If you are looking for a comfy, cozy, and reasonably priced resort in Ogunquit, you have to spend a night or two at "The Milestone". The Milestone is a seasonal, beach-town resort. We drove up to Maine for a weekend trip and decided to stay at The Milestone. The staff was extremely accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed and that there were no issues. The first night we stayed in their Two-Queen Bed Suite. It has two queen beds, a walk-in shower, and a large sitting area with a couch and chairs. For those who like to enjoy their morning coffee, each room has chairs and a table outside your door. The suite was spotless and very clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the pillows were nice and supportive. The room isn't the most modern, but it is a beach town. You're spending time out and about, not staying in your room all day. We loved it so much we reached out to the office to extend our stay an extra day. Unfortunately, someone had the suite booked so we had to move rooms. No big deal. The staff met us outside and handed us our keys to our new room. The room was still very spacious considering it is not a suite. The beds were comfortable in this room as well. They do a great job of keeping the property in tip-top shape. They are also much more reasonable than some of the other resorts! We paid around $100 each night, which is very reasonable in my opinion. We wished we could've extended our stay ANOTHER day. Unfortunately, we had to head back to Boston for a prior commitment. We love the place. It is incredibly quaint and cozy. I would strongly suggest "The Milestone" for those traveling up to Ogunquit. The accommodations are spotless and the staff is very responsive to any issues or concerns that may arise. My only tip is to be sure you're out at 11AM sharp. They have zero flexibility with that. The phone in the room literally rang at 11AM on-the-dot. If it was busy and peak season, I could understand. However, this was not the case. They even closed one of the buildings given the season winding down. They could be more flexible with this. I come to relax, not scramble to be out at 11AM sharp. read more

Avoid this run down hotel at any cost! After being promised a "renovated" room- we were shown to a run down, gross room with a heater that wouldn't work and rust/mold and mosquitos in the bathroom - Yuk. Because it was a holiday weekend we couldn't find anything else - tried not to let this ruin our trip. Unfriendly lady at the front desk did not help. Finally got the ancient heating system working, and just tried to stay away from the hotel as much as possible until we could check out. read more

Definitely in need of major renovations on many levels. Carpet old and stained, room smelled like mildew and aqua net, beds were flimsy and uncomfortable and small - definitely smaller than a full size, we are both small people and could barely fit in the bed; pillows flat - it's as if somebody took a pillowcase, threw a few socks in it and called it a day. Front desk staff at check in were not friendly - in fact one had a poor attitude, very curt, could not be less interested in answering a few questions and even gave us some incorrect info about parking in town. The only pros were the location - walking distance to footbridge beach, the water pressure in the shower and the pool which was nice and had loungers and umbrellas and some Adirondack chairs in shady spots. And the price for the room was outrageous. Criminal really. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. read more

If you decide to stay at this hotel, plan to be treated like dirt, regardless of how polite you are, or how innocuous your requests. We booked a room for my wife, daughter, and I through Expedia for two nights, making the mistake of thinking that setting the room preference to three occupants would ensure an adequate number of beds for the three of us. Over our daughter's nearly 14 years, we have stayed at hundreds of hotels across the country, usually booking through Expedia or other similar mainstream sites. We have never, until now, run into a situation like this one. Basically, when we booked the room we selected a preference for a single king instead of two queens. Normally, this would mean that we'd get a king bed with either a cot or a pull out sofa. Sometimes we've had to ask for a cot, but no big deal. In this case, the weirdly hostile front desk workers told us that it was our fault for choosing the king instead of two queens, and that they would not give us a cot. Emphasis on would, here. When I asked for four blankets so that I could make up a bed for her, they refused, telling me that four was too many, and they would only give me two. As I stared at the cabinet full of 40 some odd blankets, I asked why they couldn't spare two more. They would not answer me. I know we live in a pretty callous world, but this just seemed over the top to me. What would giving me four blankets versus two blankets be to them, was it just some kind of weird power trip? I took the two blankets, called them a couple of a-holes, and left. You should also know that, in addition to exceptionally poor customer service, this hotel is completely out of ADA compliance. read more

Was put in a room beneath the stairs which meant that every few minutes I was subjected to loud clomping. Called and told the owner/manager, who said he'd check it out. I didn't know what that meant. In any case he never came or called back. Called the desk twice more and he wouldn't pick up the phone. Went to front desk and he acted like he didn't know what I was there for. He told me there were no other rooms available which I knew was a lie because there is a vacancy sign outside the hotel, and both his website and expedia show 5 rooms available. Was in town for a fishing trip. My buddy and I stayed here. The price was good. The room was clean the shower was great and the bed was soft. It may have a little to do with the very long fishing trip that day but I slept better then I have in awhile. I am sure it was a combination. We grab a little bit of the continental breakfast and coffee. We the. Checked out and left my truck and took a nice walk to the beach and down the beach back up through town to the hotel. We didn't use the pool but it looked to be a nice spot to cool off. I would stay here again when in town again. read more

We stayed in the rooms in the front near the office, room 212, August 21& 22. Ogunquit beaches were packed and I noticed The Milestone was the only motel with vacancy posted, so I was a bit concerned before we checked in. They have free Continental breakfast. The room had a weird smell when we first opened the door, the air conditioner was working. The beds were clean, there was a mini fridge, mini coffee maker that didn't work. As someone else posted the paper coffee cups were not wrapped. The towels were very rough. There was a microwave near the bathroom sitting on top of a very short table so you would have to bend low to use it. There was a hole cut out near the ceiling over the tv, not sure why. I didn't see any bugs. Beds were not comfortable. Floors were dirty, left bottom of slippers black. The Inn is walking distance to Foot Bridge Beach. Napoli pizza is right next door, good food but pricey. There is another good restaurant across the street, can't remember the name. Overall, glad we were only there for 2 days, won't book again. It really needs to be renovated. read more

I had stayed at this facility many many times over the years and wanted to give it a try after reading reviews since new ownership etc. I made reservations through Expedia and honestly, they were more supportive than the Milestone with the experience; I've heard nothing from Management after phone call and a VM since my recent stay there for feedback. I stayed 2 nights with my young daughter; booked standard room. While the room was fairly clean,our room was located right next to the housekeeping door and super close to the road. In addition, none of the outlets worked so it was dark! I went in to the desk to ask kindly if we could be moved as it was noisy loud being so close to the road and we couldn't use the outlets. I was told if I wanted to do so I'd have to pay more money to be placed into another room with 2 double beds. They were vacant (it was a rainy weekend also) and certainly had other rooms that they could've sent me to but were not willing to do so. Instead of fighting I decided to stay as they wouldn't refund me my money or anything either. The next day I went in and found a maintenance worker who at least tried to help the outlet issue but had no luck. He was able to have 1 work (so I had 1 little light) but I had to unplug it to plug in my phone charger then have no light etc. NOT GOOD. It's unfortunate that there is such poor customer service as it used to be great. I really enjoyed this place but I won't be returning again. I don't think if I had booked through them vs. Expedia either that the response would've been any different but I ended up paying over $500 for 2 nights with such loudness, disturbing, no lights or access to electricity and with no refund or option to move into a room without paying more money! We just spent a weekend at this hotel- and regretted it. It is not worth the money at all. The hotel is not updated and can use some TLC. The room was OK. The internet was TERRIBLE. We tried to address with the front desk and were told there is nothing they can do. We could not connect to get anything done, search for restaurants, attractions... nothing. Do not go by the pictures on the site for what the hotel is like. The pool is NOT open. You have to drive down to the "sister" hotel down the road to use the pool. This was not communicated at all when booking. The hot tub you see in the pictures is also not working. The front desk staff doesn't even know there is a hot tub. You can walk to the pool and clearly see it there. They send you to the "sister" hotel for this as well. only to get there and find it drained and the water that was in there was filled with algae. Lastly, the "breakfast" they advertise as included in the room fee and provided is also non-existent. We understand that there are restrictions when covid was happening but ALL restrictions have been lifted for some time. We are not even sure why it is not listed. All of these amenities are listed on their site as being offered and included- Beware-- they are NOT. The TV in the room did not work and no one knew how to fix it. So, we did not have a functioning TV for our entire stay. When night time came the lights for the walkway in front of our room did not come on and there were no other lights to see by. We had to use our phone lights to see our way up the stairs and to our rooms. read more

Our family has stayed here for many years. New owners this year and we were so disappointed. The staff was nice but the property has gone down hill. No trash barrels anywhere, trash left in bags in front of rooms overnight, mice running around, vending machine's aren't even filled, the pool is open but not clean at all, a few chairs around the pool but no tables or umbrellas. No adirondack chairs to sit in on the property. The property used to be meticulously maintained, the grounds are over gown with weeds and so many mosquitos because of it. No daily room cleaning and the breakfast choices were not even fresh. We will not be back here. read more

Stayed here for one night last weekend and the room smelled like cat piss. Towels are rough like sand paper and the people next to us were smoking outside their room and we could smell the smoke coming into ours and we had our door/windows closed. AC needs some work- blew out very little air and the bed was like sleeping on rocks. You can get a better place for $200 a night than this. read more

My husband and I have stayed at the Milestone a couple of times since I wrote my original review, and I'm happy to report that our recent experiences have been worlds different than the first! I'm so glad we gave this place another try. Staff is friendly and attentive, and the rooms we've stayed in have been clean and comfortable. This was my first time staying at The Milestone and I have zero complaints. Absolutely everything was good! Check in was quick and easy, front desk girls are very welcoming. Hotel is right near the town center (where I usually stay). There is a trolley stop right in front of the hotel and that has to be the biggest plus for me!! Hotel room was big and spacious. I liked the area where I was (secluded, in the back). Free breakfast every morning (basic coffee, juice, bagels, muffins, cereal). All staff was kind and friendly. Pool & jacuzzi are great. Many places to eat right near the hotel. Also, close to Footbridge beach!! Check out was also quick and easy, front desk girl made sure everything was good and told me to come back again!! Very reasonably priced room on a Monday in mid October. I can see it being nice during the summer. Our balcony faced the water and the room itself was very spacious. It's a couple hours away from Portland and other major cities are even further. But for $55 a night beats $200 in the city. read more

We are here for a wedding in Wells. The hotel nice and clean we booked an extra night after we checked into our room. I called the front desk and they moved some stuff around so we didn't have to change rooms. I can't stay enough good things about the staff A+. We will stay again! read more

Room was appeared clean and ready for stay..bed was comfortable and very nice shower..very happy with our welcome in..disappointment over a few things..when the air conditioning was turned on, had odor of cat pee. Also we brought in a couple of baked goods we had gotten with intent to eat in the morning. When we woke and opened the box, the baked goods had tiny ants in them. Only stayed one night, upon checkout the guy at the desk wrote down what I said, but other could have really cared less that there were issues. Oh and when my girlfriend went to turn off the air conditioner which is up close to the ceiling, the cover flew off and crashed to the floor. Did I mention that the cost of the room with convenience fees and tax on Labor Day weekend was almost $400?? I understand covid inflation, lack of help and lost revenue, but c'mon. That's a lot of money, for the overall experience. You can do better. read more

We usually stayed at the Juniper Hill, but the week we went 8/21/19 Juniper was booked so we stayed here. I liked it as much as the Juniper (they are related). It is alot farther to town - a mile - but worth the walk, and on the way back we took the trolley. The breakfast was good except I really wish they would've had fat free yogurt, but that's my thing. Nice hotel, not overly priced, good for families. Short walk to the footbridge beach (which in my opinion is the better beach in Ogunquit). Trolley stop is right outside. Although we decided to walk the mile into town. Rooms were clean, but mattress wasn't very comfortable and pillows were flat and need to be replaced. read more

We stayed here one night while driving from Boston to Portland. What an excellent find! Makes me regret booking other places in advance. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was super nice -- seems like we got a brand new room. It was extremely clean, large, and the heating/cooling system was quiet. The beds were nice and firm. We took a family get away and reserved three rooms together. The staff was very accommodating and friendly - everyone from the hotel staff to the housekeeping staff! It a very short walk to the beach and a family friendly pool on site. The trolley stops right in front too! The only down side is the walls are thin and I hope we didn't scare anyone away with our three little ones. read more

Very nice place. Close to shopping and the beach. Stayed in a room with double beds which were very comfortable. The rooms were clean and neat. Flat screen TV, we happened to have our laptop which we hooked up to the tv via the hdmi cable there and watched netflix via their free wifi. The bathrooms were very clean, nice shower and toilet. Two moisterizing soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion from bath & body works which smelled really nice. There was also a small fridge, iron and board, hangers, and coffee pot. There were two coffee cups, sugar, coffee etc included which we didn't end up using which was nice. Breakfast was included from 7 to 10 am. Stamps and towels could be retrieved from the front desk. The brouchure in the room had a free postcard, yellow pages in bedside table pretty much anything you might need. You could put a sign on the door to request maid service or not to be disturbed. The pool is open till 10 pm and includes an awesome hot tub. Nice customer service as I forgot my glasses there, they called our cell (after we had left) to let us know. They mailed them to the address I gave and took my email which let me track the package. I will update when I get the glasses just in case! I recommend going there. read more

We had been vacationing on Lake Winnisquam for many years when the resort we used to stay at sold(tried it the first year & left after 2 days:stay was for 5 days!!!) asking co-workers & friends, a lot of them suggested we try Ogunquit Beach. I went on line & found the Milestone! The best review I can give them is that my husband(who is never the type to be completely satisfied) loved the place so much that before we left, he suggested we rebook for next Summer! The beaches were great, easy to get around and staying @ the Milestone was relaxing & restful! Even the grandkids enjoyed their stay! All around great place! We will definately go back. read more

Things started well and we were initially quite pleased. When we left I accidentally left my three month old Samsung Galaxy Tablet in the room. The next day I was quite pleased to receive a phone call saying that I had left the Tablet in the room and that The Milestone had it. I was impressed by their honesty. UNFORTUNATELY that's where the honesty ends. I called the front desk about 2 days later to ask if it could be mailed to me. I was informed that "Someone had already come and picked it up." Well no one in my family was even in Maine at that point so I asked if I could please have the name of the person who picked it up. I'm told no name was taken, they claim they simply turned over my tablet to someone without asking for photo ID or even a name, or a phone call to me verifying I asked that person to pick it up. That's what I got. Apparently they knew it was expensive enough ($550.00) to keep in their safe but did not see a reason to ask for identification when this unknown person picked it up. I have called and been told there is nothing they can do since "someone wrote in the book" that it had been picked up. Again, no name taken, no photo id check, no phone call to me to check that I wanted it released to anyone, they just decided to give it away. Of course another possibility is that someone with access to the safe's code took it out and brought it home for themselves. Needless to say I will be contacting the police as they left a message stating they had it in their possession and then just decided to "give" it to someone who said they were picking it up. But only staff and my family knew that The Milestone had it. DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT TRUST THAT YOUR THINGS ARE SAFE OR THAT STAFF IS HONEST AND RESPONSIBLE. I'M INTERESTED TO HEAR WHAT THE POLICE WILL HAVE TO SAY AS I INTEND TO FILE A REPORT WITH THEM. BUT PLEASE CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!! STAY AWAY! PS Should The Milestone either 'recover' my tablet or reimburse me the 550.00 I'm out, I will definitely post an update but for now, tell everyone you know that this is not a safe or honest place. Well, the first person who called was honest but after that it was all down hill from there. STAY AWAY!!! read more

My first time at the Milestone was pleasant- rooms were nice and the location was great. Almost everything is within walking distance. The continental breakfast was a nice feature, although we only ate there once. The room was a little pricey, but when you consider that it is peak beach season and the location of the motel, it is well worth it. I would definitely return to the Milestone. read more
