I was speaking calmly with one of the male employees, who was initially very nice. I told him that I could just take this dress home and use my own detergent to clean it again by myself, but it would be great if they could just spot-clean that little area if it's not too much trouble for them. I was Not asking them to clean the entire dress again. And I did NOT force nor demand them to redo the work! The female owner was helping another customer nearby but appeared to have been listening to our conversation the entire time. (I felt being monitored) As soon as I mentioned the stain, she abruptly came over and said, "Ok, we can spot-clean this time, BUT we do NOT want to do business with you in future!" She told me to take back the other clothes that I had just brought in for cleaning. I was completely caught off guard. I was NOT demanding a refund, arguing, or making an unreasonable request. I had actually offered to take the dress home and handle the stain myself. What made the experience even more upsetting was how instantly the two male employees changed their demeanor! They had always been genuinely nice to me on previous visits, and one of them had been friendly to me just only moments earlier. But as soon as that female owner said she no longer wanted my business, both of them immediately began telling me to take my clothes and leave! I even said, "You guys two have both always been so nice to me before." Instead of remaining neutral or communicating politely, both male employees continued rushing me out rudely. Their attitudes changed so abruptly that it was so shocking and disturbing--one moment they were friendly, and the next they were treating me as though I had done something seriously wrong. At the same time, the female owner remained cheerful and welcoming toward two customers who appeared to be Latino, repeatedly inviting them to come back, while treating me in a completely different manner-EXTREMELY RUDE and BIAS. I don't know whether race played a role here, but as an Asian customer, the stark contrast felt discriminatory and made the experience even more uncomfortable!!!!!!! SO BASICALLY, THE FEMALE OWNER JUST REJECT MY BUSINESS RUDELY, ABRUPTLY, BECAUSE OF MY VERY REASONABLE REQUEST: THEY DIDN'T CLEAN MY DRESS WELL IN THE 1st PLACE! I understand business has the right to refuse service, but there is a respectful and professional way to communicate. I felt extremely humiliated, disrespected, and unfair and unwelcome!!!! Just because my legit concern about the job they didn't do well????? WTH! For future or existing customers: if you do not mind the possibility of being told to take your clothes and leave immediately because you made a reasonable request about work that was not properly completed by this place, then feel free to give this business a try. We found Linda's tailoring using yelp, called them, and they gave us an appointment right away. The shop is nice, with some dressing rooms so you could try on your clothes then they both come in work on pinning up your clothes exactly how you wanted to fit. Then when it's correct, they give you an appointment to come back. It's all done very professionally and the quality of the work is very good. Thankfully, Dalla's gave it a shot and they were amazing. They removed all of the makeup stains and missed spots that the other dry cleaners didn't take care of. There was also a problem area on the sleeve that looked like the previous dry cleaners over treated. Dalla's was able to get that squared away also. My shirt and three piece suit was looking brand new when I picked it up. They worked with my fast turnaround needs as well, having this done within about a day and a half. They have a 1 week policy if there is any issues. I went back to have the patches sewn on straight and have an additional patch sewn on. They did not use the spacing I asked for, there was colored thread coming out of each patch. Patches were crooked again and they missed a whole side of a patch. I'm all for supporting local business, but if I'm gonna get crooked patches, I might as well pay myself to do it.
