WHY I WENT HERE: - car in need of an oil change - received a coupon in the mail for a discount on the oil change (less than $70 vs. original price of $90-$100+) - open Saturdays (I work/travel M-F so this worked great for me); able to make an appointment online first thing Saturday morning THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located on Northgate Blvd (south of the Valero gas station); closest main cross street is San Juan Rd - street sign with company logo viewed from Northgate - decent sized private parking lot THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - the lobby/waiting area is very spacious; some living room style/placed furniture in the center and other chairs on the outer perimeter for customers to wait in but still maintain privacy/space from one another - drink fridge, water/coffee station on the north wall of the waiting area - restroom off the northwest wall of the waiting area (just past the check-in/check-out computer station) CUSTOMER SERVICE: - I appreciate that this place has a website that allows for online appointments; inputting your information and having a set time to come in (with no miscommunication on who you are or your contact information) is great - I received a confirmation email and text about my appointment (I opted to stay at the shop with my vehicle since it was initially for an oil change) - when I arrived, check-in was a breeze; I was greeted warmly and provided the coupon; I was provided a quote of my service with the coupon applied - I prepared to sit comfortably in the lobby catching up on my shows - when I was informed that it would take longer, I appreciated that the other recommended services came along with pictures of the issues as well as quotes for each additional service; I did not feel rushed with the explanation of what else was found wrong with my vehicle and I appreciated the various opt-in/opt-out sections that I needed to check off for confirmation or decline prior to signing off - I live close enough that once I signed off on my additional services to be completed, I called my fiance to pick me up; the guy at the front desk had inquired if I needed a ride so I'm not sure if they set you up with a rideshare or taxi service - the estimated time of the completion of my additional services was accurate and I felt the overall total was comparable to what I would have received at other shops - even when I arrived back at the shop to pay for the services and pick up my car, I was greeted warmly

My second time here getting an oil change and I have to say I am impressed! Very kind, helpful, and down to earth staff. The waiting room is clean with plenty of refreshments available. The service was fast and their prices are reasonable. Overall I highly recommend this place!

Give them a call for great customer service at an affordable price.

My car was towed there on a Saturday at 2:30pm. They all went above and beyond to get me back on the road to get home by 5:00pm.

My transmission had started slipping in 4th and 5th gear, which made it extremely difficult to drive in automatic, so in the intern I drove my car in the manual option. It worked for a while but at times I would slip gears on the freeway and it became unresponsive when trying to shift gears to catch again. Long story short, I came here based on family recommendation, dealer wanted 10k to put a new transmission in. AAMCO wanted to charge 6k. I was quoted 2.8k for the transmission work to be done. My vacuum pump had been leaking for years so I asked about that. Dealer wanted to charge 2k and Jose charged me only 500. Not bad at all! I took a gamble and let his team do the work... I usually do my own work but obviously I can't do a transmission... unless I have the right equipment. Now my car runs phenomenal! I didn't realize how worn out my transmission was. Granted this "new" transmission is used, it was certified and warrantied so it was rebuilt. Sounds new to me! Car runs amazing and my brakes are more responsive after the vacuum pump change. He is very reasonable and very humble. He has a great team of mechanics who do an excellent job at what they have a talent in. They are ASE certified too if anyone wants to know. I appreciate the work done and will be back if I have any major work I can't do myself. I couldn't be more pleased. He is very reasonable

I arrived at 8:50 AM, was checked in by 9:00 AM, and was told the service would take about 1-1 1/2 hours. At 11:15 AM, my car STILL hadn't even been taken back. When I asked what was going on, I was told they had written down the wrong car and somehow my vehicle had been overlooked for over two hours. ‍ Once they finally looked at it, they told me I had two nails, my wheel couldn't be repaired, AND because my car is AWD, I supposedly needed all four new tires--for a grand total of $1,800. They also claimed they didn't have any cheaper tire options for my vehicle. I said NOPE. Put my wheels back on because I was going somewhere else. They even tried to convince me to let them do the work because they already had the tires off. I still declined. Then, to make matters worse, they put everything back together and didn't even repair the nail that could have been repaired. I took my car straight to America's Tire for a second opinion. Guess what? I only needed ONE tire for around $150. I ended up replacing both rear tires because the tread was getting low anyway, and my total was around $400. $400 vs. the $1,800 I was told I needed to spend. The difference is ridiculous. Between losing my car for hours because they wrote down the wrong vehicle, the poor communication, the attitude, and being told I needed four tires when another tire shop said I only needed one, this experience completely turned me off from Les Schwab. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before spending your money here. I will NEVER take my car back to Les Schwab.

Prices were much more reasonable in comparison to dealership. I was informed of the costs prior to any work being done. This is my second time trusting stress free auto with my car. They did a wonderful job on my break repair service last year. I was kept updated and informed of their work progress. I would encourage them to continue with the updated communication to customers as it does help ease your mind. I would recommend this business.

The waiting area is clean, there are snacks, coffee, places to charge. The people are friendly. They do a multi-point digital inspection where they send you a photo of everything they checked, whether it needs service or not. That's genuinely cool, and it's included when you have service done. But you, the customer, are absolutely overpaying for that service, and I believe that's where the cost of all that technology lives. For my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, I was quoted $763.49 for front brakes and rotors, $707.48 for rear, and $150.39 for cabin and engine air filters. They also recommended a brake fluid flush at $244.95. With tax, over $2,000. I looked up what these should cost. Brakes and rotors on my car at an independent shop run $600-1,100. The flush should be $90-150 - even a dealership would charge around $180-220, still less than their quote. I called five other shops, all within a mile or two. Every single one was under $1,000 for brakes and rotors. The shop I chose did brakes, rotors, and filters for $592.73 - less than half of what Stress-Free quoted for brakes and rotors alone, before tax. This wasn't an isolated incident. My synthetic oil change was quoted at $127 - meanwhile, the fair price for my car is $75-90. They only came down when I called and mentioned a competitor's pricing. You shouldn't have to negotiate a fair price on something as basic as an oil change. The last time I was here, they put a branded license plate frame on my car and told me it'd get me $20 off my next visit. That $20 was never applied. It's a promise they didn't keep, on a car they branded for free. And as long as that frame is on my car, I'm driving around advertising a shop that overcharged me on every service & basically telling everyone I'm a sucker who happily overpays for things. I removed it the second I got home. Their transparency did help me, just not in the way they intended. Seeing every item priced out made it easy to compare. Once I did, the gap was impossible to ignore. The technology is nice. The people are nice. The inspection with photos is cool, and it's free. But you're paying for it, and what you're paying is two to three times what honest shops - or even dealerships - charge for the same work.

They responded very quickly, priced fairly, and even provided time slots they had open, so I headed to the shop that same Saturday. When I arrived, they quickly directed me to pull in to start the service. It seems like I had just sat down when they called me back out to show me the the underside of the van. They wanted to know where I'd done the prior oil changes since whoever did them had stripped the tread on the pan from tightening the bolt too tight. I could clearly see that what they were saying was true and the pan had no tread and had been leaking oil this whole time. There really would be no way to do the oil change without also changing the pan. I asked how much that replacement would cost, and told them to go ahead complete the repair along with the oil change. This is my mom's mini van that I was going to drive back down to LA, so definitely wanted to ensure I was safe. I was told it would take 2-3 hours, but was quickly out in about 1.5. They even provided a discount when I paid since the repair was unexpected and fast, which I really appreciate. They pointed out some other concerns, but did not force any repairs on me, which I am grateful for. Will definitely be coming back for any future oil changes and repairs.
