I haven't been back to Scramblers since last year. I went today to use my free entree birthday coupon. I was going to indulge in French toast or pancakes, but I have a lot of cake-like things at home, so I decided to get an omelette, even though I didn't remember them as being particularly good in the past. I ordered coffee, which was good, hot & strong, but not too much so. And I've always loved that they leave a little pot at the table so you can refill it yourself. Then, I decided to get the Ultimate Omelette, which had pretty much everything in it, plus sour cream on top. I was pleasantly surprised -- it was really tasty! I chose a biscuit, which had a nice flavor, but it was a weird consistency; it wasn't the regular doughy, traditional biscuit like you'd have for a sandwich. It was more the consistency of cornbread, but not that flavor. It was also kind of pale and just like a blob, rather than a distinct circle or square or rectangle. Not bad, but weird. I also got the grits, but I made the mistake of getting them plain; even with salt & pepper, they were kind of tasteless. But, I have half of everything left over, so I will fix them when I eat them later. My server, Hayley, was particularly pleasant. She seemed to really enjoy her job and she just felt really welcoming. I'd previously pretty much written off this restaurant (except for the freebies), but this experience just may put it back into rotation. read more

This was by far the worst breakfast experience I've had. The latte was unpleasant, the sourdough French toast was terrible, and the fried egg was felt more like a scrambled egg. The only decent part of the meal was the chunky potatoes. I took just a couple of bites of the French toast and a few potatoes before giving up. For $26, this was a complete waste. Honestly, I would have been much better off going next door for a bagel. read more

This place was so good! We met our kids & grandkids last Friday! (One of our sons even wore his Green Bay Packer jacket and that started lots of conversation with our server. ) We had an awesome server who was great with our 2 littles too! My buddy suggested we meet up at Scramblers for lunch, so we decided to give it a try. The place was pretty busy, and we waited about 30 minutes to get seated--not too bad, considering the crowd. One of the first things that stood out on the menu was the "bottomless griddle" option, which I thought was a really nice touch. There were three of us dining in, and they brought out a coffee carafe for the table--such a thoughtful way to keep our coffee topped up! I ordered the hash and eggs. The hash was absolutely delicious, though my eggs were a little overcooked for my liking. Still, the overall meal was enjoyable. All in all, Scramblers is a cozy spot with friendly staff. When I arrived at Scramblers, I thought "oh, another breakfast joint". I was pleasantly wrong. Scramblers had one of the most extensive breakfast menus that I have seen in a while. From Bennys to skillets to omlettes, you have a wide variety to choose from. The service is prompt and friendly and the food os's delicious. Portions are generous and pricing is reasonable. My girl friends wanted to meet here for lunch and told me that one of them have have eaten at a few of these and they are good ( should have taken that with a grain of salt since they think Ram's Horn is great). The place looks like it has been around a while and why mess with it. Comfortable old shoe type. They were in a booth so I joined them. Menus have been well loved with some type almost unreadable. Typical brunch menu of normal breakfast items with sandwiches and salads for the lunch side of brunch. I had to order the Monte Cristo sandwich but almost got the eggs Benedict, my 2 normal to do my reviews. One of my friends got the stuff French toast and the other a waffle. Very big portions so we took part home. While my friends liked theirs, my sandwich took me back to college and the food service version of the Monte Cristo. So to say it didn't make my top 10 says it all. I might be back if we need to meet between our places but that would be the only way I would be back. read more

The food at the restaurant is solid and a good value for the cost. The service is more challenged. This visit it took more than 5-7 minutes to even be acknowledged even with several employees passing by and I order a bowl of soup and salad at it took me 30 minutes to get any food. When I asked about it, I was told they are busy and only have 3 waitresses working. They can 1 or 10, but limited time available at lunchtime means I can't wait 30 minutes to get food read more

My wife and stopped at Scramblers for a Saturday breakfast. We split the vegetable omelette and the banana nut pancakes. Both were very good. The potatoes with the omelet were a nice addition. There was a lot to like about scramblers: * They bring a coffee carafe. This is my second time here and did not hold up to my fond memory of visiting here in 2018. The omelette had an insane amount of cheese on it. I love cheese, but this was a sickening amount and I ended up scrapping much of it off. I should have removed the orange slice covering the fruit salad to show how pitiful. Just cantaloupe, watermelon, and honey dew. I was hoping for strawberries and blueberries since those are on the menu for French toast items. Not sure I will return again. read more

Solid breakfast spot. We came at 11am on a Saturday and waited about 10 mins to be seated for our party of 2. They have complimentary coffee in the lobby which was very nice. When you are seated you are given a carafe of water and if you get coffee you also get a carafe so there is no waiting for refills which was super nice. I stopped in for a solo brunch. Ordered the shrimp and grits and the lemon blueberry pancakes. The shrimp and grits were bad. It was terrible idea to add so many tomatoes on top. The shrimp were probably sautéed instead of grilled (which is how you'd expect them to be). The grits were undercooked, like they just boiled them a few minutes and poured them on the plate. Bad choice on my end. The server, Bill, noticed that I didn't care for it and was very accommodating to try to fix it. It was nothing on their end as they do advertise it that way. What a delightful late morning lunch we shared at Scramblers! Start to finish, every associate was pleasant, skilled and accommodating. The inner space is large, with comfortable booths and chairs for groups large and small. And, it is clean. Complimentary coffee is available for patrons who are waiting to be seated. Today's brew was a flavored "Jazzy Java". Nice touch. I ordered the "One & One" half sandwich and a cup of the soup of the day, along with tap water for the table. Desiree, our kind server, brought the iced water to our table in a carafe with lemon slices. Thoughtful. My Broccoli Cheddar soup was thick and flavorful, though I wish it had been served hotter. The Chicken Flatbread sandwich with tomato, Swiss and spinach was warm and the flatbread crispy. It came with hollandaise sauce on the side which was ok. We stayed nearly an hour (after notifying the hostess up front) to work after our meal, and tipped accordingly. I can honestly say it's a wonderful place for a power lunch or short meeting. 1st & LAST time! i generally eat pancakes elsewhere however, being as though this chain was enroute to work I figured I'd give them a try. I should've known better when I was $7.50 for ONE pancake! Traveled up for NAIAS and stayed down the street from the Scramblers in Farmington Hills. We got takeout here as we were heading out to return home and Jaz was SO friendly and helpful. She made recommendations that were easy to eat behind the wheel. I ordered the zesty smokehouse sandwich and she offered to wrap the bottom half of the sandwich in cling wrap to hold it together. Her wrapping skills are spot-on. Nothing spilled out so I got to enjoy every delicious bite. I skipped lunch because it was so filling. My friend got the classic breakfast and he finished every bite and raved about how fluffy the pancakes were. Shout-out to Jaz! She was amazing, cheerful, and service-minded to a level unheard of now. They put such a sparce amount of spinach leaves on top and none inside and didn't put any zucchini that comes with it and lots of tomato that I asked not to have. Great food and service. I had the uncle moose's skillet, I added mushrooms and spinach. My sister got the veggie omelet and added chorizo (obviously she's not a vegetarian lol). Most skillets I get from restaurants forget to season the potatoes which are the base. Not at scramblers!! The skillet was seasoned to perfection at all layers. My sister's omelet was also seasoned great and a good balance of veggies/meat. Patrons sit every other table allowing for social distancing. They did have outdoor sitting but today the bees deciding they wanted to sit at the tables. The hostess advised us that she would not recommend sitting outside because the bees were vicious today. As we sat at our table in the window we could definitely see the bees swarming. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. read more

I was here in Farmington for a wedding and was tired of hotel food. So, breakfast it is! Neat little restaurant with a Shoney's atmosphere (a clean Shoney's). I had the Southwest Omelet after debating AUCE french toast against the possibility of rupturing myself after gorging. Glad I went with the omelet. It was great! Unfortunately, my recent visit to scramblers left much to be desired. If i could give them 0 stars I would. We were seated quite quickly which gave us high hopes only for those hopes to be crushed when we couldn't even get drinks for 15 minutes let alone a server to say hello. Once the hostess, who I will say was very nice and helpful grabbed a waitress for us, we ordered for all 8 of us two of which are kids. We asked for the kids food to be brought out first because it had already been a while. As the food arrived my son's food still hadn't arrived. About 10 minutes after everyone had received their food, my son finally received his chicken tenders and fries. My husband went to cut the chicken and we were shocked to find that it was completely raw in the center. Could you possibly imagine your 4 yr old son eating raw chicken? Not only was this a major health concern but it completely ruined our dining experience. Having to see that doesn't leave much to the appetite. When the waitress was flagged down and informed about the chicken, we were told that it would be removed from the bill for the inconvenience. I would hope that it would be removed from the bill considering it was inedible and not just as our accommodation. Several minutes later the waitress came back with "new" chicken tenders and fries as an I'm sorry even though they were not requested. What a nice gesture except for the fact that it was in fact the same chicken tenders that had been refried. My husband noticed that the same spots he had cut the chicken before were still cut on these "new" chicken tenders. Absolutely preposterous. To say that I was speechless is an understatement. Some of the staff were apologetic but It's extremely concerning to me that such a basic safety food measure was overlooked. Until they can assure proper food handling practices I'm not sure anybody should eat here. In the end the manager was called so we could inform her and she said they she would give us a discount on the whole bill however if this was any decent restaurant they would make sure we walked out of there not paying a dime to an establishment that potentially gave a 4 yr old salmonella. Quality dining experiences are paramount to me, and unfortunately this restaurant did not meet any standards. read more
