Clam chowder and Alaskan Cod fish & chips
    Melissa H.

We were docked with the cruise ship and weren't able to grab food while exploring Sitka due to the time crunch, but man were we glad to have been able to eat here! Service was great, our waiter was so sweet and I know they were busy and our food still came out faster than expected! Loved the outdoor seating vibe and not to mention ton out food was delicious! Some of the best chowder I had on the trip. Thank you , we look forward to returning.

This is a crab-themed seafood restaurant situated right as you walk off the cruise ship. It seemed very new and clean. The server was attentive. I tried the Alaskan Brewing Company pilsner and it was awesomely crisp and refreshing. The clam chowder was good but really soared with the addition of Cholula hot sauce. Hubby got the crab roll which he said was good but not $30 good. We shared a basket of fries which were seasoned nicely. I would return for the beer and chowder alone, everything else was wildly expensive.

Right off the Cruise Pier - look to the right.

King Crab and dungeoness crab at reasonable price. Everything we tried (party of 7 from age 5 to 73) was great

Very convenient to the cruise ship dock

Due to weather we had cancelled our cruise ship shore excursion yet we wanted to at least get off the ship. HPCC is conveniently located right next to the ship's pier. We were quickly seated in a large spacious high ceilinged dining room with exposed wood beams and were warmly welcomed by our server, ADRIAN. He was very friendly (he even acknowledged my University of Miami cap!) and was very helpful describing the menu and offering crab meat extraction advice. He let me sample 2 beers before choosing a delicious locally brewed IPA. We had clam chowder in a bread bowl and 2 lbs of king crab at a market price of apx. $67.50/lb. The chowder was excellent and had just the right amount of spiceness and the crab was rich and fresh with plenty of drawn butter for dipping. With the crab came sourdough corn fritters with honey butter which were also excellent. An awesome 70's and 80's classic rock soundtrack at just the right volume was very enjoyable. The tab for food and drink before tip was $189 for two. Considering the delicious food, ambiance, quality of service and convenient ship pier location, I'd consider HPC&C a great value. I'd highly recommend dropping in if your cruise ship stops at the Port of Sitka!

    Clam chowder - it's a secret recipe!

Went in for the chowder and it ended up being the best clam chowder we've ever eaten! This is a "secret family recipe" and boy, it's great! Our server was very warm and friendly, and the views were spectacular! If you have the chance to visit when in port in Sitka, don't miss out!

Halibut Point Crab & Chowder was a great pit stop before getting back in the cruise ship. Service was super friendly and the food was pretty good. What's not to love about fresh king crab!!! Their sourdough corn fritters were delicious. The king crab here was fresh and good too. We had a nice table overlooking the pier which made it even nicer! They even had a neat souvenir shop with their logo on everything. Fun items to buy and take home.

    3lbs of king crab legs

Wow probably some of the best king crab legs I've ever had! Looked way more than 3lbs too. The crab wasn't salty which was nice and paired well with the butter. Every piece was just so delicious and pretty big too! My family was happy and satisfied with the king crab legs. Yeah it was pricy but it was well worth it. The corn fritters that came with it was pretty good but you need to eat it with the honey butter that it comes with. The staff was kind and welcoming. Whatever questions we had about the crab she was able to answer and she brought us out anything we needed and more. This place was right next to the cruise port which made it convenient if you don't go into the town. They also had live dungeness crab for people to see and they let us take pictures of us holding them too.

Delicious king crab and clam chowder. When in Alaska, indulge all the things you can't get easily at home. Situated right by the cruise port in Sitka, this place serves up delicious king crab legs. The flavor is so clean and sweet. The chowder is one of the best I've ever had... it's just the right thickness yet full of flavor.

The food was delicious!! I had the crab boil and my husband ate fish with fries. The location of the restaurant was beautiful! The views are amazing! I recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Sitka, Alaska.

Had lunch here while visiting Sitka, Alaska (via a cruise). Nice, open (inside and out) eating area; friendly service. My husband ordered the fish (halibut) and chips; I ordered a salmon sandwich, though I didn't really want the bun, lol! My husband enjoyed his meal, as did I. The fish (halibut and salmon) was so fresh tasting! Also, there is a gift shop connected to the restaurant for souvenirs; somewhat of a one-stop shop. :o)

I was doing some research before our Alaskan trip and the Halibut Point Crab & achiever and it appeared this restaurant was highly recommended. So because if this, it was a must to come here. When we were finally able to get to Halibut Point Crab & Chowder (because it was kind of a hike from where we docked), I was super excited. We ordered the Alaskan Crab Combo & the clam chowder. My husband had some beer. Let's just say the food did NOT disappoint. It was soo good and so fresh...I wish I had a bigger stomach because I would have ordered more! The staff were also very nice and very attentive. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in Sitka.

    King Crab

Total waste of money!!! I paid 100 bucks for king crab and it tasted like nothing! There was no seasoning. Very hard to eat. Do not waste your money. Go somewhere else!

Clam chowder- BEST EVER CLAM CHOWDER
    Kristin D.

Outstanding clam chowder; the BEST I've ever had! Truly, outstanding!! Their King crab legs are gigantic and really phenomenal! We also tried the Dungeness (spelling?) crabs. Our favorite was the King crab legs! We enjoyed the chowder so much that we returned the next day to enjoy more!

Need gluten free options. Fries appear to be gluten friendly. The chowder is a serious meal. One of the best I have had.

This a great stop for an excellent Crabby Mary and Crab Cocktail. Both were fantastic with plenty of crab.

The most incredible spot, we came here twice in a row and wanted to visit again for a third dinner,…read morebut they were closed for the day. Let me tell you something....... THE YUZU MISO COD!!! WOW! Easily one of the best things I've ever eaten. Cooked to actual perfection, the most delicate and soft flakes, infused with (not overly sweet) glaze. I'm like daydreaming just thinking about it. Every bite. I was floored. Even by the last few bites, I was still so impressed, it might as well have been the first. And that broccolini had phenomenal flavor/texture. Oh, and the savory butter board focaccia has ruined all other bread/butter for me. I fear I'll never be the same. On par with the food, Beak is community-driven, centering people, values, and quality, locally sourced ingredients. It was awesome to see where the main dishes were sourced from, right there on the menu (all Alaskan groups or local Sitka cooperatives!). My gosh, it makes a difference, and each bite is even more special. If you have a moment, I'd really encourage checking out their website and reading through the 'About' section. You'll fall even more head-over-heels in love with this place. Beak is the model for the future we need. Each staff member we interacted with was 10/10 stellar. They were beaming when talking about the owner/chef and how much they loved working there. Beak is gratuity-free (non-tipping), and any place that pays its staff a living wage gets extra points in my book! Any tips go to staff-selected charities/causes in the area. I'll argue with anyone: the pricing is awesome. Like.. actually take a second and think about it: - LOCAL ingredients.. that means great quality, AND you're supporting local communities (and they're *locally-run* ones too, I really can't emphasize this enough... **especially** if you're coming here as a tourist, you better be actively trying to find ways to support the community) - Gratuity-free/included in pricing!! - And, oh yeah, it's like the best bite of food I've had in my life. We don't even need to compare on relativity because Beak speaks for itself, but if you really want to go there -- live in any other coastal city, and you'll realize that it's a steal. Like it's actually bonkers. No one's doing this. I doubt anyone reads this far on a Yelp review, but even if I'm shouting into the void, it'll be in praise for Beak. Someone call the tire man, Chef Renee deserves her star!

So dang good, we came back again for lunch before heading to the airport. On the first go around,…read morewe had both White and Red King salmon, and both were exceptional. It was our first time for white king salmon for both of us. We split a massaged kale salad, and I have to say I am not the biggest fan of kale, but this "tasted like Christmas". Very enjoyable. As if that were not enough, and it normally would have been, it was also strongly suggested that we get a cup of the creamy house salmon chowder. That one was perfection. I would probably eat her once, if not twice, a week if I lived in Sitka. On the second time around, we brought a friend who also fell in love with the food and vibe. I tried the duck fat & huckleberry dessert. I love duck fat in general, so I expected it to be very good, and it was even better than that. I believe it was a version of Akutaq. They also served the version with vegetable fat. I deeply enjoyed mine. I will definitely come back here should I make it back to Sitka again.
