I've never written a negative review of a service before, but have to say my experience with Xterior Solutions was extremely upsetting. First, I called them to come give an estimate for a roof repair job, for which they actually charged $289. Who charges for an estimate? Not a single other roofer I contacted. Then, when the representative came, he didn't even bother to get up on the roof to look at the situation, just took drone pictures (again, every single other company I called actually got up on a ladder and took a thorough look). Finally, the rep gave me one estimate, then sent the pics to the owner, who promptly increased the estimate by $1000. Xterior Solutions put a new 30 yr roof on my house December 2018. 5 1/2 years later I needed a new roof. There was a hole in the plywood that they just shingled over, they didn't vent my bathroom exhaust fans out the roof, the flashings around the pipes and chimney were totally crap. The ridge vent was not big enough for the heat to escape which caused the plywood and shingles to buckle. There were 2 layers of plywood in places. I had a new ac system installed and the HVAC guys said it was too hot in the attic and suggested I needed a roof fan. I called Xterior Solutions to ask about that. Their suggestion was that maybe insulation slipped into the soffits and I should get kids to go up there and pull it away or buy radiant barriers. They didn't seem too concerned about helping me. I contracted with L&G home remodeling. Luis crawled around the hot attic (Xterior Solutions never went into my attic) and on the roof. Lots of places the shingles were heaved up, the flashings were done poorly and it was leaking around the chimney. See the pictures. I would NEVER recommend Xterior Solutions to anyone. Xterior Solutions re-roofed my house at the end of July 2020. I learned of Xterior Solutions from my next-door neighbor who was impressed and well satisfied with their work. The Xterior Solutions process, from first contact to completion, was professional, knowledgeable and well directed. At the outset, the salesman knew his product and effectively gathered details in his first visit: He looked thoroughly at the roof and took drone photography. Pricing seemed reasonable; timeframe suited my needs. The roofing team - project manager and roofers - were impressive: they knew precisely what they were doing and got it done in little over a day. (The job also included roof insulation, done by another company - in that same 1 1/2 days.) The crew worked quickly, quietly. Clean-up included using a magnetic sweep to gather nails and staples that might have fallen to the ground, along with every bit of trash. My surrounding gardens suffered no damage! It took 2 years to find a good roofer. The previous year I interviewed 3, chose one who was widely known and recommended. Five or 6 times he failed to show on the start dates. I hired xterior solutions to clean my roof when I purchased my home. This was done at a price of $495. A few years later I called them back, after the stains returned looking for it to be cleaned again. Only this time they claimed that the house minimum had gone up to $1295! This is how they treat repeat customers? After getting nowhere via email I was able to speak with an employee over the insane price increase. Caroline, who claimed she was unable to find my previous contract (until I emailed her a copy of it) stated that the price increase was due to "inflation"... I could see the price going up slightly a few years later but to almost triple??? Some curtosy should have been brought forward to a repeat customer who paid for a service that did not last. Oddly, I was not looking for a free-be or even a discount. All I was looking for was for them to at least honor their previous price. I will never deal with xterior solutions again. Very offputting due to bad business practices. * Word of warning; keep your receipts/contracts. We just bought our house and we had a leak in our kitchen. Xterior Solutions came within a few days gave us a good price and replaced our whole roof. They were all very professional and even though the job had to be delayed due to weather they came and put a tarp over the roof to stop any further leak damage. They were one of the most professional companies I've ever worked with. Steve went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy which we are extremely happy. Xterior Solutions. I did have work done by them. The only thing you have to say is watch them closely. Due to the fact that their workers to hide things from the homeowner. had siding done on my house. Had a clapper taken off my home and insulated And have them replace the plywood. One problem was their workers took off all the outside lighting. They left the wires in capped Which was a fire hazard.They were not licensed electricians. I had problems with Jason when I asked him to cover the cost of the electrician that I had to hire to fix what they have taken apart and broken.he was very rude too me and blew me off. Then I went up in the attic and saw the crappy work that his workers did on the side of the house . I did contact him he came out with two other people. And told me it Normal that I had a 1 inch gap between the siding and the side of the house. Which I asked a licensed carpenter if that was normal he stated no that is not normal and it shouldn't be like that.I asked him to come back and repair what needed to be done. I asked him if he could come back take the facia off repair the work that needs to be repaired he stated he will be back in July 2019 . He's never been back to fix what needs to be fixed and pay for the electrician that I had to hire to fix the electricity that his employees touched or broken. All I got out of his company is a lien against my house, Crappy work and they cost incurred by me for a electrician to come back and do the electricity right. One word for advice that I can have to other homeowners that had their work done by them.There might be hidden incomplete work or Shortcuts taken that could be problems down the road. read more

The salesman came to my house and wrote up an estimate and suggested I go to the showroom to look at the samples. I wasn't sure I had the correct location so I called to verify. While I was in the showroom Caroline, who worked there, closed the office door and was yelling inappropriately to the salesman about how I had showed up without calling. She continued yelling about me re my calling to verify the location of their building. I was never told I needed to call first but if I had, that's still no excuse for someone to speak about a customer like that. What kind of professionalism is this? Who runs a business this way? A few days later she called and left a message apologizing but I have a feeling this is normal behavior for her. I have not yet heard from the owner. I guess this behavior is acceptable. Not only were they extremely close to the estimate they gave me, ( and remember a estimate is just that it's a estimate without unseen issues ) but they clearly explained what they had found after they started to do there repair and that it was going to be a little more, but they showed me the issue and clearly explained EVERYTHING. I made an on-line inquiry about 7:00 PM and had a phone response within 15 minutes. I am in sales so I know the sales process. This company's sales rep acted like a consultant. I was impressed. He documented our discussion in detail. He follow up as did the office. The crew showed up when promised. They were courteous and worked very hard. We had a big job. We had some surprises along the way but that was discussed up front -- you don't know what you can't see. This crew ripped off 106 years of roofing and gave us an up to date, modern, roof product.
