SD Coatings bid to paint our house exterior was competitive (of 3 contractors). Scott came out and walked through the site and scope of work. Estimated 4-5 days. Issac D and crew came day 1 with about 6 guys. Had pressure wash, mask, first coat of main house color done on first day. Finished whole job in 3 days. Mind you, this is with stucco repair as well All of the work was fantastic. This is a well oiled machine. Everyone knew what they were doing and went to work. Played music, had fun, but WORKED! Very pleased, would recommend SD Coatings read more

It's been a few weeks since I had SD Coatings out to paint the exterior of my home, but I have say they did an amazing job. During the quote process they walked me through all the details, the paint options, their recommendations, etc. so I knew I was in good hands. They started and ended right on schedule and the transaction was very smooth and professional. My house looks great and I can't really find any flaws in their work at all. No messes left behind, all the lines cut in properly....I couldn't be happier! If you're looking for a great value for an exterior paint job, I highly recommend them! read more

I had Scott and his team painted the entire exterior of our home. It was a big job with a fair amount of prep and hard to cover existing paint colors. Team worked hard. Every day prep work was phenomenal and the finish product is fantastic. I would definitely recommend Scott and SD Coatings. read more

SD Coatings did a great job painting our house. We had a bunch of termite and weather damaged wood that needed to be replaced as part of the project. We got four quotes and Scott was the only one that took the time to truly assess what needed to be done and included the wood repair as part of the initial quote. One company gave us a quote with the repair being an extra cost that would be added later while the other two said that all of the damaged wood would just be patched with Bondo, which given the extent of the damage did not seem prudent. The crew was punctual, polite, and professional and we love the results. They even removed an old eyesore satellite dish that had been on the house since we moved in. read more

We absolutely love how our house looks! Scott was so helpful and communicative throughout the entire process - he helped us narrow in on our color scheme and kept us updated on our timeline. Everyone we spoke to was very kind and helpful, and the work was done in an efficient and extremely professional manner. I will 100% use them again in the future for any paint needs and will happily recommend them to anyone. 5 stars all the way -- great price and a beautiful finished product. I had 5 estimates, supposed to be 6 but that is for some other business review, to have 90% of my entire interior painted. I had asked yelp to give me an estimate from the un-named business and in the process yelp asked if I wanted to get other estimates, so I said sure. Scott was the first to respond. It was a Friday evening and we set up time on Monday. Right from the beginning, Scott was on top of it, he asked all the right questions even about things that we hadn't thought about. Said he would provide the estimate in a few days along with copies of their license and insurance. The estimate wasn't the cheapest and it wasn't the most expensive. I was actually right in the middle. We made the decision to go with SD Coatings based on the fact that they would help with moving some furniture (nothing breakable or small and to the center of the room), Scott mentioned they would also patch up any holes, leave the nails for pictures to be rehung, and remove any old fixtures if we needed. Scott and his team showed up the following Monday and we walked the entire house, putting up painters tape to mark accent walls, nails and fixtures that need to be removed and also where holes need to be patched. The first day was great Issac was lead and his team of 3 got a lot of the first coat applied on the second floor, we were thinking that they actually could be done by Thursday at this pace. However the second day would be my only negative about the experience. I have to say that not every job goes as perfect as you think it might. Anyway, on the second day we had a different crew, and they were not as efficient as the day one crew. It took teh whole day to add one coat in the master bath and the other guy finished up the second coat on the half of the second floor. Day three came and we knew to expect a different crew of 2, but to be honest they were they probably the best yet, They were very thorough and were able to complete the rest of what the Day 2 team worked an and then began on the first floor. We had the same team of 2 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. they were really good at their jobs. Overall it took about 6 days to paint about 2800 sqft. All teams cleaned up after they were done for the day and the overall experience was great. I would highly recommend Scott and his team at SD Coatings for your paint ing needs. We will be contacting them soon to paint the exterior. read more

We are very happy with our exterior paint job that SD Coatings did. Scott & his team were great to work with and did an excellent job. They were here on time everyday and collectively made our house look at least 15 years younger. They did an awesome job repairing stucco and cleaning up the old paint that was flaking off everywhere after the power wash. We are happy customers. I would highly recommend SD Coatings if your house needs a facelift read more

We called Scott at SD Coatings to paint our bedroom and bathrooms as we had such a great experience with them the first time when they painted our kitchen cabinets. Once again, Scott was extremely quick in getting an appointment set up and painting commenced immediately. Arturo and Wyatt were polite, professional and extremely courteous the entire time they were here. I felt very comfortable with the quote knowing the exceptional work they do. Thanks so much! read more

10/10 experience with SD Coatings. They were responsive, professional and prompt. I got multiple bids for exterior painting and they actually were a tiny bit more but I felt like they would do an incredible job and I was right! They also finished 2 days early. My review is for work completed in August 2023. I purchased a home and requested quotes for interior, exterior and kitchen cabinets. This was a large job so I spoke/met with multiple companies, looked at websites and read reviews before choosing SD Coatings. Overall I'm disappointed. Interior paint: Crew worked quick and seemed pretty efficient. We booked them for all interior walls: 8 rooms and hallway. There were items left undone and or unclean at the end and my husband let the supervisor know. The issues were fixed when we checked again. I'm glad the supervisor was receptive to issues and promptly responded however, if we didn't have the eye for stuff like that then corners and edges to baseboard wouldn't have been painted. I'm most upset by the quality of kitchen cabinet painting. My cabinets were previously painted gray and looked like a diy job. I understood the cabinets would get taken apart, sanded down, spray painted blue. I was quoted thousands of dollars for this job. The ONLY reasons I didn't do it myself is because I believed I was paying for quality work and supporting local business. The cabinets have paint runs and brush strokes, I am still cleaning tons of overspray which makes me question disassembly and removal to spray paint. I'm not happy and wish I would've done the project myself. DIY is easier for me to accept issues. Outside: paint looks great! The colors look well together. The time to complete was perfect. There was some trash in the yard but I notified the supervisor and he had it handled immediately. read more

We took multiple bids for a kitchen repaint. Scott was very professional and responsive. The team that came out was also very respectful of the space as I worked from home at the same time. I have a 40+ yrs old home and older cabinets. The refresh worked out great for us. The pricing was very competitive and many bids were for a thousand or more above what we paid. read more

Long story with a Tesla solar roof and all the drama with installation and repairs. This chapter concerns a local painting company. One thing Tesla doesn't tell you is it will make it harder to paint your house after getting a solar roof. Because of numerous roof leaks, they decided to strip the panels and start from scratch. Now my trim around the house was due for a new coat of paint. I was informed that I would have two days from the removal of the panels to find a painter for the trim. Thanks to Yelp, I found SD Coating here in Escondido. I called up Scott who is the business manager who was around the corner on another job. He came over half an hour later. He listened to what I wanted and the tight deadline to accomplish the job. He offered a couple of suggestions and gave me a fair price. The next day Carlos arrived and not only did a fantastic job, but also worked around all the Tesla guys. These guys are professional and respectful. What else do you need for a project? read more

Scott at SD Coatings was incredible to work with. He responded quickly to come out and give us a quote and was able to have his crew come out the following week. He was able to get us the Benjamin Moore paint we requested and even suggested a nice solid black paint for finishes. He was so easy to communicate with and he did a great job communicating our desires to his crew. They painted our entire townhome in 3 days and did a great job. We were thrilled with the results and will absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for paint work done. 5 stars- Great communication, great work and very fair pricing. The first quote for my exterior house paint project was from SD Coatings. I was impressed with the professionalism, thoroughness and solutions given during my first meeting with Scott but I knew I should get two more quotes. I remember Scott being personable and was patient with my questions. Even after those other two quotes I knew I still wanted to work with SD Coatings but wasn't sure what to expect because I don't usually get my house painted. Scott had called to let me know he could start early and estimated it would take about a week. The SD Coatings workers came by and I was impressed throughout the whole process. What a great team! They not only did an excellent job painting but also fixed exterior and interior door mouldings. I had a dog door in my house wall to the outside that I wanted removed and the exterior wall was re-stucco'ed, insulated and the interior wall was redone so that it looks like there was never a dog door there. The SD Coatings team was polite, professional, thorough and fast. It took less than a week for them to finish. I can't imagine a better experience getting my house painted. I plan on working with them again for my interior house painting project. read more

Great experience start to finish. The painting was great and they left my place so clean! Thank you.

Scott and team did a great job. Professional, trust worthy, communicative. Thank you for taking such good care of our house

Scott and his team are great. I had multiple bids for the painting the exterior of our home. We went with Scott based off his attitude and knowledge. Glad we did. The exterior came out perfect. His team lead Carlos was was excellent. People stop in-front of the house and ask who painted it, well now we all know. When we wanted to paint inside, easy choice to go back with Scott and his team. We again had Carlos and all I can say is thank you. Our home looks unbelievable. read more

Quick and easy! Got some paint work done on the outside of my home after being referred by my dad who also used this company for painting. Great deal and good job done. We used SD Coatings to stain a new fence that we had installed. The fence was not stained by the fence company and I was looking for a painter who would take the time to work with me to discuss options and give me advice about the correct products to use. Most painters I contacted just told me to pick a stain and they would put it up. Scott came out several times to discuss the project with me and helped me choose the right product. I had bids higher and lower than SD Coatings but I chose them because they worked with me on consultation and I knew the project would be done correctly. On the day of the work, JC came out and was there literally from sunup to sundown, painstakingly staining the fence and taking great care not to damage any of our landscaping or adjacent structures. We love the final product. We will definitely use SD Coatings again. read more

Simply fantastic! I was referred to Scott and SD Coatings after I had received two disappointing (aka ridiculously overpriced) bids for exterior painting - the third time was the charm! My HOA recently switched up the approved color palette for my neighborhood, and my house was one of the last with the old/outdated color. Scott and the whole team at SD Coatings were professional and courteous and got the job done quickly. They did such a great job on the exterior that I extended the work to interior painting, too - and will have them back for more work in the future. From quote to prep, paint to finish, SD Coatings is the best. read more

We had a lot of very dated wallpaper removed and painted almost the entire the interior of the home with SD Coatings painters on our recent home purchased, and it was a great experience. I found them on Yelp, and made an appointment with Scott to give me an estimate. Scott was punctual on the day of walk through, and as promised, he emailed me an estimate by the end of that day. I also got 2 other bids, and even though SD Coatings was not the least expensive, I decided to go with them based on my gut instinct. Communication with Scott was perfect, he replied to emails, text and calls with expediency. Scott and team worked with our tight schedule on the 1st phase of painting where we were short on time due to some of our logistics scheduling, so his team did the work quickly to meet our timeline on that phase of our home project. The crew did a fantastic job! They completed the job in a timely manner and I hired them again for the 2nd phase of our home project about a month later! Scott and the owner Luis were very accommodating about our indecision in a few areas with color changes which ultimately resulted with us being very happy with the finished job rather than just settling on the incorrect color tone choice we initially selected. We are very pleased with interior painting results, everything was done exactly as discussed and Scott and crew followed through with everything he told me he would in the beginning. A Very professional company that we highly recommend and will use again in the future. read more

SD Coating is fantastic! We just moved into a new home which had a kitchen with cherry colored cabinets. It just wasn't our style, so we hired SD Coatings to paint them white. All I have to say is WOW!! Luis and his team were extremely clean. They spent the first day meticulously taping and prepping the surfaces. They did not spill a spec of paint anywhere. AWESOME! They painted several layers and used high quality paint. The finished product is outstanding. Our cabinets look brand new from the factory. They got the job done quickly. The crew was friendly. The pricing was competitive. And the response time was fast. I contacted Luis on a Monday and he was able to start the job the following Monday. Excellent communication throughout the process. A great experience all around. I highly recommend SD Coatings to anyone looking for a high quality, professional paint job. THANK YOU! I love my new kitchen :). read more

We had SDCoatings refinish our wood front double entry doors and repaint several areas of paint trim around our house. They were the only contractor that came out to look at the job before making an estimate. They scheduled the job within days and for only two weeks out. They ended up moving the job up a week when they had a cancellation. They spent 4 days getting everything done to our satisfaction, checking and rechecking every detail. We ended up with a great job, done quickly, at a reasonable price. I've already referred two other people to SDCoatings and wouldn't hesitate calling them again for other paint jobs. read more

Like many people, I use yelp to find all kinds of contractors. This time, I need to pint exterior and started with estimation. Scott is very responsive from the first chat with me to end of entire paintings. During the estimation, Scott walked through my house and explained all the work they planned to do. He also helps me to decide which color I can use! As for the painting, the team did a very good job. All my three doors look like brand new. My fascia, eaves, and stucco are now well protected by the paint they put on. The owner asked his team to show how the work was done (I believed he didn't know I was around there). At the final check, Carlos did everything I pointed out, but actually not much needed to be improved !! I am very satisfied with them. I'll contact them after couple years to repaint all the wood and doors again. Luis, if my neighbor contact you, please "share some love to me" !! read more
