I came here for glasses that i needed well they made my glasses wrong when i went…read morein I told them that I could not see at all with the new ones and was told to use them in the morning. I wasnt able to drive or to literally function it felt like i had those drunk goggles. I was told I could see the doctor but they didnt let me see her they kept telling me it was me that I had to get used to them and all they did was bend the glasses to give me a "Panoramic" view. Second they didnt measure my face either i told them the glasses were huge and told me to buy some nose holders. I had to go to a different Lens Crafters on Lincoln for them to find out that the axis of my glasses were at 1 when they had to be at a 6. Very unprofessional and dangerous the amount of times i could have crashed and they were gaslighting me that I was the problem and not only that THEY WERE MESSING WITH MY EYES WHICH COULD HAVE GOTTEN WORSE IM ALREADY BLIND I was told by the other doctor at Lincoln that they always do this and told me to call corporate which i will.

Because, I was able to work from home one Friday, I stopped in Uptown Family Vision for an eye exam. I immediately noticed a significant upgrade in the equipment used to examine my eyes. Since Dr. Andrew Paik and his wife took over the practice, they upgraded all the equipment and it is now state of the art. As a result, I had the most thorough eye exam in my life. My new glasses in contact lenses have improved my vision. I have such confidence in the process and experience that I'm going to move my family to this practice in 2025.

The whole place has been well maintained, plenty of space to browse through the glasses, and the examination rooms were always clean and organized. That said, the follow-up required several visits, which felt a bit drawn out. In hindsight, I probably would have benefited from seeing an ophthalmologist sooner--someone who specializes in that type of condition. The clinic does seem busy, especially on the medical side, which usually speaks to its reputation. While I didn't personally see an ophthalmologist here, there was clearly steady demand for their services. One downside: the pricing on glasses felt high, similar to what you'd see at larger chain retailers. It's worth comparing prices elsewhere before making a purchase. For perspective, I later visited University Ophthalmology Associates (UOA) on Old Orchard Rd in Skokie for cataract care, and had a very positive experience there. Overall, this clinic is a convenient option and I'd consider coming back, particularly for general eye care. Just keep in mind--if you're dealing with something more complex, it may be worth exploring specialist care early and checking pricing before committing.

I know there are a couple optometrists here but there could be more. The woman who helped me (whose name I cannot recall, and yes I feel like a jerk) was thorough and suggested that I try a slightly reduced prescription from what I had. She explained that this would help keep my eyes healthy longer, as over-correcting can lead the lens to focus more than necessary and that could wear out the eye's capacity to focus, and potentially requiring readers or bifocals earlier. (I think I have all that right....) Anyway the point is that I really appreciated her explaining it all, rather than simply overcorrecting as apparently at least one other doctor has done. And the contacts that she suggested fit well and my sight is perfectly clear--in fact, perhaps more comfortably clear than my prior ones--so all in all I'm really glad I came to Boyce, and barring any issues will return next year around this time. The office is super tiny, so there's not a lot of space to sit and wait for your appointment. They also don't have a huge selection of frames, but it's worth looking around if you're here getting a prescription for specs. The parking lot is funky but there are spots directly in front of the office as well as on the west side of the building.

The receptionist put me on hold and said, Dr. Sam said he can see you both and will make sure your daughter is back for her game. Knowing that my daughter is going to need new glasses, because hers were broken, and a new prescription. I could not thank Dr. Sam and his amazing staff enough. Returned the glasses since the prescription didn't seem quite right.. only took about a week extra for them to correct the prescription and get glasses back. Still getting used to them. Had to buy some temple sleeves to relieve the pressure off the ears. There doesn't seem to be a good solution to solve this due to my prescription causes the lens to be heavy the middle.. kind of frustrating. Adjustments don't seem to help a lot just a little so I do need the ear padding sleeves.
