I hired Mr. Carl Welch for the repair of a room a tree had fallen into last June 2022…read more I talked about the project and what I would like to have done and repaired. I was told "no problem" he can do the job in about 4-5 weeks. I fired him on December 22 because the job was not done and the work that was done was mediocre at best. He gave me the runaround, every week there was a new health problem with him or a family member. He didn't show up more than once a week. His helper was so discussed for not having the materials to do a job, he quit. I paid Mr. Welch $ 12,500.00 for materials that were never delivered, and 2 additional payments of $ 4500.00, I never received a receipt for any material supposedly purchased. He used a lot of material I had laying around from some previous job, which was fine with me as I had no further use for them. I was told the siding would be delivered on a specific day, but it never arrived. Out of desperation I had him take the siding of my garage and used that so it would match the house. He did replace the garage siding doing a hideous job. The new room was to have a normal high ceiling, he didn't spend the money to buy the material so he made a cathedral ceiling, which I hate. When I asked about that he said: "oh yeah I remember now but it's too late now to fix it". The flooring for which I was charged $ 4000.00 never came, he told me it was due to COVID delays. I ordered the flooring from Home Depot it was delivered within 4 days. I was told the amount would be deducted from the original bill, but that never happen. I had him build a lean-to attached to the garage, and I paid for pressure-treated lumber, instead of using pressure treated 4x4 he nailed 2 2x4 together and used that as the supports for the roof. These 2x4 will be rooted in 2 years if they last that long, and I will have to have them replaced. There is a 2-inch gap on the side of the new entrance door,I can see daylight coming in. He couldn't figure out how to align an existing wall with the new one he had to build, there is a 3-inch bend/ slant in the wall and lots and lots of spackle. After making a point of telling me all work will be done by him, he hired his father to do the taping, because he doesn't like to do sheetrock. The father, poor guy had arthritis in his shoulder and hands, he couldn't do any sanding, needless to say, the job looks like it. Mr. Welch also "fixed" a roof that had a small leak, The roof leaks now more than it ever did, the rain pours in. I finally had enough, I contacted the BBB, and I was informed, that Mt. Welch never responded to the inquiry which was sent by the BBB. to Mr. Welch. However, Mr. Welch did send an email to me saying, "I'm sorry but due to the fact you had filed a complaint against him" he would not be able to finish the job. I was advised to hire a lawyer and take Mr, Welch to court, Of course, Mr. Welch was fully aware that could not afford to hire a lawyer since I live on a very limited budget, but he took full advantage of that, and the fact that I'm an eighty-year-old lady. We had Sheeley re-do our roof this February. They were fantastic. The roof was previously…read moreshingled with 3 layers of shingles (not my doing) and had some water damage underneath. Therefore, they had to remove the 3 layers, replace some of the plywood, and then replace the gutter-covers. They did a great job. They were very professional, finished faster than they said they would, and ended up charging us less than they initially said they would. One thing that really impressed me was that when something fell on a railing on our porch and cracked it, as soon as I pointed that out Sheeley agreed to replace it without hesitation, they went out purchased the replacement, and installed it without me having to lift a finger. When a company lives up to their mistakes like that it really shows their true value. These guys were not the cheapest option out there, but they were very well worth the extra cost.

Highest praises all around for Sheeley Roofing! We were about 30yrs in on a drab brown 3-tab…read moreshingle that had lived its full life. After dealing with several contractors who took weeks to confirm a site visit for an estimate and then NEVER getting back with a price, we called Sheeley upon seeing their ad in the Bluestone Press. Kelly got back right away to schedule an appointment with General Manager Steve, who came out and walked us through the process, giving a clear breakdown of pricing and answering any questions that arose along the way. Day of install, the crew was incredible - fast and precise with safety a top priority (ropes/harnesses etc.). Front and back of the house was draped with debris nets, protecting flower beds and siding during demo. Garrett, project manager and liaison between crew and homeowner, was very affable and kept us informed on the progress. By mid-morning the roof was off and ice and water shield was going on. By 5:30 the shingles were on and the yard was swept, even utilizing a wheeled magnet to syphon any rogue nails that may have landed in the grass. The charcoal architectural shingle with black drip edge looked sharp with clean edges, giving our home a more modern look while not breaking the bank. Sheeley offers an incredible decades-long warranty on their roofs, which is even transferable to future owners should you decide to sell. It's amazing to watch a crew firing on all cylinders and complete a project in one day - only wish we had set up a time-lapse! Hands down a great experience and we can't recommend them enough. Look around on your next drive and see all the Sheeley signs at the end of driveways - there's a reason for that!
