Such a cool place! "I got fish, I got water!" And he's right! Fresh caught that morning so it changes everyday and throughout the day. "You pay me $20 (CASH) and then it starts!" And he's right! Comes in a brown bag you tear open to lay out like a place mat. You get one hefty skewer with your choice of the fish of the day. Comes with a ziplock snack bag of tartare sauce. It's thin. But the fish is SO good it doesn't really matter. He has hot sauces, salt and malt vinegar. You pick what you want. We tried it all. Great thin batter keeps the fish the main focus. We tried yellow eye and ling cod. SO GOOD! Such a fun experience. He takes your order makes it and doesn't start the next person until yours is delivered. Go! read more

Ok, it's not the trendiest or fanciest place to order Alaskan King Crab, but it was delicious! My husband had halibut & fries, and enjoyed his as well! Great food & perfectly prepared. Good service too. read more

A rare find. A one man operation with cash only prices. Fish was fried and oh so flavorful and delicious. A long wait, but worth it.

Absolutely the best fish in town! Fresh, flavorful and unique! Everyone needs a Sea Daddy'!

This place was hopping and had such good reviews on Yelp that we walked past two or three other places that we were interested in eating to go to there It was about twice as much as we had paid the other stops in Alaska for the same thing and the food was really not good read more

this owner is amazing. This is a cash only establishment and he is open. He works so hard to provide good food. He gave us two sticks for the price of one. If you are looking for a local place to eat, give sea daddy a chance cruisers!! You won't be disappointed. He puts his heart and soul into his food. read more

This was no question the best fried fish I have ever had. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Sitka. read more

We trekked from downtown to Seadaddy, and worth the walk. It is unassuming when you first walk up, but as you go around the corner to the entrance you are transported back into the past/history of Sitka. "Scotty" or Scott Saline is the owner, he is super kind and welcoming. He cooks to order, and the catch's are fresh!! He explains what he has to offer that day, and currently only CASH ONLY! He's off the grid tech wise. The place is beautiful decorated and open from 11-7pm daily during tourist season. Entrance is a bit hidden and seating is 6 top. read more

Super small and off of the beaten path kinda place. The fish was really great! The owner chatted with us for quite a bit at the only table in the place which was really cool! He told us all about the history of Sitka too. Really cool experience read more

Service was great. Location easish to find. Eclectic decor. Worth the stop. Good stories. Reasonable price, $20 a skewer

If I could I would rate this 6 out of 5 stars. At first I was dubious of Sea Daddy just based on the looks outside. Once we met the owner he was genuinely a nice guy. Unfortunately we did not know it was cash only but between the few of us scrounged up $40 and bought his battered fish on stick. My sister had first bite and said OMG this just melts in her mouth. At this point this point I was hangry and it was finally my turn and the moment I ate the fish, it just melted. WOW! Other worldly so delicious, the batter wasn't heavy and thick like most other batter fish, just light and airy, tasty, fresh and what ever else that would put his fish on a pedestal. Best fish I've ever had hands down. If you go (bring cash $20/stick). So not only did we regret not having cash on us but the owner was so kind he even let us try a stick of his fresh fried shrimp which was equally as delicious. If ever visiting Sitka whether on cruise (like us) or traveling there go to Sea Daddy, you won't regret it. Then do what I did and leave an awesome review for the owner and let the world know that such a magical place exists in Sitka. read more

Cruising and stopped in Sitka. Took a few minutes to run by and grab a snack. Wonderful taste, perfectly breaded and fried. Interesting stories and the owner even spotted a sea lion behind the location and alerted us to it. Wonderful experience! read more

Sea Daddy is a bit of an out of the way place when you get to Sitka. About a 10-15 min walk from the cruise ship bus terminal in the downtown area. We went at 11am for opening, however we did find out that Scotty the owner opens when he is ready. The sign on the door stated to come back around noonish. As an owner, Scotty is a colorful character with great stories. As a chef, he is an absolute master with fried fish. The yellow eye and halibut skewers were unbelievably crispy, tender and juicy. His homemade sauce was creamy, tart and paired perfectly with the fish. While some might say that the $20 per skewer is pricey, however in my opinion it was a small price to pay for amazing food and some interesting stories. Sea Daddy is well worth the walk and the price for the skewers. Kudos to Scotty! read more

Recently was in Sitka on an Alaskan Cruise and heard about Sea Daddies! The building was interestin, but eclectic ! The food was excellent and Scotty the owner came out and talked with us for awhile interesting man! He was Submariner like me and we discussed some sea stories and talked about Admiral,Rickover the father of the Nuclear Navy! Would recommend Sea Daddies if you're in Sitka! Great food! You can only order what he just caught. Delicious and as fresh as you can get. This is the real deal if you're looking for an authentic local place to eat. be warned there are only 4 seats but even if you have to stand the food is worth it. The owner is extremely friendly, outgoing, and very interesting. He could talk your ear off about local history for hours if you have time. Will definitely go again. read more

I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous when I saw the place but I am SO glad we walked in. The reviews are accurate! The owner is very friendly and will tell you stories about the history of Sitka, while your very fresh fish cooks. There is no menu. You eat what he just caught. $20 per person. It's only fish, nothing else. And it is absolutely delicious. It comes in a paper bag and a ziplock of tartar sauce. Walk down to Ernie's Saloon (they allow you to bring in food) and pair it with a local beer. It's a perfect lunch! read more

Very eclectic artsy place where Alaskan up-cycle is in full effect. The proprietor was an interesting fellow knowledgable about historical & current affairs in Sitka. Scotty is also an elected official trying to do right by his constituents, something many folks are fighting in a losing battle in America today. Onto the cuisine: we ordered yellow-eye & cod which were freshly fried in a light batter and the tartar was freshly made with Hellmann's mayo. Japanese mayo is superior but for this application, this was fine. The fish was wonderful and fresh. it is not cheap and no chips with those fish but dang that fish is good. $20 for one skewer of perhaps the freshest tasting fried fish you may have ever had. My younger son said it was the best piece of fish he ever had. Scotty said we could take his canoe for a ride while he made our lunch. Next time Scotty! I would love to see this place expand and succeed, rooting for the underdog. Cash Only read more

A once in a lifetime experience. Not a five star restaurant at all but would most certainly go back again. The food alone makes it worthwhile. No menu, just whatever he caught that morning is what you get. We had yellow eye and halibut. And samples of cod. There are no sides, just fish on a kebab stick. No plates, no utensils. There are a total of five chairs in the place, and one very knowledgeable fisherman that gave is a history lesson of Sitka. read more

A-mazingly good fish. Cool setup and owner is a character. A bit pricey, might have special tourist price, but worth it. Would have gone again if we had more days in Sitka. read more

This is a hidden gem! We walked here and thought we were about to go to a big restaurant. We came upon what looked like a run down shack. Upon entering, you see a mish mash of decor ranging from articles to photos to maps. The owner is super friendly and helpful. He said they only have Yellow Eye and halibut. We decided to try the Yellow Eye. It was amazing! The owner prepared a skewer of about 5 small battered pieces of Yellow Eye on a skewer along with a handmade dip made of lemon, malt vinegar and onion: all in a cup. He then proceeded to give us a little history of the area. This was a great find in Sitka. There are only 5 seats so be prepared to take your fish skewer to go. This is by no means fancy. It is literally a hole in the wall, but the food is fresh and tastes great. Cash only. read more

The kind of place that brings the "soul" to your trip in Alaska. I found this place on TikTok and ran my mom to come try it before our cruise left. Fish was amazing, we had the lingcod. So fresh. We were talking to local lady next to us and she was just telling us about this place and Scotty. This place is a gem if you're looking for a local, authentic place. It's $20 per skewer and cash only. Scotty told us that he pays for this parking spot space but he hopes to get this place going and have a full restaurant like bubba gump. It's well worth walking here and make sure you have time because it's only him working and you will want to hear his stories! read more

This place was the most amusing and most delicious meal we had in Sitka. You'll look at it from the outside and either laugh or think I'm crazy, both are fair. The owner is a treat and he'll offer you to take his canoe out while ya wait. The fish was the most tender I've ever had; incredible. He provided cups of water while we waited, but didn't have any sides - I'm not sure about other drinks. 6oz of fish for $20 is one of the better "deals" in AK. There's one table for 4 "inside" so maybe take it to go. read more

Saw this place on Tik Tok and thought we'd give it a try. It's a bit off the beaten path but totally worth the walk! The establishment has a unique vibe. The owner was very friendly and cooked the fish fresh to order. He only serves fish on a stick but he's doing something right because it was amazing. My husband said it was the best fish he ever had. After reading reviews my wife & I made a point to visit Sea Daddy as our cruise ship arrived on 10/21/2024. Scotty greeted us with a shocked surprise and said, "I didn't know another 'Love Boat' was in town? We were on the last ship of the season. He told us he was not expecting customers, but was quick to shift gears and start cooking a variety of fresh seafood choices. I have fished, eaten and cooked seafood for over 30 years and Scotty is as authentic as they come. He served us King Salmon, Spot Prawns, Ling Cod and Rockfish. A light, flavorful batter surrounded the perfectly cooked seafood. "Fish on a Stick". Homemade tartar sauce and a slice of lemon completed the meal. If you are looking for the real deal, this is it. Don't let the physical structure scare you away, Scotty is 'working' on it. read more
