This is by far the worst store I've ever been in--and I should've walked right back out. My husband bought a fishing pole, came home to set it up, and immediately realized a key part of the reel was missing. He returned to the store within ten minutes of purchasing all the equipment, and was told flat-out: no refunds once you leave. The part was clearly missing, and he wasn't asking for anything unreasonable--just an exchange so he could actually use what he paid for. Instead, the employee refused to help in any way. Completely unacceptable customer service. If this is how they handle defective or incomplete products, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I went there last night to get a bottle of wine and was pleasantly surprised by 1) how clean and organize the store is 2) they have an extensive selection of wine at a reasonable price point 3) customer service was just stellar. Kiazer (excuse the spelling!) was very knowledgeable about wines, provided superb recommendation and was efficiently accommodating. I even walked out with an extra bottle of wine! My family and i never have issues with old and new management.I did price comparison with Safeway and this store always compete with Safeway in pricing.Safeway is a giant store and sometimes they put some good deals that no small store can compete.I always like to give my business to small store and there customer service is much better than safeway. read more

This place has changed. New ownership stares at customers while talking a foreign language into their phone. Not a smile among them. I sensed I interrupted a private conversation that was not going well. They gouge you in emergency times. They remind me of the cold SF store climate.. too bad... I won't go back.... Place is still overpriced and with poor customer service. Left a review a while back basically saying the same thing (which someone deleted, hhmmm) and they asked that I give them another chance. Well I did and it's still pretty bad. Everything is way too expensive - $20 for 3 sodas, a snack thing of cookies, and 2 packs of swishers kind of expensive. I avoid going there unless I absolutely have to because stuff is way cheaper at other stores close by. And the workers - man are they awful and entitled. They talk over you to each other as you're trying to ask them for things behind the counter. I had to repeat myself 3 times since they started yelling over me to each other as I was talking. It was pretty rude and unprofessional. Like they literally just had a yelling convo over the customer for some reason. Nobody behind me but guess they couldn't wait 30 seconds for me to leave first. Then on the way out one of them rushed to get out the door right before me and cut right in front of my kid who was with me. Didn't apologize or anything, just went on by like it's totally ok. Seacliff Plaza Store is okay. They are convenient. They are nice and friendly. I am taking away a star for wrong billing. For example, I was given back two dollars for a twenty when the price was fifteen. To his credit, the guy working there did give me my five bucks when I pointed it out. This place is awful with new owners. Prices are outrageous! Taxes cookies is $7.99. Coconut water the small bottle is $7.00. They don't label any of their prices so u don't know how much anything is until you are at cash register. It's ironic, but that it is in Seacliff which is a pretty good neighborhood, but during the Summer, there are some undesirable characters that hang out here. I think the employees should be more strict about having dodgy people hang out. It could detour business for sure. I've given the new owners and new employees there more than one chance but I think I've gone into their store for the last time. I'm born and raised in the area and I even worked there as a kid in high school. I cannot support a business who doesn't seem to appreciate me coming in. I went in tonight and 4 employees were there with no customers and all 4 of them looked at me and glared at me as I walked in. No hello or anything. And pricing is more than it should be. I drove by everyday and it seems like the parking lot is mostly empty so I can't be the only one feeling this. It doesn't take much to show appreciation to people who are coming in to spend money. Walking up to pay and seeing a person every time behind the counter on their phone not even saying hello is not ok in my opinion. To me it says they don't care about anyone coming in there. The owner is deranged and extremely foul. This place needs to be put out of business and I would really hope anyone who cares about customer service in the least would not support this place. I went there to cash in a lotto ticket and the guts helping me were very nice but then the owner stepped in and said to me to get off the damn phone. I, who was not on the phone, took a moment to realize he was literally cursing me out, and asked to speak to the manager. He smiled at me with his chiclet sized dentures and said I am the manager. His employee who was clearly embarrassed then stated, he talks to everyone like that, as though that somehow made me being cursed out for my patronage acceptable. I immediately left and sat in my car for a second to realize that this man literally just cursed me out for being on the phone, which I was not! After I went outside he followed me and proceeded to taunt me by waving at me in my car. I was so upset by this that I burst into tears. I'm 7 months pregnant by the way. He literally went so far to taunt me that I decided to take a picture in which he began to pose for. He really is a sad, miserable person who treats his customers like dirt. I took an Uber here because I was drinking beforehand and he demanded to see my Uber drivers ID it would not sell to me because my Uber driver looked young to him. I was in this store a week ago and I saw seriously concerning behavior from the man who works here. A man walked up to the counter to purchase alcohol. The man at the counter then proceeded to cuss at him, confiscate his ID, and made everyone extremely uncomfortable. The man then politely informed him he will take his business elsewhere, and asked for his identification. The man who worked there then proceeded to place his hands around the mans neck, attempting to strangle him. The young man proceeded to leave this establishment, angry and confused, as we all were. The man who worked there then tried to attack him while he was walking away. I do not understand why the man working here seemed to think it was ok to yell profanities at a customer, place his hands on him, and attempt to chase him. Great service and help and consideration for the disabled. I've been there for years, from age Six (when we called it "Dirty Mary's"), to age Sixty and they've always provided what i needed. Now they are nicer, cleaner, and exactly what you'd expect for a simple, non-corporate, small run-in-out, corner market, and they stay open until midnight on weekends for all of us local neighborhood, last minute shoppers. Not perfect but all you really need for a corner market. They have all you need when it comes to food alcohol drinks and candy, and MOST of the people who work their are very kind and funny! But there is one Hispanic man who always looks down my shirt and then is VERY rude to me while he rings me up. I was buying a pack of grits and he asked if my i.d was real even though it is CLEARLY me and i am (well.. was) a regular customer, and not to mention he has sold them to me before after seeing that same i.d. shortly after he asked if my i.d was real he denied me service and refused to sell me cigarettes. the only reason i give them two stars is because the rest of the people who work there are really nice and they have quite a selection of stuff.
