This place takes me back to the old Shenango Valley Mall days when I worked at the record store next to Scotto's. The pizza is still very: very good. We go with choose or with the veggie pizza with Italian sausage. No matter what you will get authentic and delicious pizza. FYI this pizza is every bit as good reheated as it is the first day. Food is great. Even though it is a pizza place, the Strombolis, subs, pasta, and much more are very good choices. The services is very good, better communication, for a restaurant with limited seating. I would give this four stars because I prefer to sit in a restaurant but Scotto's seems to be the type of restaurant that prefers carry out. read more

i normally LOVE Scotto's pizza. what a disappointment.... our large 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 cheese pizza was so over cooked. The crust was as hard as a rock, the cheese was wayy too dark, and the bottom was hard and dark brow. i guess next time order it under-cooked? Scotto's pizza has been a favorite since they were originally in the shenango valley mall years ago. They moved to their current location on east state street and have been serving up fresh, delicious New York style pizza ever since! My mom was from New York and this is the only pizza she ever ate around here. The owners are friendly and wonderful to talk to! Great pizza! I placed a fairly large order and they were able to get it out timely and everything tasted fantastic. It was getting a little busy when I was there (beginning of lunch rush) so I would definitely order ahead. They had pizza by the slice which seemed pretty quick. I definitely recommend them. The only hang up is the don't deliver due to staffing issues. But, that's not completely abnormal this day and age. read more

Tough debate between a four star and a five star. The staff and owners are very nice. Pizza out of the ovens are very good. Tiny bit pricey in my opinion but fair I suppose. Not a big fan of pizza they sell already made and waiting. They heat it back up in the oven which is fine but if the pizza has been on the counter for awhile it just seems much crunchier and hard when reheated. When they get it right, their pizza is not bad. But that's a 50 50 chance of it happening. Just got a pizza with 4 toppings on it. You get up to five with the N Y style pizza without additional costs. I did it online. I got a plain cheese pizza. And worse than that, it was burnt. It was like eating cardboard with burnt cheese. Since I had already paid for it, all I got was a 'ohh sorry, call it in the next time.' That is two burnt pizzas in a row. At least the time before it included the toppings. We were passing thru on our way back to Illinois and we stopped for lunch. The pizza looked great but my wife wanted a sandwich and I figured a small Stromboli would work for me. The owner is a real character! All Italian! My wife didn't want tomatoes, peppers, or Italian dressing on her sandwich and the boss gave her a hard time for not being Italian! Lol! I loved it. When we ordered we had no idea it would take a half hour for our order. Who knew the Stromboli was made from scratch and needed plenty of time to bake? That's quality! It was delicious! And even tho my wife "wrecked" her sandwich it was great too! The bread was fresh and toasted and the meat and cheese was perfect! I really want to love this place. We've ordered here to go twice in the past few months and both times our orders were incorrect. The first time they made it right because the error was discovered when picked up. This last time though we didn't realize that we were given the wrong stuffed pizza until we got home because the insides aren't visible. It's frustrating to not get what you ordered -- especially 2 out of 2 times. The pizza is better than good. We've tried the deep dish, two different stuffed pizzas, and the regular pizza pies with thin crust. The ingredients are great. The crust is delicious (especially if thick is your thing on the deep dish and stuffed pizzas). It reheats really well! My biggest complaint though is the sauce ratio seems really out of proportion. Especially on the deep dish pizza -- it seems to absorb all the sauce. It needs much more sauce and perhaps some extra for dipping as well. Perhaps this is a personal preference, but everyone in our party of 6 agreed that more sauce would have taken it from a 6 out of 10 to a 9 or 10 out of 10. Dipping sauce also made the stuffed pizzas even better. The deep dish and stuffed pizzas are a fantastic value. One slice is really filling, so you can get a lot of meals out of them. read more

This was my childhood pizza. I arrived to come and eat here all the time. I've recently visited to have some, and wanted to show my husband the wonderful pizza of the Sharon hermitage area. I was greater rather rudely, yelled at for requesting more pizza than he initially expected, then over charged. He's not the same, kind, wonderful person who used to own this business. Hands down the best pizza in Western PA. I'm from New York and I can honestly say this is true NY pizza!!! The sauce isn't just dumped from a jar! The crust is thin, soft with a nice flavor.
