I reached out to Dan about a year ago for a quote on a HVAC system, and just like a professional he sent me a quote in a timely manner and it was the best one that I have received. SDAC did a wonderful job. He even went as far to change the caps to the manifold gage connections. He put an reusable air filter into the air exchanger. He checked the Freon level, cleaned both the condenser and evaporator coils. He even wound up the water hose after he used it. The water flow sensor was stuck so Dave replaced it replaced it. He checked the operational temperature and found it well within specification. His office staff communicated with me several times. He was on time even early and wore a mask at all times. I recently wanted to replace my central AC and heater system and contacted 8 prominent vendors in the San Diego Area for a quote. In the middle of this hot summer my old faithful AC of 30 years finally retired. I spent two very long hot weeks getting 7 estimates for a brand new AC and furnace. The range in prices for some of the very same or lesser equipment was ridiculous but I learned a lot. I learned about what I needed in a new AC and furnace for my home and I saw which companies will try to upsell, give false advice, use scare tactics and try to charge double the prices. Then I found SDAC Air Conditioning and met with the estimator Art who was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, experienced, patient and thorough. He reviewed my old system, AC and furnace, took the time to look into my attic in the middle of a hot summer afternoon and then gave me options for only what I needed at this time. He patiently answered all the questions I had and quoted me for two well known reliable AC brands with one being less expensive. The quotes were extremely fair and quite reasonable and the scope of work along with the equipment was the same as what other companies offered so I was getting much more value for my money. This is the second time I have called SDAC. I was so impressed with their service the first time they came out, that I immediately thought of them when I had a problem with my thermostat. Even though they were no longer associated with Angie's List, I had great trust in them. Once again they outdid themselves! I was prepared to purchase a new thermostat and have it installed but the technician right away noticed I had not closed the door to the heater completely and that was why the thermostat was not working. A couple weeks later when I needed to use my AC again I still had a minor issue with the cooling not working all the time. I have a very old a/c unit and have had issues since I purchased my home last year. The air is cold but it does not drop the temperature of the house too much. SDAC responded immediately after I requested quotes through yelp. The price quote was great for the inspection ($79). What I did not expect to get was the outstanding service provided by Erick Montes. WOW! I really wish more people provided the exceptional service he provided today. Erick arrived early, inspected the a/c and jumped right into cleaning the unit. He took the unit apart and cleaned everything you could see as well as changed the filter/re-wrapped some insulation, etc. He spent 2 full hours cleaning the a/c unit and making sure everything was in working order. I have never experienced such great customer service and I appreciate him and the time he took to ensure I was a happy.. and return customer. Dan arrived within the stated time frame. Inspected my AC and replaced what he thought was the problem and after inspecting all components discovered additional items when needed to be fixed. After his total assessment, he gave me the diagnosis and advised me he would check on the price for the parts and let me know the estimate and would be back the next day to with the part to finish the repair. The total cost was less than what I paid another AC contractor for doing less work and he arrived on time again and quickly completed the repair. His prices are very reasonable. TOTALLY UNRELIABLE AND UNRESPONSIVE. A neighbor recommended this company and it took multiple calls for me to get a call back. When they finally called back they were able to come by while working on a neighbor's unit (I wasn't able to be here so I had a family member come let them in), but then it again took multiple phone calls and messages for me to get someone on the phone to tell me what happened, what was done, and if I owed any money. Only that evening I realized that whatever they did made it MUCH worse as water is now pouring from my AC unit. I made another appointment (which again took at least 4 phon calls) only to have them call me 3 minutes before the end of the window when they were to come out and tell me they couldn't make it, and it would be over a week before someone could come out. Don't waste your time and energy- ANYONE else would be better. Their customer service is AWFUL and communication skills are atrocious. I wouldn't be nearly so angry if it hasn't taken so many phone calls to get a response or if they'd called earlier to let me know how late they'd be as then I may have been able to accommodate schedule changes. read more

SDG&E had checked my furnace after having the house fumigated and they noticed the cover on the blower was cracked. They tagged it, and told me not to use it because carbon monoxide could leak. So I got on Yelp and requested quotes from SDAC along with 2 other companies. One of them gave me an outrageous quote, the 2nd company gave me a better quote, but was still a little high for the repair that was needed. SDAC came out, looked at the furnace and advised me they would quote the price upon finding the part. We finally decided to have AC installed in our house and started researching and scheduling HVAC companies to come to our house to bid the job. Our AC was blowing hot air in the thick of summer.
