I got there around 3:30 PM and there was no one there to help us check in. However, on the way I was told everything I needed to know to get in through the main door and into the room. There is a small private lot to park in plus the street is free for parking next to the building. I do not know if that becomes an issue in peak season but at least it wasn't a worry for now. The common area is super nice. It feels like being home. There was white and red wine out and soft drinks in the common fridge as well. The room itself was surprisingly large and comfortable. Everything was in place for a great stay - ample towels in the bathroom, instructions for everything including where to place used glasses and so on. Waking up breakfast was being made for any guests that wanted it. Banana pancakes with bacon and some grapefruit. It was nice to smell those smells before coming down to experience it! The only frustrating part was the initial booking. Since the single night could not be reserved online I needed to call. I was never able to call and get a person immediately. I always needed to leave a voicemail and wait for them to get back to me. Though I cannot say it was a big deal, it still does make for a bit of a hitch if you are trying to make last minute plans.

The room was always serviced when we returned in the afternoon. The breakfasts were so good and the chef, Marie, is delightful. The wine and snacks in the afternoon were a pleasant way to start the evening. Bottled water, sodas and chips, etc., were always available and complimentary. The inn is walking distance to some great restaurants. We've stayed in a lot of places in the area and this was the best by far.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !!!…read more My Sir (yes, I literally call him that because he is such a sexy Sicilian gentleman and always dresses to the 9's!) is taking me away here for my birthday. It's my first one with him in my life :) I was blown away when we walked up to the main house, toured inside of ours, had tea, a cozy night and breakfast. He breakfast was nithing shoet of amazing! The star was the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast casserole - like OMG insanely delicious!!! I kind of had three servings! Many other perfect choices too, like English muffins, fruit, yogurt, granola). Our room is done in dark reds and boasts cherrywood. Also, beautiful prints and furniture. We had a romantic evening with the jacuzzi, (gas) fireplace and cloud cozy King sized bed! Stellar service from all - Sam and Amanda in particular. They do A LOT here! We MAY leave the room today, lol. Walking Washington Street is a possibility. MAYBE the Zoo... I lived in Cape May many moons ago. A definite place to visit- you will always have somewhere to go and somewhere to eat! Splurge on the decadence of The Queen Victoria!!! You're worth it!!!

This was our first visit to this charming B&B and it was truly a positive & memorable experience. It's located within the heart of Cape May, so walking distance to a myriad of restaurants and shops and only one block from the beach. The amenities are unbeatable - beach cruiser bikes, beach chairs and towels, lots of outdoor porches to relax on and read, and an outdoor shower. The breakfasts are delicious (we had an egg/cheese entree with ham the first day & a stuffed French toast with sausage patty the 2nd day) The daily morning and afternoon baked goods were delicious (especially the assorted breads with homemade strawberry jam!) The owners (Doug & AnnaMarie) are extremely warm and welcoming and go above and beyond & to ensure every guest felt safe during the COVID pandemic (great social distancing, mask awareness, plastic shields as needed & hand sanitizer). A well stocked 24 hr kitchen with plentiful bottled water as well. Lots of extras that you don't find in other B&Bs. They also immediately alerted us when my wife left her pocketbook behind at breakfast. You can tell that the management truly cares about making this place a great experience for their guests without cutting any corners. It's truly a beautiful property with lots of outdoor space and charming rooms each unique & all very well-maintained, extremely clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing but wonderful things to say about the Queen Victoria & we hope to be back again soon!

While Bob is a retired minister he has found his second calling as a very accomplished chef! Breakfast each morning is always a cornucopia of choices and delicious flavors. On my most recent visit, I had a very strict dietary restriction. Not only did the Muncy's accommodate my request, they made me the absolutely most delicious gluten-free (I know... ugh!) muffins I've ever eaten... seriously. The Inn is located on a working farm and therefore relatively secluded. Lots of privacy if that's what you seek. However, Bob and Linda are always happy to engage in conversation. They seem genuinely interested in learning about your story. And if you should ever return, they remember details and want to know what has happened in your life since your last visit. The accommodations are comfortable and quaint. This is after all their primary residence. The inn feels lived in but not precious, not stuffy. I highly recommend the Inn for those looking to escape the big city or those who are traveling up and down the East coast and want to explore what Delaware has to offer. Five Stars!

For those looking for vintage Victorian charm, you will be pleased with this property. The location cannot be beat, the entire historic district is a very short walk. The beach is not much farther. We stayed in the Renaissance room, a very comfy and roomy king. These were definitely two of the best night's sleep we've had in recent times! The breakfast service here is really excellent with several menu choices. They will also accommodate a range of custom requests (obviously within reason). The staff was great throughout our stay and everything is well thought out. One caveat here is the no parking on premises, there are however parking options close by. We were able to get free on street parking a short walk away. Loading and unloading at the property is also easy. Highly recommend!!

For starters, the Harrison/Pharos Inn does not have a front desk. When you show up for your stay,…read moreyou are not told where to park to unload. Eventually you get out and ring a bell. Someone that is working in the back (housekeeping or kitchen staff), comes to let you in and hands you the paperwork and a quick synopsis of your stay. There is no one to help you with your bags up to the 2nd or 3rd floors. One of the reasons that I chose the Harrison was for its location. For this reason I would give the Inn 3.5 stars rather than 3, but that is not an option. The location was perfect. Close to the center of town and the beach. One could park their car and walk or bike everywhere. However, the photos are misleading. I thought that I was booking a B&B with the old home charm, but one that was also impeccably updated. The rooms had white bedding which is similar to upscale hotels, however other parts of the room were subpar. The carpets need to be replaced. In the hallways and in our room they were filthy (stained and discolored all over). The bathroom shower was a prefabricated shower unit which was underwhelming for the price, but what was most annoying was that the shower regulator was loose and difficult to adjust. The water did not warm up for a few minutes and dripped while in the off position. The TV was small and too far away for the remote to work from the bed which is the only spot in the room that you would watch it from. Perhaps it needed batteries. I suspected this stay experience was going to be different than what I am accustomed to because I was contacted a few days prior to our stay exclusively via an AI messenger. Any questions that AI could not answer, the AI messenger had to escalate the question to the front desk (which did not exist at the inn). If you want to speak with a live person instead of going back and forth with the AI messenger, you have to call the number listed on the website. You are calling a general number. The Harrison/Pharos is a part of a conglomerate of many hotels in Cape May. You must listen to all of the options, and finally pick a number to punch to hopefully speak with a person. I chose housekeeping because there was not a front desk option. I called about how to work the TV because there were no instructions. The housekeeping person was not successful at helping over the phone. We were going out to dinner and after 8PM there is no one to help or stop by. We ended up figuring out some of the issues ourselves and then gave up. In addition, the network to get on the wifi was different than what was listed in the paperwork. Maybe as AI becomes more prevalent, people will become more accepting because we are forced to. In the future, I will make sure to avoid such places as long as I can. I have been to many B&Bs in the past and one of the perks is a fantastic breakfast. The breakfast was good, but not great. The afternoon tea was ok. The cake was dry. If I were eating at a restaurant, I would not go back. We paid for early entry to the room on the day we arrived. I was told that they could take our bags if we arrived early and the room was not ready. We chose to pay to get in two hours early. This is something new to me, but I did it anyway, If we had not, I do not know what they would have done with our bags. There was no one to help. For the amount of money that we paid for the room (about $600 per night after all fees), I expected more. I chose the place because of its location, old house charm, and what I thought was its clean, updated (not dingy) insides. The photos are misleading. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Even at a lower price point for the weekend of June 19th and 20th, much of my dissatisfaction would still be warranted.

As a Bonvoy member, I really don't get to branch out from the mundane, generic hotel scene when I travel (almost every week ‍), but in the sleepy little Coast Guard town of Cape May, NJ, I had no Marriott options. While Yelping for another option, I came across this absolute gem. Just the picture online drew me in, and the price seemed outrageously low (guessing off season). Booked rooms for myself and some colleagues and couldn't have been happier! Of course I took the ocean view room with a balcony, claw foot tub, turn of the century charm, etc. The room was spacious, warm, comfortable, and I literally melted into the perfect king sized bed. Had a cup of coffee on the balcony in the morning listening to the gentle sounds of the ocean and gulls. Unfortunately due to my work schedule I couldn't stay for the comped breakfast in the gorgeous dining room, but next time for sure! The staff, as well, couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. My recommendation, you ask??? Make this a vacation destination, especially on the romantic side!
