Sea Ridge Cafe is a family-run operation doing business at a Serra Mesa office complex. It was very difficult to find where the cafe was located within the cluster of buildings. Only a sidewalk sign placed adjacent to a parking lot gave an indication that I was on the right trail. After getting out of my vehicle and walking around randomly, I finally came across an entrance to the correct address where Sea Ridge Cafe was based. I must have approached from the back side as I had to walk through a conference room before arriving. The dining area was made up of a combination of small tables and sofas. You could also eat/drink outside at a central patio between a few of the buildings. Coffee, tea, and smoothies were the beverage offerings. Breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, burritos, and signature sandwiches made up the food choices. I chose an item from the last category which was a Rosemary Ham & Turkey on an Italian roll. Besides the two deli meats, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, and stone-ground mustard were the ingredients. The size of the sandwich resembled what you can purchase at the deli section of a local supermarket. It wasn't quite 12 inches in length, however it was thicker because of the bread shape. A few more slices of ham and turkey would have made the product a better value for the price. The service was very friendly from the staff as they were wrapping up near closing time. I gave a four star rating for my takeout order from Sea Ridge Cafe.

This coffee shop is absolutely amazing!!! My girls and I went right after our bachelorette party and we all got breakfast and coffee. The staff is super friendly and so are the owners. I had the best latte of my entire life which was the strawberry mocha latte! We also had amazing food, including the breakfast burrito and avocado toast! I so wish it was closer to me but we are in LA! We will definitely be back next time we are in San Diego.

Tried Sea Ridge as it's just up the street from where I live. Lived the clean look and the friendly staff. I ordered an ice hazelnut ice coffee with Oat Milk and it was delicious. Really enjoyed it and will be back to try their sandwiches next.

This was surprisingly the best latte I've had...ever! This latte was just the right amount of everything and it couldn't have been more perfect. They use local coffee beans and ingredients which most likely why this was the best latte I've ever had. I wish I was hungry, so I could get the delicious burritos and sandwiches they had. The service couldn't have been anymore perfect! They were so nice to help me find the perfect coffee for me, and whipped up my latte quickly. This cafe is the best and I will 1000 percent comeback to grab another coffee and try the food!

We stopped by at around 8:20am today and there were only a few people in line. Service was welcoming and kind! They had an assortment of baked goods + empanadas as well as a great matcha/coffee menu. There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

The staff were awesome and super friendly. I got the Mia-mor Latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese, and both hit the spot. One major bonus: they only charge $0.50 extra for oat milk! Most other coffee shops charge $1.00 or more now, so that was a really nice surprise. They also gave me a stamp card for future visits, which I'll definitely be using. Will absolutely be back!

You can immediately tell this is a place built by people who genuinely love what they do. Wonderful staff, incredible hospitality, and a proud culture that deserves to be shared with the world. I absolutely love the fava bean open sandwich. I almost always go for the Arab cold brew, and their Karak is fantastic as well. The Turkish coffee is completely on point. I'm a huge fan. Places like this make many of us proud of our backgrounds, and I truly hope Finjan continues to grow into every corner of San Diego -- and eventually across the country.

It was so good I've recommended it to a bunch of people, so I decided to check out the original Kearny Mesa spot out of respect. In my head, the first location should be even better since that's where it started, but that wasn't the case at all and it ended up being pretty disappointing. I ordered online and it showed a 19 minute wait for just a drink, which felt long for around 6:30 in the morning. I placed it anyway, but when I got there the plaza was basically empty. It's in a quieter area near military and recruitment offices. My drink was already sitting at the pickup counter with my name on it, so I was in and out in seconds. There is some outdoor seating with music playing, which is nice, but I didn't stay long. I ordered the same matcha I got in Mission Valley because it was that memorable. The only difference was dairy milk instead of oat milk, but that shouldn't have changed it this much. The color was the first red flag. It was super light, almost pale green, instead of that bright vibrant green you expect from good matcha. You can usually tell quality just from that. The taste didn't match either. The Mission Valley one had a strong matcha flavor with a slight sweetness from the date syrup, and the knafeh cold foam pulled everything together. This one tasted weak and kind of flat. The cold foam was still good and tasted the same, but that's only a small part of the drink and not enough to save it. Now I'm honestly confused because I've been recommending this drink to people and if they came to this location first, their experience would be completely different. It just didn't live up to what I had before. I'll probably go back to the Mission Valley spot to see if that version is actually the standard, but this one left me pretty let down.

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.
