When the welcoming staff opened the two front doors to welcome me to the lobby, It's in that moment that it seems all reality is left behind, and the only thing before you is immaculately stunning ocean views of the coast of Maine reflecting off of the floor to ceiling windows that greet you like doors to heaven. The upscale accommodations, mouthwatering food from breakfast to dinner, exquisite details in their decor esthetic, and ability to satisfy a romantic getaway or a family trip to remember, are not what sets the cliff house apart from any other experience you may have elsewhere. It is the professionalism poise, and sincerity that is shown to you by every staff member from housekeeping to event manager. Mary Ryan was a name in particular that I would have to highly recommend to assist you in making your experience one you won't soon forget. She was nothing short of a Fairy Godmother who which a flick of her wand had the ability to make you feel like royalty. From stocking your fridge with your favorite beverages and snacks, to scheduling activities for the kids throughout the day...her expertise is personalized to your interests to ensure your stay is made uniquely special to you. Each recommendation she provided from morning coffee to dinner cocktails was everything and anything I could have hoped for. A few days with her itinerary suggestions will have you feeling like a 2 week vacation in 48 hours. There isn't a hallway you could walk down without being greeted with a smile and friendly hello from staff, or a drink you could order without being remembered by name and cocktail of choice during your stay. Its beauty speaks for itself, but its quality is a true reflection of its employees. Always grateful for my experience and hope so many others are able to have a taste of paradise in any season!

The lobby has beautiful decor and the view over the cliff is fantastic. Every floor has a Maine Station- which includes a coffee station, 3 water options, and some fruit. Our room was spectacular and had a view over the cliff. It was not warm outside so unfortunately we weren't able to use the outside pools. For what I could tell there are 2 outdoor pools, one indoor pool and a larger hot tub. There seems to be a lot of weddings there. I believe like 3-4 a weekend. The grounds were very well cared for and there were different activities throughout the day you could participate in. The location is a little remote which is nice, but hard to explore being that it was our first time in Maine. The food was pretty good for the most part. We liked the food better at The Tiller than Nubb's. The drinks are really tasty, but can get spendy. We overall really enjoyed our visit and stay at Cliff House. Rating would be 4.25

The Sparhawk rooms are right at the water's edge and you have wonderful unimpeded views of the Atlantic, Ogunquit Beach, Little Beach and the outlet of the Ogunquit River, with the mesmerizing tides. Plus the views are due east and the sunrises are amazing. However- though the rooms are clean and comfortable with a private patio or balcony, there are some misses for a higher end "resort" property. Our balcony door's deadbolt lock didn't work (which is a safety issue!), the bathroom sink's drain stopper was broken, the walls are rather thin so you easily hear your neighbors (and snorers), and we had ants in the bathroom. Plus it would be nice to have in-room amenities like a coffee-maker (coffee, tea, hot water are available in the lobby but only starting at 7AM, so early birds like us in need of a morning brew are out of luck) and mini-fridge (for keeping those leftovers or desserts fresh - instead, we had to wastefully throw them out). The complimentary Continental breakfast is welcome but the offerings are on the scant side - there should at least be cut fruit available and it would be nice to have hot fresh oatmeal instead of instant oatmeal packets. There are many other choices to stay in Ogunquit that offer such amenities and are more sound-proofed, though perhaps not with the amazing views that Sparhawk offers. But if The Sparhawk would like to be a top-notch stay, I think they need to up their game a little!

In reality our Tidal Suite room (411) was old, dirty, run-down and in disrepair. You enter into a sun-faded door in desperate need of a coat of stain. The screen on the patio door is ripped. There's black mold and wood rot on the interior door jam and molding from previous frequent flooding. There's moss and mold all over the deck as well as a broken/missing light fixture with exposed wires and broken deck boards. The ceiling fan is covered in dust. The shower head is filthy with some gross substance caked-up on it. The bathroom wall is also cracked with chipped paint and the counter top caulking has failed over time and needs to be redone. The pull out couch fabric is dirty and the mattress has large body fluid stain on it. There's an ant infestation in the bathroom and living room. We left early even though I was losing over $300 for that next day. I felt dirty staying in that room and couldn't wait to go home and shower. There is nothing new or luxurious about the Tidal Suite building. It was built in the early 2000's and hasn't received any routine maintenance, renovations or even a thorough cleaning since it's opening.

However, if you're like me, and you want a full vacation experience and hotel with a lobby and some amenities, with a pool, private balcony, a room with a beach view, and a fun experience hanging out in the room on a rainy day, or relaxing at night with wine and cheese, just know this is a simple little place and not all rooms are spacious and have views - you will have to make sure you reserve one of the larger rooms with a view. And the hotel is all about location, not frills. We made our plans late and got a garden level room, which was clean and had a comfortable bed, but, well, it's a garden level room with no view, facing a parking lot, with ultra low ceilings and was kind of cramped. Still, it had a nicely redone newer bathroom and shower, a functional air conditioner and it was convenient that there was a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven (for slices) and a sink for dishes etc so you don't have to fill up your coffee maker with water from the bathroom sink lol! We got lucky and had beautiful beach weather for every day of our stay so we just used the room to shower and sleep and spent time at the beach, walking Marginal Way, exploring Perkins Cove, shopping, trying different restaurants and having ice cream at night on one of the many public benches for people watching. This hotel does have a pretty lawn with some tables and chairs for all guests to use and that was nice in the morning with coffee. But if you reserve and get a garden level room, I wouldn't recommend that in the off season, or if you are unlucky and get rainy weather.

My husband, sons and I had been going to the dunes for 8 years as returning customers to our cottage at the dunes. it was what everyone in our family always looked forward to. Both of my sons could not wait to take our yearly family trip. it was our forever spot, where we envisioned our family generations going every summer. When my oldest went to college he would still come to the dunes, even flying from his internship in California out to our yearly two week dunes vacation because, yes, it was that special. I can't understate that it was an absolutely magnificent place, untouched by corporate greed, a little family operation. The only thing to mark the property was an un-assuming wooden sign, small and simple but well done - just like the dunes. if you went fast enough on the bustling touristy road you would miss it. beyond the threshold of pines that shield your view to this little ideal world, are incredible ocean views, simple little cottages, green grass, and lots of space, it was a simple little paradise. the dunes was simple, elegant and already expensive. now imagine 2x the cost and you get the idea. what used to be around 8,000usd for a two week stay ( and a full kitchen) is now around 20,000$ (with no kitchen)........ absolutely insane. whats more disappointing is the rebranding of the property as some luxury cottage getaway when the original architecture and entire feel WAS ALREADY MORE GENUINE than this rebrand!!! The whole idea of the dunes cottages were things are simple, like going back in a time machine, units aren't about new interior renovations and luxury finishes. its about time to connect with family outdoors, get away to a simpler time and remember what truly matters. shame on new ownership - truly commercialism at its finest. Well done management, you lost an 8 year returning client, and just know, we have since visited and this place lost what made it special.

Wow- that really hit the spot after walking around Perkins Cove all afternoon! Our room was perfect. Beautiful views and the most comfortable bed (with the most luxurious sheets, btw!). The room came equipped with our own Keurig and fridge (with bottled waters) and Lindt chocolates, yum! Love the sliding pocket door leading to our bathroom and the cozy decor of the entire room. The Covid prevention at the inn was A+ excellent. Hand sanitizers everywhere and the entire inn was spotless clean. And even though we all wore masks, it was easy to see everyone who greeted us was smiling, especially Bruce! Extremely warm & friendly environment. I really LOVED breakfast and appreciated the ordering process: wipe-away mini menus where we checked off what we wanted to order. Brilliant! By the way- possibly the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had in my life! Thank you again for a wonderful stay! We will most definitely be back! Highly recommend! This is a very tasteful, professional and friendly property. When we first entered our suite, a studio, my first thought was that I would be comfortable living in this thoughtfully designed little space and maybe we should sell the house. Only half joking. Everyone in this little apartment was arrangd to make things cmfortable. The kitchen(ette) is small but felt easier to work in than a large kitchen. Everything is clean, nearly new and nicely decorated. Because of uncomfortable past experience, we have sworn off the bed and breakfast vacation. I would say that the Pink Blossoms Resort is all the best you would ever expect from a great bed and breakfast with the warmth and the friendly service but without any of the potential weirdness. Why was this stay a pleasure? The most important element is the professionalism of the staff. They will be happy to stay out of your way or to engage in thoughtful conversation. Either way, they will be ready to help you with anything you need. We did not take advantage of it, but this resort has bbq areas, tables, chairs outside, a serious tennis court and plenty of space for the kids (and adults) to play.
