So I started by having SDG&E look at my furnace. They told me I needed to contact a heating and air company to fix the sensor. Let's just say after 3 companies came by, they were the only one who told me the truth about what needed to be replaced. So guess what a year later? When I was ready to add a central air and a mini split system for my upper level I called them. They gave me my options and made recommendations based on being close to the ocean. Used SDAC to install central air conditioning in my home back in 2018 and I was extremely satisfied with their service and the AC unit they installed. They didn't upsell me with a bunch of unecessary things like some of the large companies Home Depot or Costco sends out (I won't drop names), but over all the AC system worked great the pay 4 years and now that I bought a new home I will be using them again to install AC in my new house. Trustworthy company! Initially we got a quote from the company called "The Right Choice HVAC" which I SO want to give them a bad review but I don't want to hurt anyone's business. The guy name Reuven came to me said my motor is blew and it's because of the filter is dirty.. he kept blame us how he has never seen such dirty filter, he checked out the unit and told me the unit needs a brand new motor and no one has it around. He then told me "no need to doubt that the motor is blew because of the dirty filter" and he needs call and find one from the special vendor he uses. He suggested to change to a brand new unit which quoted me over $8000 then told me he found a motor after 1 hours walking around my neighborhood claiming he has been calling people, and told me to spend 700 for the motor. I was desperate and scheduled the appointment. I ended up spending the $69 diagnostic fee without getting anything fixed. After "The Right Choice HVAC" I was very upset, so I decided to call around to find a second opinion. Daniel who is the owner from SDAC told me that he charges a fee which goes towards fixing if he ends up fixing, I explained what's wrong with the unit and told me the fixing is probably about $120. He came out the next day before "The Right Choice HVAC" appointment and have it fixed for exactly 120. What an honest business! I thought wow there are really bad people who can screw you! SDAC was one of four quotes I got for the installation of my HVAC system. Their quote wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive, but they were the most creative in solutioning what really felt like the best suited solution for my home and needs. Other companies responded specifically to what I asked for, but I'm not the expert and wanted to solicit their advice. We ended up deciding my home was small enough to forgo the large typical HVAC compressor and instead install a 2 ton ducted mini split system with new attic ducting and cutouts in all rooms -- I didn't even know this was an option! It met my space requirements, energy star savings needs, and makes the space very comfortable on hot and cold days.
