Without question and hesitation clearly the installers Angel and Junior went far above and beyond what an average company employee would do without question. A lot of things can be promised by a salesman and not fulfilled. These two professional installers made sure on a Saturday and returning on their day off, a Sunday to complete the job. And to complete the job right. It's easy to be hesitant in this day and age to be able to trust a company. But these two gentlemen are the mission statement of this company. I would never hesitate to use this company again if these two professionals were involved with my job. Thank you gentlemen for a job well done.

The refrigerant isn't even flammable. Most systems take about 6-gallons or so. You guys wanted $1200 plus $200 a gallon for refrigerant. I was finally able to get numbers out of you. So absurd. I did it all for about $700 and have enough refrigerant for 3 more years. It was going to cost me $2400 in total to go with you guys. No need at all.

Michael handled all the business and clearly explained to me in my home what equipment options were available (all Lennox via Costco) and what payment options and benefits were available to Costco members. I took a few different estimates from other companies and although I found comparable equipment and installations that might have priced out cheaper than Around the Clock, the benefits received from Costco for CostcoCash along with direct cash refunds made them very appealing. Michael is very patient in the process of answering any and all questions regarding the equipment, installation, etc. The installation was smooth and painless. The team of two installers were polite and professional. They worked clean which is greatly appreciated. The installation took about a day and a half. End result: I'm very satisfied with my experience with Around the Clock. A very professional installation with great customer service. The new system has completely transformed the comfort level of my home. It's already been battle tested in this SGV summer and I couldn't be happier. If you're on the fence in deciding whether or not Around the Clock is a vendor you'd like to use, I whole heartedly recommend them.

Wanting to make sure everything was addressed properly, we contacted several HVAC companies for evaluations. Unfortunately, many of them recommended expensive repairs and upgrades that would have cost us thousands of dollars. Then we called Around the Clock for an additional quote. Michael came out and gave us a completely different experience. He performed a thorough inspection of the system and, instead of trying to sell us services we didn't need, he was honest and straightforward. He explained that our HVAC system was functioning properly and that no repairs were necessary. In today's world, it's not often that you find someone who values honesty over making a sale. Michael saved us thousands of dollars in unnecessary expenses and gave us peace of mind about our new home. His professionalism, knowledge, and integrity were truly refreshing. If you're looking for an HVAC company you can trust, I highly recommend Michael Around the Clock.

Instead of a review, let's call this a report card. In January a man knocked on my door. He was…read morethere from Service Genius to let me know that the LADWP and the South Coast AQMD "GO ZERO" program had amazing rebates I could take advantage of. With a $12,500 rebate from one, and a $3,000 rebate from the other, they would install a brand new, state of the art mini-split AC/Heat Pump system that ordinarily cost $15,900... FOR JUST $400!! I told him I already owned a recently purchased $7,000 AC unit and had a working heater, so even if it was a great deal I didn't need it. He told me the mini-split system would lower my electric bills and my heater was over 10 years old and would need replacing soon anyway. I was still skeptical about the rebates, so I said no, thank you. Days later, after I did some heavy research on my own and found everything he had told me about the rebates was legit, I asked him to come back to answer a few last questions. Even with all my vetting I told him I wouldn't sign a contract unless I was protected if, for any reason, I did not receive the rebates. He contacted a 2nd representative who came over to assure me I would be reimbursed if that happened. I RECORDED that conversation and filed it away... just in case. They explained if I didn't have the funds to pay them up front (and who does) I could take out a loan from a company they made a deal with. Service Genius was paid the financed amount, and I owe GreenSky $15,900 with up to 12 months to pay with no finance charges. That's a frightening amount of debt for someone on a fixed income. But I was encouraged not to worry because they had done this dozens of times and their customers had always received their rebates. They were certain that after the installation and an inspection the following week from LADBS, I'd get a $12,500 check 2 to 3 weeks later to pay off the loan... easy peasy. They would even fill out all the paperwork and submit it for me. The $3,000 rebate would come even sooner. I agreed for them to go ahead. Today is Aug. 8. Here's where things stand: 1. In the 3rd week of Feb. Service Genius hauled away my new $7,000 AC unit and installed their newer system. 2. In March the system failed the first inspection. 3. In May I was told the GO ZERO $3,000 rebate program has been put on "pause" and to keep checking to see when it would be reinstated (if ever). 4. By the end of July, the LADBS inspector had made three trips here and the system still hasn't passed. It's been 6 months and I still have not received the $12,500 LADWP rebate or the $3,000 one. Two weeks ago I became nervous and went back to check my paperwork. I discovered that what they had emailed me was a signed estimate, not the contract I remembered signing. I've called the office almost every day since then asking to speak with someone who has the authority to confirm that I would be protected if the system failed to qualify for the rebates. I was repeatedly told that someone would contact me. No one has yet, so I requested a copy of the signed contract from the person who answered the phone. I discovered that the written language does not say what I understood their representatives had promised me. Fortunately, that's the conversation I recorded in which those assurances were made verbally. So far, this company's grade is a resounding F. I will update this review to report exactly what Service Genius does--or does not do--to get this system through inspection and obtain the rebates I was promised when I agreed to this purchase. As things stand today, I have financed $15,900 for a system I agreed to purchase because I was told my FINAL OUT-OF-POCKET COST would be $400. Until this is resolved and I can change their grade to an A, prospective customers should know exactly what has happened to me before agreeing to a similar rebate-financed installation.

He immediately insisted (more like demanded) that we needed new ducts as well as a new system. When I told him that we wanted a unit with a higher SEER rating for energy efficiency and lower electric bills, he dismissed my suggestion as if I was stupid for even asking about it. My guess is that they have some sort of deal with Goodman, because that is the brand that they forced on us. What was the grand total you ask? Over $20,000. And that was 8 years ago! Not only did they NOT replace all of the ducts (like they said they would) their installation was the most Mickey Mouse-looking trash I have ever seen. They must have put at least 5 pounds of mastic tape around the unit to try and seal it up and it still leaked cold air after a week of use. These are scam artists masquerading as professionals. Even after that ordeal was over, they would call us constantly, year after year, telling us we needed to pay for a tech to come out and service our system. Besides hosing off our compressor unit with our own garden hose, the only thing their tech ever did was aggressively try to sell us on more services. They never once opened up the unit to clean the coils. They never once topped off the coolant. They never even cleaned out the condensate pipe. 8 years later and I am paying the price with outrageous cooling bills, a leaky unit that is more mastic than air conditioner, and a clogged condensate line that I had to clean out myself (it took about 5 minutes once I had the right tool). Do not let these people into your home. There is a reason that you see so many one-star reviews among the four and five-star ones. Do not disregard those reviews (they are real people). This company will take advantage of anybody who is not particularly knowledgeable about HVAC. They are pushy and rude; they will try to sell you products and services that you do not need. They will continue to harass you with phone calls for years afterwards. Stay away. Stay far, far away.
