So expect that - they go over the car with a fine tooth comb. They also scratched my truck pulling into the bay scraping against the column - no mention of that until I saw it. They failed the inspection for a strut they said was leaking - never did a bounce test as there was nothing wrong with the strut- it had some oil due to hard compression in climbing an ice bank in the ice storm a few weeks prior- they could have just wiped it off instead they failed it and then tried to sell me new struts - for 1700.00 the invoice had the struts listed twice so double the cost for the parts plus a generous markup - they said it was a 2 1-2 hour job - when the book says it's typically 45 minutes each strut or 11/2 hours so boosted the labor cost . After getting home I noticed a lug nut was broken - had to return to have them fix that. The staff is nice enough - but I cannot recommend the shop. In my opinion I would go somewhere else for inspections and any repair service - especially if you want a fair price. Ps - the car in front of me was failed for the same reason- I guess it was fail tie rods or struts day. I took my vehicle to a different shop for the reinspection and to check the struts.

My neighbor recommended this location to me based on their reliability, work ethic, price point and…read morecustomer service interaction. I needed to locate two empty oil drums. And, after calling numerous other locations with no luck and rude staff, I called Midas. Amber answered the phone, with nothing more than hospitality in her voice. I asked her about the empty oil drums, and she asked me to hold. I waited less than 20 seconds before she returned with a response. I was told they did have a couple, and was offered them free of charge. Unlike a few other places that want anywhere from $10-30 per drum. When I arrived to pick up the drums, I was greeted immediately. That was a wonderful first impression. I was asked to back up to a bay and the drums were brought out. The gentleman loaded the drums in the back of the truck for me, and wished me a good day. Now, that may not sound like much to some, but as someone who still remembers how customer service standards used to be, I appreciated the hell out of this location. They have a firm grasp on what it takes to stay in business: The customer. I will not even bother with another location for my vehicle needs. This very small interaction with the team members here told me everything I need to know about their business practices. It's absolutely absurd to me that more places don't adopt the Midas way of doing business.

Honest technicians and manager!…read more I am a car enthusiast and have been around the block and know a service center or two. I brought my vehicle here for a third opinion because the two I received earlier at other places were polar opposites. I dont know the name of the manager at this place but he is simply awesome - knowledgeable and honest. What more can you ask for!! They fixed my issue and charged me only part of the amount because it was not fixed completely right the first time. Just sitting in the waiting area and watching the manager deal with the customers and giving them honest feedback and guidance is a testament to why this place is always so busy! Keep up the awesomeness..you have a loyal customer.

I just got out of a bad experience with a dishonest auto repair shop in Winchester…read more I had used A1 in the past & was happy with their service then, so I decided to go back to them to check the condition of my brakes on my 2016 VW GTI. After A1 checked the brakes out, I got a call back from Randy saying that everything looked good & no repairs were necessary! What a pleasant change from my last experience. I would highly recommend A1 Auto Service Center! I'll be using them from now on with any auto repairs I need to have done!

Now, I will tell you, we have patronized their establishment since we purchased the vehicle for regular maintenance, and they have always been wonderful. However, it was not until we were in real distress that the true value of this establishment shone through! Ben Shabib has been working with us from the beginning, and he is truly a Godsend. In addition to knowing my wife and I BY NAME and greeting us with professionalism and respect EVERY TIME, he PERSONALLY took an interest in the status of our repair job. Regardless of what vehicle you drive, A1 is truly one of the best service centers I have ever known. If you have car troubles, and are within three states of these guys, it is WORTH THE TOW to get your vehicle to them. I could go on, but I am worried about running out of space in this review. Thank you, A1 Auto Service Center, and WELL DONE!

Mar 2026 - NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS DEALERSHIP.... 3 weeks and no one calls, or provides updates…read moreon the vehicle, unless they want money and to charge for the vehicle to sit on their property. Where to start the horrible service and billing add-ons? Had my Ram 1500 towed from Carmax on a Carmax warranty to the dealership for diagnosis on why it would not start. It was the radio frequency hub, which is covered by the warranty. The initial reason it went bad by the dealership was because of water leak. No signs of water leak, no smell of mold, no pictures to prove it was the water. Asked the dealership to contanct the warranty company and request for an investigator to come out. Dealship did not request the warrenty but wanted me to pay over $4k to get the hub replaced and fix the leak. In the end, I had to pay for the RF Hub, and then they tried to charge me for towing my truck into the bay, plus and extra charge for them to remove the seat to access the RF Hub. Isn't that what general labor charge is for? NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS DEALERSHIP

Chronology of Events:…read more 1. March 28, 2025 - First Incident My vehicle was towed to your dealership due to a complete transmission malfunction. Diagnostic codes (P1DB9, U0101, U0402) were retrieved. The issue was traced to a faulty connection in the XY230A connector. I was charged $148.58 (including an unspecified discount), despite the repair reportedly falling under the powertrain warranty. No rental vehicle was provided despite multiple requests. 2. August 4, 2025 - Second Incident The Jeep was again towed in for intermittent shifting issues. A single code (U0402) was retrieved. No issues could be duplicated by your team, and the vehicle was returned without repair or charge. Again, no rental vehicle was offered. 3. August 12, 2025 - Third Incident Similar transmission issues led to the retrieval of codes P1DB9, U0101, and U0402. A faulty valve body and TCM were diagnosed and replaced under warranty. No rental vehicle was provided despite repeated requests. 4. September 16, 2025 - Fourth Incident Transmission issues recurred, with the same codes reappearing. Your team diagnosed a faulty engine and transmission wiring harness and also replaced the starter (which was damaged during the repair process). Repairs were completed under warranty, and I picked up the vehicle on October 14--after nearly a month without reliable transportation. A rental vehicle was only made available on the evening of October 8, despite multiple requests during the four-week service period. Customer Service and Repair Quality Concerns: During and after the most recent service, I experienced serious issues beyond the mechanical failure itself: Lack of Communication: Repeated requests for updates went largely unanswered, leaving me in the dark for extended periods. Delayed Rental Car Provision: A rental was only provided well into the fourth week of service, despite my multiple and timely requests. Vehicle Condition Upon Return: Upon picking up the vehicle, I noted and reported the following concerns: Fender liners improperly installed (now corrected) Power wire for aftermarket tow harness routed incorrectly (corrected personally) Damaged interior trim (pending replacement) Gouge/scuff marks on interior panels (pending assessment by a specialist) Missing exhaust clamp causing increased noise and interior odor (now resolved) Interior left dirty with visible grease and grime (cleaned personally) Additional issues since discovered: Loose upper trim on passenger side Loose/misaligned lower interior B-pillar trim Loose ground wires Worst experience of my life no respect at all for my vehicle and still no return email from the general Manager Ralph Perkins. Justin Watson failed to make sure my Jeep ground issue was correct when picking up the Jeep so when the tech came out he notice yet another thing broken and had to order new battery terminals. Rob the tech was embarrassed and has shown more concern than anyone. He actually took a moment to care how they left my vehicle. The loose ground cause the Jeep to cut off right in the bay on 10/23/2025.
