Love this trail. It's shaded and cool thanks to the ocean's proximity. Left a few inspirational rocks in gratitude and to pay forward my many blessings.

In the midst of this crazy thing we call life, it's all too easy to lose sight of what's really important. I call this phenomenon, "Straying away from who you really are." Now in MY life, there are a few things that have worked to get me a one way ticket back to "who I really am." One of those things is meditation (courtesy of Brainsync & Dr. Deepak Chopra). Another one of those things is fitness, though it's more of a complementing side dish rather than a main course. The last is communing with nature. The first way I like to commune with nature (and is the most convenient) is by walking out of my house barefoot and heading straight for the ocean which is about a 30 second walk from my front door .... But sometimes it can get old (and cold) when Barbie Six-Pack is screaming nearby reminding me that if I turn my head around, there's still a concrete utopia awaiting my precious time, energy & hard earned money. Another way I like to commune with nature is by immersing myself into the forest. Unfortunately, Hermosa Beach doesn't have an available forest for me to go all hippie in, so that's when I turn to the Greenbelt. With it's lush trees and wood chip path, it's butterflies, birds and blooming flowers in an array of colors, it's fresh scent of pine and nectar, it really is the next best thing to the forest. It's the path I walk home from everyday after the gym. It's the path that helps me get right with myself. It's the path I choose...

My favorite place to go running. Its therapy for my body and soul. I'm surrounded by huge trees and wild flowers and its free.

Really lovely path to go for a walk or jog on. Lots of trees and pretty wide space for being between two roads.

One of my favorite places to take my pup. Relaxing vibes, nice clean trail, responsible dog owners. A quick walk to the Beach

Great for runs. Only downfall is that I got bites on my ankles. I'm not sure from what, but maybe fleas? Has anyone else had this problem?

1 star off for the parking lot which is small and the spaces are super tight. Also if you go in and…read morethere are no spots you have to somehow carefully turn around to exit the way you entered. My Google Maps also took us to the wrong location but luckily I have no qualms with asking locals where it is The park itself is fun. It had a huge grass area to run around. The two slides that are stone are tall and fast but super fun. There is a cool rope obstacle course Definitely a nice park to visit once you get out of your park

The good: This park has sand, squishy mat, and wood chips…read more There's a fun metal roller slide, a climbing gym, swings, picnic benches with shade, a community garden, flat sidewalk areas for scooters, a seesaw for 4 people, a bridge, and more. It's a few blocks away from the ocean. The grass is very green and nice for picnics. Dogs must be on leashes. I thought the mini picnic tables for kids was really cute. I got lots of recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in for this park. The bad: The bathrooms were blocked off so I used the portable potties by the parking lot. The potties were very full and smelled more than average. I was hoping for a park without sand because my daughter loves sand so much and always ends up only playing in sand and making a mess. The interesting: The cement slides are very fast so be cautious! The parking lot has a six hour limit.

We USED to love Seaview Park. My firstborn learned how to walk here, pushing a little wooden push…read moretoy someone was nice enough to 'donate' to the park's collection of toys. What's good about this park is that it is 100% enclosed by a chicken wire fence. Or at least it used to. There is now a 2'x2' whole in a side of the fence that is facing Prospect Ave. Another good thing about this park is that there are always toys for young kids to play with. The unspoken agreement is that you bring your old toys here for others to enjoy. No taking them home, please! There is also a water spout for the water table / sand pit. This can be a pro and con as some kids use this as a tool of mass terror. What I dislike most about this park is that it's become bad nanny squatter central. I don't mind that these nannies bring lawn chairs and cover the entire north side of the park, gossiping loudly for hours - it's a public park for everyone to enjoy. I DO MIND TERRIBLY that they do not look after those in their care, they litter and they don't pick up afterwards. They leave small pieces of trash (plastic covers of juice box straws, water bottle tops, yogurt tops) that get stuck in the grass. Of course, my little one sees it, picks it up and puts it in his mouth. Those lazy bad nannies! #$&%@#!!! A friend said they saw a nanny peeing behind a bush. There are no bathrooms here and certainly no areas where you can afford to have a puddle without a kid eventually stepping in it. Totally revolting! YUCK!!! What a way to ruin a local gem. We now come here once on a blue moon now, even though we live just blocks away. That and I'll never look at a nanny the same way...

Sea View Park has no sea view, haha. The hedges are so high, it would be impossible even if it was…read morean otherwise unobstructed vantage point (see photo). The hedges block out the view of Prospect Ave. too, and the street noise...a good thing. It insures that the little space is quiet and secluded. I never knew it was there, actually, until I found it by accident. It gets better: the park is a pesticide free zone. Good, 'cause all there is inside the fenced area is a kids playground. No potty, no nothin' 'cept that, and a grassy space, and some big beautiful trees. Oh, and a small picnic area with one bar-b-q. It's quite nice for a neighborhood park. On Saturday there was only one visitor when I was there, a woman reading a book. 6 photos
