First on my vehicle , they did a diagnostic but didn't do a thorough inspection. They had order the parts for what they saw, but now I have to wait another week for my vehicle to be fixed as they missed a part that needed to be replace. They had no loaner or would even help. This was the worst experience ever with a service dept and chrysler dealership in general. To add more to this I had to take my my vehicle to have my exhaust fixed as the ram shop didn't have it put on correctly and exhaust was going in my cab. As well as my power steering wasn't working when I got it back from the dealer and my regular shop fixed it. I knew if I would have taken my vehicle to the dealer they would have charged me again for another diagnostic when just sitting in the cab and turning my steering wouldn't have cost 150$. I have purchased in my lifetime so far 11 different chrysler brands and even when I have relocated to a new area and started to have my vehicles serviced at the local dealers I was treated like I have purchased from them. And treated with respect. The response we can't do anything and here's your bill. I will need to find another dealer after this experience. read more

Get rid of ur online appointments You literally verify them via email, phone # & you still over book with oil changes ? Apt time 9:30, wasn't done until 12:15 for a scheduled oil change a week in advance Why bother setting up appointments if you can't adhere to a schedule, or is the question how incompetent are ur mechanics it takes this long for an oil change ? I could have did this myself 20 minutes, only reason I'm here it's the wife's car & she wants the dealer to do it My time is worth more than the oil change itself, let alone pointlessly sit around a few hours waiting I came on time. i had the fluid in the tranny checked they said it was over filled by 3/4 quart. I said ok could you take that out, but no, they had to do a complete tran service for about $400 plus. They were the ones that did the trans service 10,000 miles ago. It would have taken them 10 minutes to suck 3/4 quart out of the trans. this is after I paid them $68 to check the level. I would have thought they would do that. So now I have to pay someone to suck fluid out for me, unbelievable... read more

Not only is Chrysler the worst car manufacturer but Scranton dodge is the worst as well. This is our first Chrysler and never again. BOught brand new in 2019. The next day took it on vacation and have had nothing but problems ever since. -corroded/rusted hood (2 years in) really? (replaced under warranty but cmon) - engine coolant leak and repair (1 year in) under warranty but cmon. - replaced actuator (1 year in) - continued engine coolant league and repairs (4 appts. And still not corrected) - grey smoke pours out of the exhaust with the worse toxic smell ever (still not fixed) they have caused our family to repair things such as replacing the 2 batteries (over $300) all bc they are grasping at straws at what is wrong with our minivan. 4 appts later and still. it fixed but each time they tell me this.....really! i literally get the car home from their repairs and notice the issues are still there. I call the next day to donut all over again and again and again and now for the 5th time next week. This company should be ashamed of themselves! My mechanic found the issues in 1 appt. But won't fix it bc it's all under warranty (power train/engine) with Chrysler but they are obviously incompetent And give yjubthe run around until my warranty expires in 5k more miles. I've taken my complaints up with Chrysler themselves and nothing! They actually just tell me to take it back for service. Never buying from Scranton dodge again and glad to spread the word. read more

Around 1245 this afternoon my car had not been taken in for service. When I dropped it off for my 1030 APPOINTMENT, I was told it would be ready in 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon my return, I learned it was next to go in and the recall software update would take about 30 minutes. When I asked why it hadn't already been started, I was told technicians have to complete each car they put on a lift. "It's like going to your doctor's office", she said with a straight face. If my doctor wasted nearly four hours of my day, I would find a new doctor, just like I'm going to take my Jeep to a different Jeep dealership for the software update that is supposed to fix the burning oil issue. read more

If I could give half a star I would!! I just bought a used car from here over the weekend. We had made a deal a week ago on the sale price and when I came in to pick it up and sign everything they would not give me the price we agreed on. It wasn't the sales reps fault it was the manager Mike McConkey who came over and was an absolute prick to me when I explained the deal we made. He knew he was in the wrong because they messed up on the numbers on their end with sales tax and were trying to say because the sales tax came out less that they weren't changing the price of the vehicle like we originally agreed on. They should have taken the hit and not me. Any other dealership would have just taken the hit for their mistake and just fixed it. He told the sales rep that he had to eat the difference if they were selling me the car for less, except it wasn't the sales reps fault it was the finance department and dealership themselves. This guy Mike was trying to make me look stupid when I know what I agreed upon and the paper was right in front of us!! He never lowered the price to what we agreed and I only walked out with the car because it was for my husband. But I will never EVER buy a car from this place again. On top of that they detailed and cleaned the car so shitty and left a dent on the back of it without fixing it. My husband had to go clean the car himself as it was a disaster. How can they even get away with that? I have never had a problem like this when buying a car from any other dealership. I will definitely never recommend this place. Read other reviews too you'll see no one is ever happy here. Go somewhere else who will respect you and appreciate your business more because this place definitely didn't appreciate me. read more

I bought a used Jeep end of August 2023. I was told that the vehicle has gone through a multi point inspection and that all of the suggested services have been completed. Fast forward to November 2023 and while driving the check engine light comes on and it starts to not run correctly. I schedule a "diagnostic appointment" and they told me that it was my spark plugs and that it was not covered under the warranty because it was considered maintenance. I was upset because I had asked that question when I had bought it, but decided to get the spark plugs all changed because that's what they recommended even though it was $550.00. They do the work I go to pick it up and make it less than one block and the car is running worse than when I dropped it off. I take it back and they tell me that they are not sure what is wrong, and ask me to wait. I say that I have to get back to work and they find someone to shuttle me back. After further checking they are not able to find out what is wrong, even though they drove it and feel the issue, because they computer is not producing a code. The next day the Manager calls me and says that they still cannot find the issue because there aren't any codes coming up, and that they need to put a "tracker" on it and drive it so that they can see what it going on. They asked for permission to drive my car and I consented. I called one week later to get an update and spoke with Shannon. She took the message and said she needed to talk to dispatch and call me back. She called back and said that they did not have the tracker. It was in another car and they were trying to get it back, and that when they do they will put it in my car and then have me drive it around. I was very upset and did not understand how they could give me a car back that was not running right to drive, and possibly break down with. After going back and forth with Shannon I gave up and ended the call. Called a week later left a message and no return call. Still no updates, and I guess any idea of what is wrong with my vehicle, after 2 weeks. I was lucky enough to get a loaner, but I would much rather have my own vehicle. read more

The man who sold it to us was Richard Fissler & he was great!! He showed us every renegade they had, went over every single detail and made sure we knew everything. Like others have commented, the service department is terrible. Dropped my wife's vehicle off for a few assorted issues. I didn't have an appointment scheduled so I understood it may take a few days to get it in. After several days, I did a follow up call and was advised that no problems could be found. I pick up the vehicle and within two days the check engine light was back on and the other problems are still very present. I honestly don't think they put much effort into our warranty work. After all, these are factory trained techs...right? Very disappointed that we wasted our time. I now know they are not the place to visit for service. Fortunately, there are other options for us to get our service completed. Factory warranties are not restricted to the place of purchase. In regards to the original purchase, everything with our salesman was fine. We made a couple of visits to look at the vehicle, request a loan, signed papers no complaints on the sales person, but the dreaded "sales manager" almost made us walk out the door. Literally three attempts of selling an extended warranty that isn't worth the paper it's written on. Finally, after doing a quick google search and reading countless terrible reviews on the warranty company they were trying to sell me, I showed him the overwhelming negative feedback and the sales manager quietly walked away. I don't like the high pressure sales tactics, especially on a low quality warranty. In summary, I will never step foot in their building again. read more

I spoke with a salesman about trading in my vehicle, made an appointment to have it appraised. When I got there, he was not there and I was advised to speak to another salesman. He was less than accommodating, did not introduce himself (I had to research online to find his name), did not get up from his seat to speak to me, and ultimately did not want to deal with me at all. The appraised value was decent and I have bought a few vehicles from this dealership, but will take my business elsewhere moving forward. read more

I waited 7months for a part that they ordered wrong and I still had to wait three weeks to get an appointment after they didn't even tell me my part was in. To top everything off I was given my vehicle just before closing to avoid dealing with me to find out it wasn't fixed. 25 years ago we had a bad experience with this dealer, but like idiots, we thought it may have changed. We bought a one year old certified jeep, and the next day, the oil change message came up. I called the dealer and told them, and also told them that the radio was picking up virtually nothing. They said to bring it in. They changed the oil and then charged us for it!!!! They also downloaded an "update" for the radio. No change in reception! A few weeks later, a jeep the same as ours parked next to us, and that's when I noticed they had an antenna sticking up, and we didn't!! I called the dealer and the salesman said he'd look into it and get back to me. I called or emailed three times over the next few months. Always the same! I wouldn't be upset if I hadn't complained the first day! But, 6 months after we got it, I finally ordered an antenna online....it was $13 (so it probably would have cost the dealer like maybe $7. ) Fast forward a few months, and we go to get an inspection, and notice we never got a registration. So we call DOV, and they tell us that the license plate that we have (and got from Scranton Dodge) is registered to someone else. (This could have been a disaster if we had been stopped). It took us days to get it straightened out, and never even got an apology from the dealer for any of this (though they did reimburse us to get a new license plate). Total lack of customer care. We buy a vehicle once a year, but we will NEVER buy from this dealer again! read more

I brought my truck in for service, great service center, took care of all my issues.

I stopped by to get an oil change at their, no appointment needed "Express Lane". Waited while a couple of employees were socializing. Then the young woman said she had to take care of another customer and would be right back and check on the wait for an oil change. 15 min later I was told there was a 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. Don't advertise Express Service when there is none. Why she didn't call back to the service department first so I didn't have to wait is beyond me. Poorly managed. I bought my truck at their Tunkhannock sister dealer. Too far to go for an oil change. So much for Pompey Points. read more

I drove 2 hours to this dealership for a car I was interested in. I called ahead to ask questions about this car in particular. I get there and the car is beautiful from the outside, but as you drove the car, the sensors did not work, which they then told me when the prices it out to fix ( it was a Mazda) it would be $3k. The price was competitive , however not competitive enough. When trying to negotiate there was no room for negotiation. The price was firm. They didn't seem like they wanted our business. Matt Pompey, I think you have not received all the facts in my issue. Scranton dealership did not provide any assistance in the registration. My wife and I went to Maryland MVA and registered the truck ourselves. If anything, the dealership made it more difficult. I think the lady at MVA is still trying to figure out why your dealership attempted to use a motorcycle registration form for a truck. Bought a used 2015 Dodge Journey with 30k miles on it. 2 years and 10k miles later the transmission went. The factory warranty ran up 6 days prior to the issue and the dealership was no help at all. A transmission should never need to be replaced on a vehicle with only 40 thousand miles on it. 2 weeks later and multiple calls later the issue still isn't resolved! read more

They took our car from the tow truck around twenty minutes before closing, given that we were out of state. They diagnosed the problem as a bad coil pack and spark plug, and split the cost between us (since plugs aren't covered) and Chrysler-- essentially Chrysler paid for replacing a coil pack and we paid for replacing a plug. Got us right back on the road for much less money than we expected. Their waiting area is the very best of any Chrysler dealership I've ever been to, their people were both nice and competent, and the place as a whole was so far above the usual Chrysler standards it's just not funny. read more

Not really a complainer, but... I tried calling service dept about a part for Jeep Patriot, nobody answered - so I left a message, no big deal. Then when I didn't hear back in 3 days, I tried again. Again, no answer so I left another message. This time the service dept called me back, but I missed the call. I Tried to get right back to him right away, but, yep - got the machine again (and the extension they said to call didn't work). These guys are an absolute joke on the service end. I took my jeep there for an inspection and a problem with an airbag sensor. I was first told that they would be unable to sticker my care b/c of a license plate cover. Then after that they told me that the sensor problem was so serious I should leave the car there until they ordered the part, which I was told would take 3 days. I never heard anything after the 3 days and called to see what was up- it only took me an additional 2 days to get a hold of anyone, only for them to tell me the wrong parts came in. They then told me to pick the car up and I was good to go, giving me the inspection sticker. They explained they would call me back when the part came in. Everytime i try to call this dealership i cannot get through to a real person and even after leaving 2 messages no one got back to me and i had to go into the dealership to make an appointment. I went to the dealership and waited 10 minutes before being helped to be told that the car is completely ready meanwhile the day before told that it would be done, they let me take the car but now i have to go back since they have to do more work and i needed the car. Not much to say. The sales department is fantastic rich fistler is a great guy . My salesperson always kept up with me made sure evrything was ok. he called every 3 months to do a check . The service department on the other hand is horrible. Bought a used car last year and immediatley after i bought it had transmission problems. Service guy said nothing wrong with it that was normal with this type of vehicle transmission. Well this was in november, the car was put into storage for the winter and when i brought it out in the spring still had the same problem. Well since i was told it was normal i kept driving it till it started kicking out of gear. So i took it back. They said the clutch was bad and it was going to cost upwards of $1500. When i asked to talk to someone they told me the person wasnt available he'll call me back. The next day at noon i called still not available. Skip forward. I had to call 7 days later and was transferred between 3 people. Finally spoke with matt who said it wasnt covered and they wouldnt work with me on the cost. His exact words were " I will not." His reason is the tires were bad so the vehicle wasnt properly maintained. So he wont do anything. The vehicle has been to every maintance call oil changed religiously. Only 10,000 miles have been put on since it was bought last october. And the tires were low on tread then. So needless to say if you buy a used car from scranton dodge ,be prepared to be taken for a ride (no pun intended).read the other service reviews on this page. This place is the worst. I got a recall notice that my air bags could deploy at any moment and I needed a part to fix it. I got the recall on jan 4th 2014 and called immediately. They said I was "50th on the list and they would contact me in a month or so" 3 months go by and I get another notice in the mail to get the airbags fixed so I call again. Now I'm 30th on list and I'll expect a call in a few weeks. Long story short, a YEAR goes by and I finally file a complaint with safercar.gov. So I call them back and tell the lady that now there is 2 open recalls on my jeep and I filed a complaint. All of a sudden she says "oh your next on the list I was going to call you this week" that's such bullshit. I was furious. Then they make me wait over 2 hours in the waiting room. Their business practices are horrible. I never will recommended this place to anyone. read more

Horrible service, walked around parking lot for 25 minutes before I decided to go in the store. Was greeted kindly by a lady at the front desk, but again waited while employees walked all around. The salesman I finally talked to seemed like I was interrupting his day. To make a long story short, when I told him I was going to shop around for the best price, that was it, he logged off the computer and told me to tell them to beat the price if they want. My Dodge Durango is currently at Scranton Dodge. It was towed there this morning. It is now 3:30 pm and they still did not "get it in to look at it yet!" I asked them to check my extended service warranty through Mopar and they told me they did. I would get a rental car covered after they diagnosis the issue. But, then the representative said, even if we get it in and diagnosed, I still do not have a rental care for you. What?????? You are a car dealership and you do not have a rental care for me? Had I known, that I would have told the tow guy to take it to a Dodge dealer closer to my home, where they do believe in customer service and I would have a rental car to get home and to work tomorrow! The service department is terrible. They told me a part needed to repair my car would be in last Friday, it is now the following Thursday and the car is still not repaired. I had to call three times and leave messages with no return call. I received a call on Monday advising me to make an appointment to bring my car in because the new part had arrived, they already HAD my car. Today I refused to leave a message and demanded to talk to the service manager who said the part just came in and the car would be ready today. I'm still waiting. No communication between departments and poor communication with customers. read more
