This the most honest mechanic I have ever dealt with. I had assumed my AC COMPRESSOR had went out on me, so I went bought a new for $400. When I brought to Emad, he questioned me. He asked, "How do you know its your compressor?" He said it could be a number of reason but its NOT your compressor. He said that would cost me about $400 to do the labor, so I put the money in his hands!! HE GAVE IT BACK. Its not your compressor. He said, 'Go check all of your fuses and relays." I went a found out it was a $20 fix!!!! Emad saved me $800!! Im so thankful for this brother. Go to Emad, he's not trying to take your money. He trying to help you. I had to get an issue with the EVAP fixed, and Emad discovered that the loud noise I was hearing, especially when speeding up was due to a wheel bearing. Lol tried to get a Brake and lamp inspection done here dude took a flashlight and a clip board told me to press my hazards, turn the blinkers on press brakes and what not then looked at my brakes and told me my brakes were bad I just got new tires and brakes mind you it was one brake pad that was at 35% I had it checked somewhere else.. so he told me I need my brakes done before he can pass it for inspection, I pleaded with him but he just laughed and said your lucky I'm not charging you ... wait a minute sir.. to do what? Look at my brakes? I pressed the pedal and activated all lights as he asked me to do so I SHOULD BE CHARGING YOU LOL...never going back or referring them. read more

When my engine light started blinking and my car started shaking completely unexpectedly, Emad answered the phone and despite being very busy, told me to come in for an engine scan right away. He cares about you as a person as much as he cares about your vehicle, showing concern when I told him I use my car for work, and caring about what I'd do with my day while I waited for my car. He didn't have to finish it as quickly as he did, but it was extremely quick, at a price even my broke self could afford. Ive been getting my car repairs done at Emads for over 20yrs and he never ceases to amaze with how professional, honest and caring he is but very much down to earth. From oil changes, smog checks, brake jobs to practically replacing the whole top part of an engine for me, Emad has never let me down. I am above & beyond pleased, satisfied and impressed with Emad's Tune Up service!! A little background; turns out my little Honda didn't pass her smog check (I know right? Honda??) Fortunately there is some very reasonable funding available through the state which I was very pleased to come across in my research. After receiving approval for said funding, I was provided with a list of auto shops that were approved as part of the CAP Program to receive financial assistance and maintenance. I called the few places in Oakland to inquire about pricing and details. . . . 1st Impression - From the moment I began to speak with Emad, I was met with a friendly demeanor and very thorough explanation of the program. He immediately started to explain the process, answering questions I wasn't even prepared to ask! He won me over with his knowledge and forth giving assistance and I hope he knows what a valuable and honorable attribute that is (actually, he does. I made sure to tell him!). I wasn't able to get an appointment for another week which was fine, it afforded me time to make arrangements. There were some issues with me getting over to the shop at our scheduled time of 9:30am. When I called Emad to inform him of my difficulties, he was understanding and flexible, telling me to bring my car in as soon as conveniently possible. 2nd Impression - I arrived to the shop to find Emad behind the counter. We introduced ourselves and started to exchange details and paperwork. I couldn't help but notice (impressively) a platter of food at his side. It consisted of cornichons, cucumbers and fresh feta cheese in olive oil!! Are you kidding me?? I'm in the middle of an auto shop in the heart of East Oakland and this man is snacking on a healthy Mediterranean platter!! I was pretty impressed considering normally you might expect to find dozens of empty Burger King and Jack in the Box bags dispersed around the shop. Much respect!! Moving on. . . . we engaged in small talk as he complied the paperwork and information. He then went on to explain the procedure including the normal process, what to expect if not, what my options would be in that case and how to handle the situation should that even be an issue. I'm telling you, Emad really went out of his way to make sure I not only understood the work involved but also giving me the comfort and security of feeling that my car was in good hands and I was dealing with an honest and trustworthy person. After leaving my car with Emad for one day, he was able to qualify and repair the problem resulting in a passed smog. Car registration was due and had to get the bi-annual SMOG Certification and because my Toyota Corolla is 22 years old, I was required to go to a Gold Shield station. Of the two stations close to me in Oakland these guys had the best reviews and they totally earned it. Two years the car borderline passed and I was expecting to have to make repairs to get it to pass. It passed the emissions test but failed the timing test. Because it was a Gold Shield station, he was able to adjust the timing, retested and it passed. I got to the station about 12:45 on a Tuesday and he was able to start the test right away. With the timing adjustment and re-test was only at the shop a little more than an hour. It was great to have it handled in one visit. The SMOG check and certificate was $70 and the timing adjustment was another $65.thrilled with the price. There was no up-sell, no hard-sell. I only know where to pump the gas and add oil, so finding a reputable repair shop was important for me. This is a great shop and the next time I need repairs, they are going to get my business. I have been taking my vehicles to emad for several years now and continue to be blown away by the level of service and honesty that i get. Unlike other shops when you come in with a problem your not meet with the usual "This is a serious problem and needs to be taken care of today" They will give you an honest diagnostic and not try and up sell problems and services you do not need.
