Excellent food. Service was very efficient. You will likely need to find somewhere else to consume this delectable food, since the neighboring food truck owner wants to lay claim to the entire territory and posts more road signs saying "no outside food". For that reason alone, try Ashmo first. You won't be disappointed. read more

The food truck had moved from where I think it was originally. There was a sign pointing us to the right direction though. We actually copied someone else's order. Food was quick to be ready and delicious. Nothing fancy but you don't need fancy when you have great taste that doesn't matter. (We had black cod tips (extra cod tips) read more

Ashmo's - Black cod tips. Not my best photo but so yummy I promise - Food Trucks Near Me - Sitka, Alaska

The food I ordered was amazing. I ordered the Black Cod Tips over Coconut Cilantro Jasmin rice. Lingcod Sandwich and the Smoked Salmon Mac n Cheese. They did a great job getting really good food out of a food truck. The service was good and my only negative comment was that the young lady taking the orders could not explain what black cod tips are and what lingcod is. They had a nice little set up outside of the food truck. This is definitely a place to stop for a nice fresh perfectly cooked fish. read more

Our party of four had the black cod tips, salmon mac & cheese, rockfish tacos, and rockfish fish and chips. The black cod tips got two thumbs up from our companions and we all enjoyed the salmon mac & cheese (it was very tasty). The rockfish in the Fish and Chips was beer battered and cooked nicely (not overdone), and the coating was ok, not great (I like a thinner coating). The "chips" were ordinary extruded fries that didn't do anything for me. The fish tacos were ok. There didn't seem to be a lot of fish in them. (By comparison, the halibut tacos from The Fresh Fish AK truck at the same location had a lot of fish and were more enjoyable.) This is a very popular spot for cruise passengers and can get crowded when a ship is in port, which was the case when we were there. Our order took a long time, but we enjoyed the live music at the adjacent outdoor bar while we waited. read more

Explored town during a cruise stop and heard about this place from our shuttle bus driver. He recommended the smoked salmon Mac n Cheese and I knew I had to try this place! It's a little food truck on one of the main touristy streets of Sitka and it's parked by a movie theater. They do have tables you can stand and eat at. Very simple menu and a very friendly cashier. Food came out at a decent time. I ordered the smoked salmon Mac n Cheese and it was probably one of the best Mac n Cheeses I've ever had. The cavatappi noodles really held onto the cheese so that you had a generous amount of cheese with every bite. The breadcrumbs were also a nice contrast in texture. There were very small pieces of smoked salmon throughout that added a good texture too. To be honest, I didn't taste the salmon much, just a hint of salmon flavor here and there. No fishy taste at all! Not sure if it was because it was that fresh or the flavors of the cheeses overpowered it since the pieces were so small. But I really enjoyed it overall! 5/5 My family got the fish n chips and fish tacos and they all really enjoyed them! I'd say it's more of a snack kind of truck in regard to portions. Prices are a little high for the portions BUT I feel like it's quality, fresh food so it's worth it! Overall, this little truck has some solid food. Mac n Cheese is one of my absolute favorite foods and this place definitely did the dish justice whilst adding a touch of Alaska to it as well! Definitely check this truck out while you're visiting Sitka, it won't disappoint! read more

We tried the cod pieces with rice and the fish tacos. The tacos were super flavorful, the cod was delicious. Very good price for Sitka standards (our morning bacon and omelette sandwich was $16 at another place). Good place to eat lunch. read more

Very good food right off Lincoln next to the Thai truck. I brought a large group here so that people could eat from either truck. Limited places to actually eat but people move along quickly. I had rockfish tacos and salmon Mac n cheese and they were both excellent. read more

After reading the reviews we just had to make this a stop at our cruise port! There was a wait, but it was worth it. We ordered the rock fish and chips. It was cooked perfectly. The batter was not overdone and the fries had good flavor. Just fyi, there's no place to sit. read more

Fabulous black tip cod and yummy smoked salmon Mac and Cheese. Very friendly workers. Walked across the street and ate lunch on the harbor. Loved it! read more

Had the lingcod sandwich when we were downtown t-shirt shopping. It was excellent and nice folks taking our order.

I don't know if this is the best I have ever tasted but certainly a change to some of the limited menus the restaurant offer on the island. I got the two fish taco plate with the Jasmine Cilantro and lime rice. It was good, could have used more fish for the price. It took us 30 min to get the food from the food truck which to me is a bit too long. read more

Ashmo's is a food truck in Sitka that does pretty brisk business. We were hungry for lunch and Ashmo's was highly recommended. We are from Honolulu and love fish tacos and Ashmo's did not disappoint. There was a generous portion of fishing the taco with a slaw and white sauce that was delicious. I only regret not getting three. We also tried the black cod tips with coconut rice. The cod was delicious but to be honest we were disappointed in the portion size. We took our meals back to the lodge and was surprised on how little fish was in our meals. If you are hungry this will not fill you up. If I return to Sitka I would return for the tacos. read more

We were recommended this food truck from a lot of different people and now I would recommend this place to others as well. The wait was a bit long because they were making the fish and chips from scratch but the wait was worth it. Everyone in my family got something different and the food was really good. The food was hot and fresh and I would definitely go back. read more

Avoid tourist traps. This place is legit. I had the cod with coconut rice. My friends went to a sit down restaurant, waited an hour for a table then overpaid for mediocre seafood. read more

Service was excellent by a very friendly staff. Fish and chips were piping hot, crunchy and delicious! Just the right amount of batter on the very fresh fish. Lingcod sandwich was awesome as well. Black cod tips were darn tasty although the rice was a bit of a let down. The smoked salmon Mac-n-cheese was very good also. We ate here several times during our stay in Sitka and will definitely go back next time we're in town. read more

In fairness to Ashmo's, we have been spoiled by Deckhand Dave's food truck in Juneau. Ashmo's is still pretty good in comparison. Unique to them is the crab mac 'n cheese which was awesome. Good place for a quick bite. read more

I overheard a local recommending this Alaskan seafood truck operated by the Westmark hotel restaurant to another visitor, then moseyed over to the truck. There's a chalkboard with the daily specials. They were out of a lingcod dish, but had a halibut fish and chips dish, fish tacos, and black cod tips in a light homemade teriyaki sauce, over coconut rice. I opted for the black cod tips for $8, which were tender and delicious, perfect with a few dots of sriracha. The coconut rice was fragrant and perfectly done. It was quite the treat, though had I not be having a late lunch, I would have needed a small dish to supplement. A few others who were eating at the truck kept commenting on how delicious the fries were. read more

Convenient location in town. Excellent food and friendly staff. Don't leave Sitka without ordering from this great find.

I was so impressed with our order - rockfish tacos and black cod tips with a side of coconut cilantro jasmine rice. All of the food was flavorful and absolutely delicious. The rice was a little crispy which was a nice texture add. The fish is surely local and beyond my expectations! The service was pretty fast and the scenery to stand and eat near the truck is incredible. Five stars! read more

Great little food truck off of Lincoln next to the movie theatre. Portion sizes are lunch appropriate. They are open, wearing masks, and frequently sanitizing their hands. No seating on site but it was a quick walk back to our hotel. Delicious lunch today! read more

I ordered the small portion fish and chips (can choose between 2 or 3 pieces) and the fish were fresh but I thought the beer batter was okay - it was a thick layer and a little soggy on the inside. The fries were cooked perfectly. They have tables on the side for you to stand and eat and trashcans behind the truck. read more

An unexpected food truck in Sitka Alaska makes you what to try the food. We were hungry and exploring the town and decided to stop here . Ashmo's - Lingcod sandwich to for. You might have to wait a bit but it's worth it. - Food Trucks Near Me - Sitka, Alaska

Fish tacos had great flavor! Mac n cheese was good, the portions of fish and chips were huge and cooked perfectly

My goal while I was in town was to find this food truck based on the stellar reviews. I was so happy to find it and see if it was as great as it sounded. We had already eaten once, so I just tried one taco and the black cod tips. Both were good, but we'd also just eaten some of the best fish tacos ever in another cruise port, so I feel like these didn't wow me. The cod tips were really good in my opinion, but just ok to my boyfriend. I'd go back and try some of the other dishes when I wasn't already full from my first meal of the day. read more

Delicious crispy fish and chips. Worth the wait. Waited about 18 minutes at lunch time. The fresh fish was soft and moist with the perfect amount of batter. They said their fish is never more than 7 days from catch, and then cleaned and frozen immediately. Not rubbery like most. A local recommended it and it did not disappoint. read more

Man- this had to be my favorite snack in Sitka. We visited the food truck during the Saturday morning farmers market and ordered the black cod tips over coconut rice and it was to die for. Also got the salmon mac and cheese. Amazing. read more

Listen. I'm not one for hyperbole. I'm a 29-year-old woman who's happily married with a healthy daughter. But let me tell you - if I could do it all over again, I would plan EVERY major milestone of my life around Ashmo's. The food is DIVINE and the owner is a goddess on earth. The black cod tips are life-changing and the mac n' cheese is transformative. My husband and I wandered by Ashmo's on a recent visit to Sitka, and we wish we could transport the entire experience to our home state of Minnesota. You're making a Alaska-sized mistake if you don't make Ashmo's part of your Sitka experience!!! read more

This place has some really delicious food. Unfortunately I wasnt able to give them 5 stars because the portion size I got was super small. At $9 I expected a little bigger. I ordered the blackened fish on coconut lime rice and had I ordered it for my 5 year old, he wouldn't have gotten full. Having said that- I saw the portions of fish n chips, tacos and Mac n cheese and they looked to be pretty good! read more

We've gone here for lunch everyday we've been in town. It's bomb. Anyone who gives less than 5 stars is being particular and impatient. The woman who work here are hustling and working hard--be patient!!! It is worth the wait. The tacos, mac n cheese, and tips are delicious. The price is fitting, ideal location, and kind staff. I wish them the best. read more

Really great fish sandwich. That was all I ate there, but the line was super long so I can assume that the rest of the menu is just a good.

Sitka was a stop on a cruise we were on from July 21 thru the 27th. After completing an art tour we asked the girl at the glass blowing studio where we could get the best fish n' chips; without hesitation, she said "Ashmo's, the food truck right next door." Although it was a bit cold and rainy, we took her advice and walked the 15 or so feet over to the truck. It is almost a given that when in Alaska, you will get fresh seafood. Well, it is definitely true of Ashmo's, or at least it can be said of the F n' C's. I'm giving this 5 stars because of the food; otherwise, they'd get only 4. For some reason, and this is not just this venue, but throughout AK, the majority of the locals seemed as though we visitors were nothing more than an annoyance. It's a beautiful place, smile every now and then and it will be even more beautiful. Nevertheless, stop by Ashmo's if you're ever in Sitka, you will not be disappointed. And if you thank them with a smile, they might smile back. read more

We were not really impressed. The prices were decent by Sitka standards but the food was nothing to get excited about. I had fish and chips several times over a week and several different places and this was my least favorite.
