STELLAR SERVICE! I…read moreonly had a day left on my trip to Florida, so I called the shop to ask if I could borrow some snorkel gear for a quick dip at Sebastian. I had a great conversation with Joe, who was at the shop fixing some gear. Joe asked great questions, and found that I am a licensed SCUBA diver. He told me about a world-class SCUBA area nearby where I could do a shore dive. Not only did he give me some great information, and stay at the shop to help me check out gear, but he offered to meet me near my hotel (about 30 minutes from the shop) for me to drop off the gear. The shop was to be closed the following day, and he wanted me to be able to go on the dive trip! The dive was incredible! I was able to explore a ship wreck, see a tiny octopus in a bottle, commune with eels and explore both a small reef area and the sea grass in search of sea horses. I can't believe I almost missed this treasure. The next day, Joe called me when he was in town, and actually came by my hotel and picked up the gear from me so we could make our flight on time. This is completely unheard of in the SCUBA world. A local business with kind folks and great service. I wish they were my local shop!

I knew they would need some guidance since we do not live nearby. I also wanted them to have good equipment so we gave them the masks and snorkels as a Christmas gift. Kendra was extremely helpful to them and assured them if they had any problems with mask leakage, they could return them. They are very excited and appreciative of the time and patience Kendra took with them. Will you pay a bit more than online? Yes you will. But you won't get the superior customer service and that is worth a few bucks to me. Support small business I say! I'm sure you will have a longtime customer with those two. All around amazing!!…read more I don't have enough good things to say about Ultimate Dive. Ken and Laura are not only very nice people, but also very helpful and knowledgeable about diving. My husband and I were looking to go on a dive trip for our honeymoon. My heart was set on Indonesia as I didn't want to go some where "touristy" like the Caribbean, but at the time we were looking to go, there was a bomb scare in the area, which made us look for another destination. Ken suggested Matangi in Figi and I am so glad that he did. It was absolutely perfect. We were able to get the cultural non-touristy experience we were looking for as the Fijian people are so welcoming and offer a variety of activities where you can visit and spend time with them in their local villages. We also had amazing diving with a really great guide from the resort and wonderful relaxation and pampering that comes with being on your honeymoon. Ken was so easy to deal with when setting up the trip. He gave us lot of options for when we wanted to go and suggestions on the best ways to travel - he even booked us a day room when we had a long lay over between flights, which again ended up being a great suggestion. Here's what was…read moreimportant to me and why I think Kirk is the best: 1) I wanted to do scuba diving with my kids for their 13th birthday & Kirk gave me so much info and was so helpful with educating me on how we could do it & what our limitations would be. 2) We did not have to take multiple classes or have any certifications. All we had to do was download an app on our phones and answer some questions & watch some videos to educate us on the basics of scuba diving. Super simple & fun. 3) Kirk gave us an address to meet them at we showed up and he went through the details and what we were going to be doing & how the equipment worked. 4) Kirk has a presence about him that is calming and his charismatic ways of breaking down fears and anxiousness about scuba diving make it clear we chose the right place. 5) Kirk did not disappoint! We saw a shipwreck with coral, tons of fish and lobsters! We also saw 3 HUGE ORANGE STARFISH. We saw a puffer fish, really cool jellyfish & literally tons of different kinds of fish too. 6) This is an adventure that has blown our minds. We each were in awe of what we all saw & experienced. I truly think choosing Kirk's Dive & Surf was the best choice & we will be seeing more of Kirk. 7) Kirk's shop is in downtown Jensen right next to Mulligans (a great restaurant for the family). Couldn't of asked for a better first ocean dive! Call ahead to see when they are going diving because they don't dive everyday. Went out of Blue Herron bridge and the visibility was awesome. 80 to 100 ft. At least. Saw a bunch of fish, turtles, sting ray, and eel. About $100-$140 to rent a wet suit, tanks, weight, and anything you need. Great experience and I can't wait to go back and do it again! Thank you!

My daughter 14 wanted to get her scuba certification. I knew nothing about diving. The dive shop…read morewas very helpful explaining to me how the whole process works. I had some concerns because although my daughter is a strong swimmer she can be flighty. Mark her instructor was very personable. He has a calm demeanor about him and jolly at the same time. It is clear he loves to dive and teach. My daughter said he has a special way to explain things that make it extra fun. I think Mark was very patient and he let her wander around and take some time to look at everything in amazement, rather than constantly tapping her on the shoulder to get her back on task. This made her experience much more enjoyable and she is totally in love with the underwater world.
