women, men however... Miss 1. Men's glasses options. It's really limited compared to the women's options. And the brands, some offer really cool frames and modern ones, but at the eye center they are rarely there. I bought Dragon frames for my computer usage (recommend a separate glasses for that) and while they were hip, the really cool, latest and modern were not at the store. Ditto for many of their providers. You can't find a place in Tucson that offers this type of Eyewear. Bummer. You decide 1. It's pricey compared to LensCrafters, but the quality of the lens, frames and other items are better If you have vision insurance you will save here. If you are buying sunglasses please note thst many vision plans will not work with them. The most expensive Eyewear I bought there with progressive was Maui Jim sunglasses. I love them, but they are not cheap. The other frames were Dragon and Mont Blanc, blue ones which rock. Lastly this place is in a very busy shopping strip with a whole foods. There is plenty of parking on the other side of the bldg.

Visited for a Contact Lens exam and was through the initial stages (Air Puff Test and focus test)…read morevery quickly and was attended to by Dr. Tetrault, who was very attentive and answered all of my questions about contact lenses (I have never worn them before). During this time, I was told that the office would receive trial lenses and we would determine what would be the best fit and I would undergo a tutorial to learn how to best wear them. I was then sent to another member of their office staff. Despite my indicating that I had never worn contacts before, I was repeatedly asked how large of a supply that I wanted, which showed me that either instructions weren't being read or the person assisting me didn't care. I paid my copay and left, being told I'd be given a call to schedule the tutorial and pickup. Flash forward about a week later (August 28th), when I received a text message indicating that my contacts were ready for pickup. However I had not received a call to set up my tutorial, so I reached out to the office. An extremely nice person picked up the phone and happily took a message but advised me that only one person at the office could do the tutorial for contacts and that I would get a call back. As of today, I haven't received a call back from the office. Understandably, they may be busy but if I don't receive a call back by Friday, I'll probably just go the YouTube route and take my chances.

I have been a loyal patient for decades. I will never return. I went in for exam contacts and…read moreglasses this year and the contacts portion was fine but the glasses prescribed were unwearable due to incorrect prescription. I could not open my eyes with them on. They did not do a thorough exam to correct it and I was handed a slightly reduced prescription and they re-did the glasses. They still were too strong. I did my own research in my prescription history there to try and get something in between my prior glasses and the new prescription--a middle ground1- and was ultimately told they would not rewrite the prescription and that I should just keep wearing glasses that are too strong and my eyes would adjust. During all of this, I was told I had to meet with the branch manager with whom I'd set up appts and leave work to make and then she would be a no-show. Happened twice. As an aside, she should be working in Vegas as she is a master at shaking down patients offering a variety of unusable contact discounts and offers to make things seem like you are saving money. You are not...but well done, AO, you have the perfect employee to try and maximize revenue. Which is the whole game because it turns out they are now private equity firm. It is a sad situation there and you should avoid. Try to find a non-private equity owned practice--whether eyes, teeth, vets, whatever. It is really important!

Alas, I only needed to update my Rx lenses (loved my 2 yo frames from VisionWorks). I was quoted a price of nearly $300 for replacement progressive lenses including a modest discount (no insurance). Again, these were originally from here. I stopped by Costco and got the same progressive lenses quoted (but now including both scratch and UV coatings) for just $130 + $25 non-store frame-fitting fee. End of story!

By my calculations, this called for desperate measures. I couldn't take her anywhere until I got off of work. So I figured that regular optical places would be closed by then. After calling around, I was right. Then the thought--how about some place in a mall or department store like JC Penny's or Sears? Bingo! JC Penny Optical could take her in and I made an appointment for 6:30. Dr. Doroudian was terrific! She was animated, funny, and energetic. I have been seeing optometrists for a few decades, now. They have all been very professional and....well.....professional. I will not say "boring" because they were....professional. Not to say that Dr. Doroudian wasn't, but she just was such a pleasure to work with. We loved her! She had been with JC Penny Optical for some years, but then worked somewhere else for a while, then came back. As a matter of fact, this was her first month back at JC Penny Optical. They really wanted her back. I can see why. She gave a professional exam, didn't try to up sell anything, and gave my daughter a pair of contacts to hold her until her prescription came in. This was for a contact fitting, but she automatically gave us not only the written prescription for the contacts, but for the glasses as well. She and her husband also produce movies "on the side!" As a matter of fact, her husband, a clinical psychologist, has had two movies premiere at The Loft! Is that cool, or what? I highly recommend Dr. Doroudian. She is there only certain days of the week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, I think. For sure on Tuesdays. She is also at the JC Penny Optical at the El Con Mall on other days.
