It's a few blocks away from the ocean. The grass is very green and nice for picnics. Dogs must be on leashes. I thought the mini picnic tables for kids was really cute. I got lots of recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in for this park. The bad: The bathrooms were blocked off so I used the portable potties by the parking lot. The potties were very full and smelled more than average. I was hoping for a park without sand because my daughter loves sand so much and always ends up only playing in sand and making a mess. The interesting: The cement slides are very fast so be cautious! The parking lot has a six hour limit.

It was a beautiful day, and many other people were enjoying the near perfect weather and all the space the park has. There were at least three different kids' birthday parties going on, but they didn't interfere with one another, because Valley Park has multiple areas with picnic tables. It has a huge playground, a basketball court, and what seem like acres of grass to play on. There are also lots of trees for shade. As I said, I found parking almost right away, on Morningside Drive, but that meant a long walk for me, as the path from the western side of the park takes a rather circuitous route past the playground and the basketball court to the group of tables I wanted to sit at (the only ones completely unoccupied when I arrived). I could have taken a direct route through the grass, but that would have meant walking through a kids' soccer game and some of groups of kids playing. Most of the parking is along the two streets that form the northern boundary of the park, but I could see the street from where I was sitting, and those spots didn't open up often, and when they did, they were quickly taken. It got a bit windy as the afternoon passed, so I had to go chasing some napkins and the lid of one of my deli delectables at times, but it really is a nice, well maintained park. I didn't use the bathroom, but I did see quite a few moms taking their kids into them, so I'm assuming they couldn't have been that disgusting. Speaking of the bathrooms, it would be great if this Yelp listing could have a different, less puke-inducing cover photo. Please click on some other photos, people!

The trail consists of wood chips, which makes the run a little more difficult, but it's better for your knees. The trail is surrounded by trees and bushes, so you don't even notice the traffic or cars on the either side. It's never too crowded, and the scenery just makes your run/walk so peaceful. Just be careful when crossing the street while running :)

What a treat I'll tell ya. Plenty of benches available to take a seat and enjoy the view or you can lounge back under a tall palm on the grassy knolls that Noble Park is made out of. That is the route I choose and it was quite delightful. As people rode by on bikes, ran by getting fit or taking a stroll with mans best friend it was surprisingly peaceful in the park. You could see all the action but could barely hear it. Truly a hidden oasis in the middle of the busy beach.

I'm here to review the basketball courts…read more I call it Clark too, like Joan mentioned. Maybe it's a South Bay thing? Anyways, I play here at least once a month. The pictures from the west side of the baseball field are NOT the courts I'm referring to. They have nice courts directly across from the tennis courts. The rims are double rim, so don't expect a friendly bounce. This place used to pop off on the weekends, but not so much recently. Maybe summer needs to be in full swing before this picks back up. I can however, guarantee you a pickup game during the week. Show up around 5:30pm to make sure you're one of the first 10. Here are some house rules: 1) First game is to 13, win by 2. 2) All other games are to 11, win by 2. 3) All 1 point shots. 4) Call your own fouls Make sure to make it known that you have next game. Sometimes people will quietly mention they have next game to a couple people, and in the meantime another group has done the same thing. This can cause some disagreements. There is consistently 1 full court game going on, and if it's really crowded both full courts we be used. It's a great place to play. Everyone is competitive, but it never gets over the top. Sometimes people will argue calls for a minute, but I've never seen a fight here or anything.

I found plenty of free street parking across the street and all around the neighborhood instead. After nearly getting hit by a car a few times and getting approached by an intoxicated looking homeless or two, we finally made it to the park. And then that's when we discovered that the place is NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Omg! At first, I thought I saw the signs wrong and had to actually go up close to it. I also witnessed a bunch of other dog owners walking around the park with their dogs but many had them not leashed. That's when it dawned on me why the park has a no dog allowed policy. It's honestly very infuriating when people are so blatantly disrespectful about park policies and other people's safety. Not to mention the dog shit everywhere that really shouldn't have been there. Ugh. And that was enough of LA County shenanigans for me that day.

The bleachers near the baseball field were typical of the other Redondo Beach parks...comfortable enough to sit on for a couple of hours. But no shade, so wear a hat and sunglasses.
