Sealark would be a 3 based on my other visits to other places. Regardless, I would definitely come back because the hotels in the area are too commercialized for me and there isn't a whole lot to choose from unless you score something on AirB&B. Sealark is much more like staying at home and in the neighborhood but still super close to the beach. Restaurants are in a blink of an eye driving distance. 96th street is about a 3-5 minute drive. I stayed in Loft number 8, which was the highest room in the house and attic style. Steep stairs all the way up but a great workout! The other rooms were sold out so this is was what I went for. I really didn't mind though. The loft shares a sun or picnic area styled deck and one layout chair (better if they had 2...could be a fire hazard?). It's really simple and a nice add-on to have easy access from the loft. The room was long and skinny with a living room area, HDTV, bedroom, mini kitchen and bathroom. AC was on full blast. Good for the husband, bad for the wife but an extra blanket really helped keep me cozy. The ability to cook and have privacy were the pluses for this room. The bedroom didn't have a tv, just the living room and there is great wifi access. There were plenty of windows, a wall full of basic artwork and it was a perfect size for 2 people to have space. The downfall was that it wasn't fancy by any means. I really didn't mind and that's why I would come back, however I could see how someone would be disappointed if they had much higher expectations. The room had a lot of original features since the house was old. I loved the wooden door with old school locks. A few dusty areas but nothing to gripe about. The breakfast was come and go starting at 9 am. It was perfect for us and saved on going out of our way to find a restaurant. My husband and I had the quiche, bread, fruit and the homemade cake. They also offer coffee, water, tea, and OJ. All of it was a treat! Kudos, to the chef for the quiche and cake. The porch out front was another plus. It wraps around and has a few glider chairs. We both loved talking outside and sharing a few drinks. At 11am check out the innkeeper said that we were welcome to come back and use the outdoor shower (post beach) and for a $25 cash deposit we could use the beach tags. Returnable: 90%

We both do reviews for employees, and if we have a person who gets either of those scores, then we are doing something wrong. In other words, one with a single star rating one should have been terminated long ago; someone with five should have been promoted. This experience was what everyone wants to have: the best possible score. Mike and Wanda O'Niel possess a great attitude about their business and how seriously they take whatever their guests want or inquire from them. Both are excellent conversationalists, with strong knowledge of the leisure industry and the desire to make travellers comfortable and happy. The house is magnificent, with every room designed to fit the historical accuracy of its build, while still providing all the modern amenities one comes to expect. The meals provided were unique and an eicurian delight. They both know every restaurant and its address to recommend for dinner. Their house is just three (long) blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, a perfect distance - just close enough to walk, but far enough not to hear the noise.. Every evening at 17:00, they host the "cookie hour" with unusual, again, unique cookies and light drinks. Even the weather was great; but I don't think they'd have accepted rain if at all possible! My husband and I had an incredible time. Never have we had such a boundlessly beautiful three days and two nights in a lovely room, with a jacuzzi, a huge bathroom, great property and such dedicated hosts! They also provide a Tesla and another EV electricity provision for energising one's vehicle! I happily and highly recommend the Candlelight Inn for anyone visiting southern New Jersey's beach area.

The hosts, Mike and Wanda, are most congenial, and the breakfasts they cook are delicious. They also are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice. Late afternoon refreshments, including homemade cookies appeared at 5:00 each day, and evening snacks were on the table when we came back for the night. Fragrant aromas often emanated from the kitchen as we came and went. We were there in the off season, so it was no surprise that things were quiet. The Inn is located several blocks from the beach (an easy walk), which probably means it stays relatively serene even during the summer. We slept very comfortably in the Bay Window room. Chilled bottled water and soft drinks were supplied in a hallway alcove. Most of our activities were centered in Cape May, but it is an easy drive from the inn. The Candlelight Inn is not a suitable place for families with young children, but they allow dogs in lower level rooms. We can confidently recommend this place to other travelers, and would be happy to stay there again ourselves.

May 23, 2025 We…read morereturned from our second stay at Summer Nites in Wildwood NJ. Shelia and Rick have a wonderful Bed and Breakfast and from the moment you walk in you are welcomed with a very warm cheerful greeting. Shelia and Rick are the most pleasant, friendliest people and they go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. All the rooms have a different theme from the 50's, 60's & 70's. There is an Elvis Room that is all decorated in black and gold, a 70's room with a real working disco ball above the jacuzzi tub. Our favorite and the room we stayed in both times is "Life is a Beach". The bed is very comfortable. Loved that there was a small refrigerator in the room, the only suggestion would be to have 2 chairs for sitting on in the evening. We had a chair in our car from when we went to our granddaughter's softball games and that worked out great. Shelia and Rick thought of everything that will truly bring you back to reliving the past eras. Breakfast and afternoon refreshments are served in a room that resembles a 50's style diner and each booth has an authentic jukebox loaded with 50's, 60's and 70's style music. Shelia & Rick supply the quarters so you can select your favorite songs to listen to while enjoying breakfast and later in the afternoon while enjoying your refreshments. There is even a working Coke machine to grab yourself a bottle of coke anytime, with dimes that are supplied on top of the machine in a Coke tin. There are 4 rooms on the first floor with a private entrances: Life's a Beach, 70's Disco, Elvis, 60's Suite (this room is ADA accessible). In the common area, there is a Keurig coffee machine so you can get a cup of coffee or hot tea anytime. There is also a full-size pool table on the main floor, and a few neat vintage pinball games await on the lower level that all you have to do is turn them on to play. I highly recommend staying here, as the entire place is immaculately clean with private parking. There are even bikes you can take out. A favorite thing for us was sitting on the front porch with coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening on the wicker rockers with a nice breeze. We are already planning our return visit for next June 2026. Shelia & Rick, along with all their staff, is kind and caring. Thank you all very much for a lovely stay. See you on our next stay. I had booked a spot for Corvettes on the Boardwalk in Ocean City and needed a place to crash. But where? I found Summer Nites and from the pictures it looked like a beautiful seaside mansion. Sold! We arrived on Saturday night for a two night stay. Sheila greeted us and proudly showed us her home. The theme throughout the home is the fabulous 50's. We're shown into the kitchen and it is a beautiful recreation of a 50's style diner. Each booth has a few quarters to play the authentic jukebox loaded with, yep! 50s and 60s style records. I had that bad boy crankin' the Beach Boys and Frankie Valli. There is a working Coke machine (with dimes in a can) grab yourself a bottle anytime! There are two working hot tubs on the property and the front porch has rocking chairs to sit and relax. In the garage, Sheilas husband has his 57 Chevy waiting to cruise. Sheila & Rick are car people too?? Very very cool. Each morning we were greeted with an amazing breakfast. To start, a large fruit cup and freshly baked muffins were waiting for us. I poured myself a coffee as I was served a delicious homemade waffle and sausage. This has to be the best Bed & Breakfast I ever stayed at. Our room was the Marilyn Monroe room. Lots of Pink! When I walked into the room, I didn't know what to expect. My wife filled up the Jacuzzi and used the bath bomb in the water. After a 10 minute soak, I can understand why JFK kept Marilyn as his side piece. We checked out on Monday, we were the only guests in the B&B. Sheila sat with us and we talked about the future events at Summer Nites. Sheila, I can honestly say we had a great time and cannot wait to return next year.

Welcome to the Jersey Shore Vacation Grifter's Club, Blue Palms. Go ahead. You've earned it…read more We had been coming for years, but this place has slipped into the typical vacation grift destination and is to be avoided. This property is right at the boardwalk and right at the main amusement pier. For which you need "tickets." The Blue Palms has a "funclusive" deal where if you stay there, they give you some 'free' tickets. Isn't that great? The deal with the tickets is the *main* reason we'd stay here. The location is also great. But you DO NOT GET THAT 'FREE' TICKET DEAL IF YOU BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA. Instead, they'll tell you to CANCEL Expedia and re-book through them. Even at the front desk - as we checked in - they advised us to do that! (Never mind the Expedia policy for cancellation indicated 27 April was my latest opportunity). The manager went into some detail that, had I listened *carefully* to the information message (which I did), I would _know_ that I would NOT have the ticket benefit unless I canceled Expedia and instead booked directly. It's enough to make a cat laugh. That's slimy, low, cheapskate grifter behavior. To save themselves, what, $10? Maybe? They rip off Expedia, rip *me* off, rip off my rewards, etc. Why not put it in your advertisements? Setting their mountebank behavior to one side, let's discuss the stuff that ruins trips in the immediate sense, not just the "I feel like I've been robbed!" sense: * No control for room temperature. There's a fan (1,2,3) control, but no thermostat. Hope the temp suits you! * Used to have free bikes for guests! Sure they were rough, but at least they had them, a nice convenience. GONE NOW. OK, I get it. Times change and prices rise, so they put in a rental bike system. BUT THEY HAD ZERO BIKES. It's not like they're all rented out; they're just not there. * Good Luck if you have to park in the section of the lot nearest those for-pay bike racks that don't actually have any bikes. Its preposterously tight dimensions are a hazard to driver, car, pedestrian, and stroller alike. * See photo. Dirty sheets :( ... to be fair, I'm not sure I cared that much. But after all their charlatan behavior, I am duty-bound to include a photo of the vague-ishly dirty top sheet. **** An outfit like Morey's should be better than this. **** P.S. A slight tangent, to be sure: You can hear the Honky Tonk bar from the hotel. This may or may not be pleasant according to your tastes. But I can tell you this: If you can hear the Honky Tonk from the Blue Palms, the Honky Tonk will be *painfully* loud inside. (Yes, I am an expert. Feel free to inquire within). *** PROS *** : 1. I would definitely stay here again! When we arrived, we had to call for them to greet us in the drive way. Which was also our parking. I wore my mask at this time because I wasn't sure on policy and they put theirs on because I had mine on. (I guess NJ Iifted the mask mandate, but they respected me wearing mine. Which I thought was fantastic). We were then given a tour of the house and given the rules. They never bothered us, which I really appreciated. If we did need anything, all we had to do was text and/or call and they responded quickly. This place was very beautiful and welcoming. I just loved looking around and exploring. They have a super cute snack table with crackers, candy, and prepackaged granola bars/baked goods. They also had coffee and tea available in the dining room for most of the day. A communal mini fridge and microwave were provided for guests that were clean and well maintained. There are plenty of places to park as well if needed. And despite other people staying in separate rooms in this home, I still felt like I had my own space. Never once did I think it was too loud with other guests. There was also bikes, games, books and movies provided for guests to use and unfortunately the jacuzzi was still closed due to covid. We stayed in the Walt Whitman room. Located on the second floor. It was very small, but cozy. We had to make use of the dresser and closet for our clothes and things because we had to slide our luggage under the bed. Which wasn't a huge deal. There is a sink in the room which was strangely useful. The bed was very clean and comfortable. It had coverings on the mattress to keep it free of bugs and allergens. (I'm always checking for bed bugs. Had a bad experience once.) It was a double bed, but my partner and I had no issues. There is also some air conditioning and a ceiling fan and never got too warm. Off the room was this fantastic deck that we had our breakfast every morning and enjoyed our evenings on, settling down before bed. The bathroom is across the hall and it is a private bathroom. You could lock it and they provided a key. The bathroom was quite large with a beautiful claw foot tub. The shower was very powerful with the pressure and it was hard to not get the floor wet. I felt bad because of the gorgeous hard wood floors. Breakfast was absolutely INCREDIBLE everyday. I was always looking forward to what they whipped up for the morning. Now with covid, it was still all takeout. Which I didn't mind because I'm not a social butterfly and enjoyed the privacy. They should keep this option. But the dishes ranged from freshly made breakfast sandwiches and burritos to stuffed French toast. It was all delicious! Orange juice, fruit cups, and some sort of soft, warm, and luscious pastry was also included. Again, I would 100% stay here again. Natalie and Todd were excellent hosts and super friendly. I stayed at this hotel for the second, and definitely last year in a row. Last year I would have…read moregiven it three stars, this year it gets one. Let's start with the positives. It is only a block from the boardwalk which was nice. Also each room comes with two separate bedrooms which makes it great for families. That's about it. As for the negatives, there are several. First, checkin isn't until 4pm and checkout is at 10am. You would think the fact that they have a late checkin time and an early checkout time would mean that the rooms would be well cleaned. Nope, couldn't be further from the truth. There was dirt and garbage everywhere when we got there. There were also no towels in our room, we had to go down to the lobby to request them. I don't know if they need to hire more housekeeping staff or what, but our room was not cleaned once the whole weekend we were there. Beyond that, they would only take dirty towels and leave new ones if someone was in the room to bring them the towels and take the clean ones. If no one was in the room, we got no clean towels. Now onto the beds. The bed frames that they have are made for full size mattresses, not queen or king, so the sides of the mattress were always hanging off the sides of the frame, making it feel like you could fall off the bed at any moment. The bedding was also not well cared for. I am automatically hesitant of bedding that is not white since it cannot be sanitized with bleach. The sheets at this hotel are pink. One of our sheets also had a hole in it that seemed to be from a cigarette burn. Then there was the bathroom. It was by far the dirtiest room in the suite, and the plumbing needs a major upgrade. The water that came from the sink or shower was never consistent, and often was so hot that I couldn't stand to be under it. Even the toilet water got so hot that steam was coming from it. The sink also only has two settings, off or water pressure so high it soaks your clothes. In stark contrast to the showers, the hot tub was never hot. It was lukewarm most of the time and most of the jets didn't work. The pool too was supposed to be heated, but was not. I would recommend this hotel only to broke college students on spring break who don't mind putting up with some discomfort and uncleanliness for a weekend at the beach. If you do choose to stay here make sure to bring your own towels, toilet paper, and a broom.

I got a text from her at check-in that they won't let them check in because they are not 25. NOWHERE on their website does it state that. Quite the contrary, there is actually a BANNER AD about prom weekend! I clicked their policies, the only age mentioned is "must be 18 to use jacuzzi". My daughter tells me she had to put her DOB when booking the room, and yet they STILL allowed the reservation to go through. She received an email confirming her reservation. Again, not a WORD about being 25. Tons of things about check in, check out, various other "rules and regulations". You would think that might have made the cut. I called. Of course I called because I have four 18 year old high school girls devastated that their prom weekend is a bust. I point out there is no age restriction on the website. I am told "It's 25". I point out again that it is not stated anywhere. I point out the prom ad. I am told "That is a special. They would need to have 50 kids through their high school". So FIFTY 18 year old's is acceptable, but four are not. Got it. I then ask why they allowed the reservation to go through when she entered her date of birth if they were not going to allow her to stay there? The next nonsensical answer is "They can put whatever they want when they reserve, but we check ID when they check in". Great, except she didn't PUT that she was 25 and show up as 18. She put that she was 18, they received that info, they accepted the reservation and then they turned away a group of kids that have been looking forward to their prom weekend for god knows how long. I'd like to add that they were supposed to drive down right after prom, which would have had them checking in close to 2am. I shudder to think what would have happened had they not decided they were too tired and went in the morning instead. I should mention that on top of prom weekend, there was also a trump rally, which means rooms had been booked everywhere. Somehow they found another property that took pity on them and found them a room. A property, they said, that was 10xs nicer than this dump.
