Scruffy Duffies - 7 doubles or 14 singles, you tell me. Either way, $135 I should at least be feeling good. Don't come here and order liquor - Pubs Near Me - Plano, Texas

If you are a middle aged divorced person trying to go home with a warm body tonight, congrats, I have found the place for you, and that place is Scruffy Duffies. If, like me, you were just a regular ol' person trying to have a drink with your friends, eh, there are better options out there. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by the waitress who checked on us a couple times (although I really really wanted to feed her a burger and put a sweater on her, but oh well, I can't save the world). It was oddly packed it here. I asked my husband if there was anyone he would hit on if he were single (I have a weird sense of humor, what can I say) and he thoughtfully looked around before answering no. The same was true for myself. Drinks were cold and wet, so there's that. read more

Terrible. The atmosphere is fine, but the staff are all d-bags. The doorman was wearing a tight tshirt and weightlifting gloves (crossfit, bro!), but he took our table away because "last night was packed and he needed the space." Well of course last night was packed, it was New Year's Eve, idiot. Bartender scolded me because I ordered 4 drinks for our table, but only had two hands. I'll happily grab another person, but you don't have to yell at me, this isn't 2nd grade. I'll never return and I love Mucky, Ice House, Ringos, and other sister locations. You're welcome I dropped $80 at your bar, sorry I wanted a table. My bad. Won't happen again. read more

Probably my most favorite bar in this area. Super chill and great staff , cheap drinks and a live band during certain night.

Super underwhelmed with our experience there last night. We went to the Lights of Legacy event and made reservations for our big group for 7pm. We had one table for adults and one for our kids. When we sat down out in the patio, there were maybe 10 other people in the restaurant, so definitely not what we would call super busy, especially since a big event had just happened in this area. We were asked if we could go ahead and get our food order in first so we didn't overwhelm the kitchen staff. What??!! We hadn't even looked at the food yet and we're still looking over the drink menu. Also, one family was still parking so we were waiting on them to walk in. When we asked what time the kitchen closed, we were told 10 or 11. So we should be good on time, right? We informed our waitress that we would still rather get drinks first and have time to look over the menu and decide. They must not have a kids menu because we never saw one and all our kids had to order apps or main entrees, so we especially needed some extra time to decide on everything. At one point, one of our group members had to go up to the bar and grab more drinks because we hadn't seen our waitress in awhile and sat with empty drinks for a bit. The food was ok. It wasn't great. Several of the kids ordered the cheese fries and there were no chives on it (as advertised) and barely any bacon. For $10, it was a wimpy looking plate of cheese fries. I did enjoy the cheesesticks. We asked our waitress for ranch and were told we would need to wait because she was busy and needed to get more food out. Ok, but I have hot food in front of us and we're waiting on some condiments so we could start enjoying our meal too. We also had to go inside and find a condiment stand so we could have ketchup, salt, pepper, etc. we asked for water several times and got it at the end once we had paid out. The waitress was very nice. Maybe she didn't have enough support around her to help her handle the tables she had. Our bills were all right at the end, which is always nice when you have big groups. We won't be returning based on our experience was there last night. There are just too many restaurants/bars in the area to not have a great experience. read more

If you live by the Shops at Legacy and really don't feel like driving far then Scruffy Duffies is not a bad pick. It's the most crowded bar in the area and the music is danceable old hip hop. Don't expect much in terms of a crowd though. If uptown is a 8, then you're looking at a 3 at Scruffy's. Maybe that's why they call 'em scruffy, cause those dudes there be looking a bit scruffy. So come with attractive people because you won't be meeting any here. Ladies, use the restroom beforehand unless you want to be in line for 20 minutes waiting on 1 of 2 working stalls on a weekend night. read more

We waited for over an hour for burger and when we went to cancel our order the server told us that " we needed to be kind." It wasn't sorry for the inconvenience or let me check on the order. She made it all about how the customer wasn't meeting her expectations. Never will return. read more

Great little bar tucked away in the Shops at Legacy. DJ was on Fire. Staff very friendly and patrons very lively. Bartenders were great. read more

Being this place located in The Shops of Legacy, I was actually surprised that the prices of their drinks are not hiked up as the other bars in the area. I've been here a bunch of times and I can't believe I haven't written a review about how I always enjoy my time here. I've also tried their pizza and it isn't bad for not being a pizza place. Whenever in the area, this place is always my first choice to visit just because it is lively, and drinks are not overpriced. read more

This place reminds me of a college hangout joint. Super casual. Filled with tons of stunted douchebags but if you have the right friends it'll be a fun night. My only gripe is this place always filled with tons of dudes. Dudes = No es bueno! read more

If I could give a negative review I would, this place is terrible. We've come here several times in the passed year and never had problems but lately the bartenders try to over charge for drinks you never had. My grid got chartered for 7 vodka sodas when she only drank three. They refused to give us proof from the bar. They refused to call the cops and told us to get the f*** out. Will never come back to this place read more

I decided to give this place another try for the st Patty's block party. It seems like there's a better energy here now, and I had a great time. Maybe it's new management? Danny walked up and introduced himself to me and my friends and said he's running things now, asked us if there was anything he could do for us and legitimately seemed to care about the hospitality shown to the guests. I definitely will come back if the positive vibes keep up here. (Also great block party!) read more

Just like a normal bar, nothing special or different It's almost dead on week nights and it's overly crowded on weekends. read more

This is not your typical bar in the Shops of Legacy...nothing fancy about this place, feels divey (but nicer). Kind of refreshing really. We sat in the outside bar area and I thought the inside/outside seating was great. Like sitting in a garage with the door open. I was there for just a few drinks with coworkers and all was great. The service was good and we shared some wings that were pretty tasty. If you like wings and you like 'em hot, ask for them to make spicy up the hot. While they were good, they just weren't spicy enough for me! All and all, great place for a few drinks and some bar food. read more

I went here last night to watch the Mavs game and hangout with friends. The drinks are pretty good and not too expensive. I had a few vodka sodas and I can't complain...I'm not sure what vodka they used, but it was cool. Don't order the turkey burger...my friend ordered it and didn't like it. The calzone is ok...nothing different from a calzone you can order in the frozen section of a grocery store and warm up. Also, there is a potato dish that has beef on top (once I get the name of it I will update this review)...don't order it. Two of my friends chose this and neither were happy with the taste of it. They have lots of tv's and a projector that are great for game watching. There was also a country live band in there that sounded cool. I would visit this place again for drinks only, especially since it is bigger than Ringos Pub. read more

I was a bit apprehensive when I found out that the party headquarters for JMU's football fans during the championship was at a bar named Scruffy Duffies, but my group really enjoyed ourselves here. The bar gave off a Lone Star feel to our group of East Coasters. We all loved the decor. We experienced both the inside bar and the outside bar. I was thrown off by having them tell me it was a "private bar" and that we all had to become members- what? So we did, who knows what they really did with my license and what i truly signed for. It was a freezing weekend and the bar was semi prepared for the crowd and weather. The overhead heaters would have been good if it was 50 degrees out but it was 20, so maybe invest in a few more for the five times a year frost that Plano occasionally gets. The menu is small but does it's job- we loved the soft pretzel, fries and pizza. Beers were priced well but the shots we ordered were pricey. Bathrooms are rustic and average with decor and cleanliness. It was fun for our giant gathering of Dukes, and I'm up in the air on if i'd come back. If I do, I'm bringing jackets to the poor servers here who clearly hadn't experienced winter before. read more

Scruffy Duffies is a new arrival to Shops at Legacy. 1. Huge screens. 70" plasmas behind the main bar. Three of 'em. 2. An 80" plasma in the other main room of the bar 3. An even bigger projection screen in the main room, probably 8 feet in diameter. 4. Tall ceilings. 5. Three bartenders at the main bar. Never a wait. 6. Three private urinals for men-- a rarity 7. Right next door to Ringos Pub, an Irish Pub (this one is "American") 8. Meal menu still not figured out 9. No food after 10pm In sum, more super large (70" +) screens than any bar I've been to in Dallas. Great to watch the games on, obviously. Dead here on the nights I've gone, however. read more

Was here to meet friends. Several beer on tap options. Many local ones. Nice tvs to watch the game. We were there for Sunday night trivia during the cowboy football game. I'm not a big fan of pro football but the company was good. Pub was clean. Bathrooms stocked and nice. Appetizers including cheese sticks and nachos were average. The nachos were covered in this hot sauce that really took away from them. Would have preferred the hot sauce on the side.Had to flag down our waitress several times. The pub has easy access to covered free parking which is always nice. read more

I enjoyed the large selection of beers the smoked porter was delicious!!!!! The staff were friendly and efficient. Loved the semi outdoor patio section. This is a membership only place but you just have to sign in the first time you go. read more

I have been to this place a couple times, and its a pretty fun place. They have a good selection of drinks and I'd probably give the service an 8/10. They are usually really busy on the weekends and that can make it a little hard to get a drink, because everyone seems to hangout right in front of the bar. It has a really good vibe on the weekends, but its not really my type of scene. There are a lot of bros here and you can almost always find a 50 year old dressed in affliction acting like there 25 again. Very reasonable drink cost for there location in the Shops. The bartenders are on the move constantly, but once you make it to the bar they usually get you what you need pretty quickly. read more

Last week we had an employee summit and a large event at Scruffy Duffies. Everything was amazing!!! The food and drinks were served quickly and the overall service was outstanding!!!! Daniel, the manager, and the rest of the staff were awesome!!!! Many thanks!!!! read more

Overall, this is a solid place to come for a drink, and hang out with friends. The music isn't too loud, and the crowd is pretty tame, at least while we were there. There was a lack of seating, and I found the actual space to be quite small. The bartenders were all pretty friendly, and they made a good drink. Price is average. One thing that was irritating was they took the bar stools away at midnight. I have been to other bars that they do this...but they are actually quite busy, compared to this bar which wasn't. There was literally no reason for them to be pulled. Overall, it's fine, but definitely not my favorite. read more

I had not been here in forever but a man friend and I stopped in after 9 on a Thursday night. They had some live music playing and lots of folks mixing and mingling. We sat out on the patio and I ordered my typical house chardonnay. The service was a little hit or miss but I eventually got my lemon pepper wings that I ordered. They were cripsy, fresh and delicious. Some of the best wings I've had in a minute! I do love the food here. It's a very loud place so don't come here and expect a romantic quiet atmosphere. I could hardly hear myself talk but the patio is a little bit quieter. It's a fun spot to hit up through if you are cruising around the Shops. read more

Came here for a friend's bday. Service was slow...they only had one point of sale computer for all servers. We ordered at 6:50...but didn't get the happy hour special because our server wasn't able to imput it until after 7. The drinks were pricy after that...and we didn't stay long. read more

Place was ok. It was also dead. The server was new and very talkative, nice but didn't seem like she was trained properly. The bartender took my pizza order and then she ran out the door telling the server good luck. The bartender that took her place was not social at all. He didn't know I had ordered because I asked him to check on pizza after 30 minutes. It was definitely sitting in the window for a while. It was warm but not fresh. Hard to screw up a pizza! I would probably go back to give it second try but the establishment next door was alot of fun and service was awesome. read more

This was the last stop of the holiday after party/end of the semester/I am leaving the country soon party. I barely remember coming in here to be honest...but these are the things I do remember. This place is huge in comparison to Ringo's right next door. Really tall ceilings and really big plasmas all over the place. We could actually find a table in here and even had our own makeshift dance floor. This was the third stop on the tour of the shops (Blue Martini, Ringos, and then Scruffy Duffies). We couldnt move in Blue Martini, Ringos was crowded, and this was just right. This bar is dubbed as the "American" version of Ringo's. This would be a great place to watch the game and have some cheap adult beverages. I will have to try the food next time. read more

Best vodka cranberry I've ever had. Definitely a laid back place to go to with some friends. DJ is fantastic. This place seriously gets so packed on Saturday nights! Make sure you come early if you do go to grab a table other than that your best luck is to go to the bar. read more

Solid HH option... nice patio with fans (and heaters) with plenty of HD TVs... Service is quick, friendly, and accurate... does require DL for free 'club' for drink service... but no big deal. Can be loud on the inside after 6pm... especially if there is a band or local sports event. Would like to see the addition of a decent $3 well option... then would be a 5 Star. Best kept secret is the thin crust pizza... best imo is pepperoni, spicy meatball, cheese & habenaro pizza sauce.... sooooo good and definitely has a kick! read more

Large TV's to watch your favorite American sports game. If you want to watch European football (aka, soccer) go next door to Ringos damn it! Just kidding but really go next door. I had the Three Olives Berry vodka they have on tap with soda and the bartender poured a fair drink. They also have a few other liquors on tap to keep them nice and cold. Plenty of tables to sit at and a nice outdoor area too. read more

Went here for their New Year's Eve party. The cover was $20 per person and table reservation costed $50 for a table that seats 2 people. They did not serve food on NYE; just pizza slices. Used to love this place. It's a local spot we go out to.....but as of right now it sucks and I don't recommend. There's a guy working who has a CAST right now, DO NOT ORDER FROM HIM. He jips you on Alcohol. I watched him pour my drink and it maybe lasted 2 seconds? He says it was an once and a half....he didn't measure lmao. Whatever this place sucks. I don't want to spend $18 on sodas. Byeeeeee Scruffies. read more

What is the fire code capacity? Overcrowded. The place was okay when we first arrived..but get out WAAY early. This place does not give a care about AGE REQUIREMENT or CAPACITY LIMIT. Cocktail waitress was terrible...she was clearly there just too make a buck. She had no idea about liquors offered, so we just went to the bar ourselves. Would have left, much earlier had we not been meeting people. We bailed, once they arrived. (and the place was overcrowded with, what appeared to be underage kids, older men and "cougars") Would not recommend. read more

Service was a little slow to start, but acceptable once it got going. Atmosphere was pretty cool, especially the indoor-outdoor patio area - much less noisy than inside. Drinks were a little overpriced ($5 for a domestic pint!?), but the pizza made up for it!! 3 friends and I killed off a Steak pizza and had 1 slice left when the masacre was over. Def recommend the pizza! read more

The drinks and food were good, but the service left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I went for some drinks with coworkers and when I tabbed out, I attempted to use a gift certificate and also my card for what the certificate did not cover plus tips. They never used my gift certificate and instead charged me the full amount. I assumed this was just the pending transaction on my statement and it would be corrected. It was not. I called Scruffy Duffies to see if we could get this fixed. The Manager told me that he would take a look at the receipts from that night and call me back by the end of the day. He never called back. They clearly never intended to let me use the gift certificate or make this situation right. I would not recommend this establishment, due to a lack of trust. read more

Very crowded and smells like puke here. But a good place to hangout if you're into the college kid scene. It was a little too much for me. But it was loud with lots of people and two different rooms to walk back and forth. The one thing I liked about this place is that in one of the rooms, the whole room is open to the outside so you get that fresh air coming in while you're sitting getting your drink on. read more

I absolutely love this place! Definitely where I have spent a lot of my weekend nights with friends. Can get pretty crowded but that's normal. I love their DJ, he plays throwbacks and current hits.
