Good selection, reasonable prices, and nice staff…read more We came in today and I noticed a nice selection of clothes, even up to 5XL in men's and women's clothing. They still offer 50% discounts depending on tag color. Their carts are the one's with poles to prevent them from being removed from the premises. This is how it is done in my home town. If you need to use the restroom, you willl need to ask a cashier to get the code. I will definitely make this store a regular stop.

City Thrift is a decent sized store with a pretty large selection, but it didn't take long to…read morerealize they seem to be following the same trend as a lot of the bigger thrift chains. Anything decent, name brand, or in particularly good condition appears to get picked out and priced closer to retail than thrift-store prices. Some of the prices were honestly surprising; I saw items priced at or above what you could buy them for brand new. For a store selling donated, secondhand merchandise, I expected there to be more opportunity to actually find a deal. There's plenty to look through, but the pricing really takes away from the whole point of thrifting. The staff were pleasant to deal with so that was nice.

It's difficult to pick my favorite thing about this store: 1) the outstanding quality of the…read moredonated goods 2) the friendly neighborhood vibe 3) the helpful, resourceful staff. I started a new job this year, after years of working from home, my office wardrobe needed a serious refresh, but with the inflation of clothing prices I had to rely on buying second-hand. Once you are a Woman of a Certain Age, you can't get away with cheap and cheerful, plus, quality is better constructed, so the fit and wear is better. Second Life was an essential to me: I found Cole Hahn and AVL leather flats (almost unworn), numerous silk blouses (Marchesa Voyage, Annie Griffin), two silk skirts (one bespoke, the other from Anthropologie), dresses, jackets, a string of cultured pearls, Chicos and Eileen Fisher trousers - oh, and my last trip there, I actually scanned the books, and the selection is equally good there. Prices are higher than your average thrift, but, as you can see, so is the merchandise. It's always fair, and they run sales on the regular. I've been inspired to start putting aside some of my almost unworn or lightly worn clothes so that I can contribute to this community treasure, and keep the cycle going. This shop reminds me of everything I love about Avondale Estates / Decatur / Scottsdale / Clarkston.

I wrote 3 stars bc sadly the place doesn't have any place to try on clothes anymore. You can technically return your clothes but for me I don't really buy clothing without checking the fit first. I'm not usually one for antiques stores, but something about the little displays they had going on, made me pop my head in. I saw right off the bat that the people who run this, LOVE what they do. They take good care of their antiques and down in the 2nd area of the building, they have stalls.. I'm guessing this is where OTHERS sell their antiques on commission. It was down here I ended up finding my FIND. As we walked around I saw this.. THING. It was dark and there was a red lining. I picked it up and it was a mid century woolen cloak. Heavy and in great condition, lined with red satin, I tried it on. It fit like I was the person it was made for. There was NO way I was walking out without it. I know I live in FLA, and it's not like I NEED a heavy wool cloak, but DAMN, this was GORGEOUS, and at $49.50, I could not pass it up. I also found gloves that I'd been looking for. A ladies size 7, Oscar De Larenta, for $4. Now that's what I call a steal. Truth be told, they have antiques of Every variety, If you want good quality period peices, take a look around here in Lilburn, Ga. You may just go home with something MEANT for you.
