Sean is amazing! Not only did he make himself available on short notice and do excellent pre-purchase inspection on the used car we wanted to buy (and then another the next day when we pivoted to a different car), but his professionalism and communication were impeccable. Sean went above and beyond just reporting his findings on the cars. He generously took time to educate us about various other considerations and even coached us on negotiating with the dealer. I went from feeling naïve and nervous about making such a large purchase to being completely confident. Working with Sean was so darn easy and pleasant--a joy in an otherwise stressful endeavor of shopping for a used car. read more

Sean was amazing. My car needed a new starter, and he was able to come out and have me up and running again the same day, which was a huge relief. His timing and communication were excellent, pricing was solid, and he was super easy to work with. He got everything done in under an hour and provided great service throughout. I'd definitely call him again and highly recommend him to anyone needing a reliable mobile mechanic. Thank you, Sean! read more

Life saver. Great service and upstanding mechanic. Have recommended to many and will continue to do so

Needed help with an electrical issue and Sean responded instantly and was able to get the car up and running again! Would definitely recommend! read more

I was having the worst time getting any mechanics or mobile mechanics to help or respond to request for starter issues for a Ford. Thankfully, Sean called me back a few hours after I left a voicemail (on a Saturday). He requested I send him car info, problem, and car location and he'd come out after Memorial Day --or at least let me know a time he could come that week. Disappointed to say that I never received a response from him after I sent my text with the requested info. Wish I could provide additional info regarding service, but obviously none was performed. read more

Drove up from SoCal to Orinda for the weekend and my Subaru started making hellish noises about halfway up. Of course it was a Saturday so no open repair shops. (Except one that had an AI assistant that very politely and efficiently took all the information about my car and then no one ever called back) I found Sean on YELP and he was there in less than an hour. He found the problem right away (some bolts and screws holding the exhaust manifold had worked loose and fallen off). He located the parts, picked them up, made the repair and checked a couple of other things while I went out for breakfast. Super nice guy. It wasn't cheap but mobile services never are. It was well worth the price to be able to make the drive home the next day without worrying. Thanks again Sean read more

Sean is great, I have an older ford Taurus that needed a starter replacement. He arrived within an hour of speaking on the phone, finished the job in 30 minutes and had me back up & running ! No nonsense just straight to business! Thank you again Sean! read more

Sean's Mobile Mechanic should be given 10 stars! Sean is such a legit mechanic and good honest guy! I live out of state and looked him up to help start my parents Mazda Miata that live in The Bay. While I was visiting, I tried replacing the battery and determined the negative battery cable needed to be replaced. I had to fly back home and did not have time to get this job done. I looked up Sean's Mobile Mechanic online and called the number. I spoke with Sean and I told him my situation. He was extremely helpful and honest with everything. We then communicated via text and I sent him some pictures of the job. He even showed up on a Saturday afternoon with almost zero notice to help! I don't usually leave many yelp reviews however I highly recommend Sean's Mobile Mechanic as he truly helped my family tremendously!! Thanks Sean! read more

Had some issues with my brakes and Sean replaced the rotors and brake pads super quick and at a solid price. Brakes work great and now I can sit stuck in traffic like there was nothing wrong Bonus: he comes to you. Missed that detail when I was looking for a mechanic read more

Sean, I don't need a refund: I can't underestimate your work on the axles. As I said earlier, you are a nice guy and one review can't change that. All is good, enjoy the rest of the holidays with your family! PS: I do agree on the client distraction measure implementation :) read more

Sean is a great guy. Shows up on time and knows his stuff. Tried very hard to fix the problem but couldn't be fixed until taken apart at the dealer. Did manage to fix our chevy truck. read more

Sean came through for us in a major way after the catalytic converter on our 2014 Prius was recently stolen. The Toyota dealership said it was going to take 3 months or so to get a new catalytic converter given that it's on back order, but Sean was able to work some magic to get ahold of one, and came to us to install it (along with a protective plate) in about a week! Sean was friendly, professional, and very responsive via phone calls and text throughout the process. I've already recommended him to multiple friends, and I'd definitely work with him again. Thanks Sean! read more

Legit mechanic! Sean came over and changed my front brake pads really quick! He is good at what he do and super friendly. Definitely will do more business with him in the future read more

Guy is a flake. Flakes twice before he actually came and did some work.... I then hit him up twice afterwards to do more work because I sold one of my cars and needed work to be be done right away, he never replied.... He then only replied when I gave a negative review, 3 months later.... Now he is threatening me with a liability case because of the negative review.... LOL, good luck on that you flake.. I should mention I hired him to change out a starter on my car and he just put in some shims, then charged me the full price for literally half the work... read more

My starter gave out while Element was parked in my neighbor's driveway. (Long story) After a few texts, Sean showed up with the right part, quoted a fair price, and fixed it in hours. He's a gentleman and handled my neighbor showing up asking him what was going on. Great work that saved me a ton of time and tow fees. Keeping his number for any work in the future. Highly recommended over the local Honda dealership that tried to charge me 2x their quote last time I went there. read more

OMG!!!! Great experience!!! I called Sean about 815 am, and left vmail. About 15 mins later, he called me back! I had a battery issue in my CX-9. I could either get a possible tow, to my favorite shop, and end up paying for tow and battery. Or hire Sean to show up and install it himself? After reading oodles of 5 star reviews, I chose the latter. Wise choice! Sean kept me up to the minute on traffic and estimated time arrival. Showed up when he said he would! I gave him explicit instructions, which he remembered and followed. He installed and bought my battery, for reasonable parts and labor cost! I didn't even have to leave, he completed all in front of me!!! Within ten minutes, it was ready! No wasted time on waiting for tow, and returning to shop after work complete!!! My car is around 6 years old, so a new battery was eminent! So glad that is all it was!!! One last surprise! I joked with Sean, I needed to get my Mazda running, in case my other car stopped!!! That very night, my fuel pump went out in my 2nd car! If my CX-9 hadn't been running, I would have been in a bit of trouble!!! Thanks Sean!!! You rock!!!! read more

Sean was responsive and the quote he gave for the brake service (pads & rotors) was very reasonable. He showed me the new parts which were probably higher quality than the discount shops. And he did it right at my home. Saving me time and driving. Would recommend him for this and other jobs also. Communicates well and you feel like you get a quality service without the over inflated prices from dealerships. Thanks Sean. read more

This review was written during the COVID19 shelter in place. I've been a good citizen and not driving much. 10 days ago, I started the car just to keep the battery going. It was rough. 3 days ago, the car would not start. I realized that it was a 2012 battery and they just don't last that long. So, I poked around online to get a mobile mechanic. I knew AAA had some, but I recalled a quote I got last year that was too high. Found all these 5 star reviews here. Texted and sent email. Noticed "Karen" (below) had trouble reaching him on some brain dead app, so I figured I'd follow the instructions on his web page. The voicemail was full, but I heard back from him as a result of my text pretty quickly. He was absolutely on time. Responsive to the texts. Charged 60 bucks for the house call and retail for the battery. He was friendly and funny and we talked about how much fun it is homeschooling the kiddos via Zoom. 10/10 would call him again. read more

Sooo yeah. I got a quote on getting my front passenger break done by Midias on San Pablo in Berkeley and they wanted $1,785.67 to do break pads, rotors and calibrators. Yup! I thought they were crazy too. I'm losing my housing and am moving into a small RV/van. They know my situation. They still were willing to screw me over financially. I went on Yelp looking for an honest, fair mechanic and found Sean. He had great reviews so I gave him a call. He came to my house and replaced the rotor and pad (The calibrators were fine!) for a little over $600! Saving me $1,175.67! He is also trying to help me find someone to do the drag link work on it as well and it looks like he can get his mechanic friend to do that for about 1/2 the price that I was quoted by Midias too, saving me an additional $200+. I mean I'm a 56 year old woman, don't know much about fixing vehicles and I'm going to have to be living in this one. Life is stressful enough and I'm feeling pretty vulnerable right now over this housing situation. I have to say I really, really appreciate an ethical, respectful, honest guy like Sean helping me out. Right now the little savings I have is all I have and he didn't try and rip me off. He came, he was sweet, he did the work and took the extra step to help me continue to get the vehicle operating safely. *Highly recommended!!! read more

He was very responsive, friendly, and able to get my car's battery changed without a hitch, even when AAA had issues. I would definitely call him again! read more

I'm so grateful for Sean. As a woman it's hard to find a mechanic that you can trust and that won't take advantage of you and when I had called Sean I told him I was having an issue with my starter for my car. The first thing he said was "are you sure it's the starter." I really appreciated that because that showed me he wasn't trying to take advantage of me and wanted to make sure that that the starter was the issue. I wasn't really sure, but after a few people that I talked to told me that the the starter was most likely the problem, I told him "yes," assuming that the starter is the issue. We set up a date and time and he contacted me 24 hours prior just to give me a window of the time he would arrive, and he came within that window. He started working on my car immediately and I want to say it took about 30 or 45 minutes and my car was up and running, so needless to say that I'm ecstatic, very pleased with his work, his manner as he was very respectable the entire time and his price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!! read more

Had a complete brake job done, timing worked out great and Sean was here within an hour of calling him, an hour later new rotors, new pads and new hardware were installed. He did a phenomenal job at a reasonable price. And as everyone else says he is just about the friendliest guy you'll ever meet. A+ all around and if I ever have another car service item pop up Sean will be the first one I'll call. read more

Sean called about a week later. He said he was sorry about not getting back to me, that he contributed in making my Easter weekend suck, and if he could cover the $85 I was charged by YourMechanic. I thought that was sweet. I said "I wouldn't feel right taking it but thank you." He then offered to come check my vehicle next time and ... hmmm I forget ... maybe it was to give it a free oil change. That's really generous , except that I no longer have a vehicle. It's dead. At least he called. That was nice. I wish I had a working vehicle for him to give an oil change. read more

I had tried to replace my alternator, and had one bolt that wouldn't budge. Considering that led me to call Sean, I'm quite fine with that. Excellent service, on time, great demeanor, and really fair pricing. Thumbs up! read more

We've used Sean's services a couple times (for a catalytic converter plate install) and both times were 5-stars all around: - Both times, he was able to come by within hours to a day - He was easy and delightful to communicate with throughout the whole process - Really great work, with other mechanics even having commented on the high quality of the shield and the shield having proven itself successful over the past year and a half - Very reasonable, especially given the convenience of a mobile service. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Sean is HANDS DOWN the best mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and having work on my vehicle. I made an account just to make sure he gets credit for being outstanding! Sean goes out of his way to be available and does great work. His prices are great and I don't have a single complaint. He also does not recommend or encourage anything that is not necessary like some mechanics will do. I had him do two repairs now and both times he was quick to respond, arrive, and got right to work. Also as an added bonus, he is a great guy to talk to. As long as Sean is willing to fix whatever repair I have in the future, he will be my go to mechanic. Look no further, Sean is your guy! read more

Yes yes yes! Sean was quick to respond and helpful in figuring out what the problems with my electric power steering were. He was able to come to my office (I don't get much time off so this was EXTREMELY helpful), gave me an accurate quote and great price, and was able to do it all very quickly. Sean was also able to accept alternative payments (via Venmo) which made things easier for me too. I highly recommend Sean's Mobile Mechanic! You'll be very pleased. read more

Sean is rad! He got back to me quickly over text about a dead battery, set up an appointment and gave me a quote, and was right on time. He's friendly, quick, direct and thorough; he tested the alternator after installing the battery and even replaced a missing bolt with one he found in his van. He knows his stuff, his rates are fair and he's just a nice dude all around -- halfway through replacing my battery, someone else with a dead battery approached to ask for help, and as soon as Sean wrapped up he shook my hand and went off to rescue them, too. Sean is THE BEST guy for the job. Whatever that job may be. His work ethic is solid. He's honest. He does a good job. He does an AMAZING thorough job and doesn't rush. It seems that the rave reviews are a bit of an echo chamber, Sean was a lifesaver and a wallet saver. I had him replace the starter in my Outback and it was $286, the Goodyear on park Blvd wanted $453 plus tax. Crazy! Plus instead of waiting for hours at a traditional auto shop, Sean was done in 35 minutes and I didn't have to deal with some guy giving me the bad news about all the other things that are wrong with my car- which is a lot. read more

I contacted Sean for help inspecting a car I was considering buying. He got back to me in less than an hour and ended up meeting me the very next morning to look over the car. All this at a very reasonable price, short notice, and met me on location. Highly recommend. read more
