I've always heard great things about this shop, so when I finally made the decision to get certified, I knew exactly where to go. The knowledge of the staff and the passion they have for diving is apparent in everything they do. I have learned SO much and felt so confident in my ability to dive by the end of the class that getting in the ocean and applying my skills was no problem at all. They take the time to help you get fitted to the gear that you need for class and any other items you may need. John is the shop owner and he has always been so nice every time I've been in the shop. Brant was the primary person giving lectures and teaching the skills in our class, he is in the process of becoming an instructor and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. Don was observing Brant during our classes to help him get his instructor certification; Don took us on our checkout dive in the Keys as well and you can tell that he is so passionate about his career in diving and instructing. He kept everything fun and explained things in a way that was understandable and made sure that any questions we had were answered without making anyone feel silly for asking. STELLAR SERVICE! I…read moreonly had a day left on my trip to Florida, so I called the shop to ask if I could borrow some snorkel gear for a quick dip at Sebastian. I had a great conversation with Joe, who was at the shop fixing some gear. Joe asked great questions, and found that I am a licensed SCUBA diver. He told me about a world-class SCUBA area nearby where I could do a shore dive. Not only did he give me some great information, and stay at the shop to help me check out gear, but he offered to meet me near my hotel (about 30 minutes from the shop) for me to drop off the gear. The shop was to be closed the following day, and he wanted me to be able to go on the dive trip! The dive was incredible! I was able to explore a ship wreck, see a tiny octopus in a bottle, commune with eels and explore both a small reef area and the sea grass in search of sea horses. I can't believe I almost missed this treasure. The next day, Joe called me when he was in town, and actually came by my hotel and picked up the gear from me so we could make our flight on time. This is completely unheard of in the SCUBA world. A local business with kind folks and great service. I wish they were my local shop!
