a scorpion on a food truck

I don't know why, but for me, the allure of food served out of a gas station, truck or any other non-traditional space, has been very high. You can imagine my delight when we found this mobile eatery that is an old RV, and sitting in and out different gas station. It actually may be the perfect set up for food trucks! Easy access in and out, shade for when it's sunny and protection from the elements when it's not. These folks have been here for about six months and add to the enormous list of Mexican spots in town that are better than just about anywhere else in the country! As stated, this place is running out of an old school RV that has spray paint all of the side announcing what it is they do and some of the things that they serve. On their menu they have a good variety, and pretty standard for a mobile restaurant. Six or seven types of Meet are your options for street tacos, burritos, sopes, Fortas and flautas. We ended up sampling five or six of the meats and found them all to be quite delicious! The rockstar of the group was the Adovada - this was far and away the best we've found in the area. Boisterous flavor with just a hint of kick. We may exclusively order this every time we come here. Tacos are $1.50 each and sopes are $2.50 each. For lunch it's easy to get out of here for about 10 bucks total. Nothing better! The ladies working here are very friendly and do an incredible job of making some crazy good food! The Mexican food in Yakima is almost always awesome, and this place takes it to another level by serving it out of an RV... A+

Some of the best tacos from a Taco bus I've ever had. Don't let the spray paint fool you these guys know what good flavor is.

The tacos were not good! The taco was really soggy and the chorizo was not cooked all the way.

Great vegetarian options in Yakima!…read more Quality: most vegetarian and Mexican places only give you rice beans and tomatoes as an option. These guys have well seasoned, actual vegetables and plentiful options that don't just seem like a taco with meat missing, butt seem like a complete food option. I got the potato tacos and the veggie burrito and both were very well done. So potatoes needed a little salt, but nothing that I couldn't fix at the table. Quantity: i'm a big guy and I eat a lot. But even I could only finish one taco and half a burrito. massive quantity! Price: $13 for a burrito that can feed 2! Ambiance: standard Mexican decor. It was clean and outdoor dining was available.

They brought out refreshing cups of water, chips and 6 types of salsa, while we reviewed the menu. The "chips" are actually whole corn tortillas fried! So you use them whole or break them into chips yourself. My guess on the salsas are: salsa verde (tomatillo), avocado, pico de gallo, a smoky ancho, a citrusy habanero, and something else. They all had distinct flavors and a little light spice, but we wanted spicier. They brought out the "no way Jose" sauce and warned us it's their spiciest and it sneaks up on ya! We tried it and found it was not burning but quite nice. We drizzled this sauce all over our food. It was the most flavorful of the bunch. The menu is quite extensive, with everything from sopas to sopes, tortas to tacos, cocktails to desserts. We each got a plate of food, meaning the main entree comes with Mexican red rice and refried beans. I got the sopita (aka sope) with barbacoa and a fish taco and husband got a dipped torta (I forget the name) filled with adobada. The amount of food and meat was quite generous, the toppings (veggies) too. I really enjoyed my sope - it had the perfect crispy crust and I could taste the slightly sweet creamy taste of the masa. The barbacoa was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. It was more like stewed beef meat. It was fine but I was expecting really deep flavor. The fish taco seemed freshly grilled and was moist, but there was a bit of a "fishy" smell and flavor that kind of took over. Thankfully, the generous veggie toppings and fresh handmade corn tortilla and salsas helped mask the flavor. Have to hand it to them that those tortillas are really good! The Mexican rice was perfect. I haven't had that flavor and texture in Mexican rice in a while and thought that was well done. The refried beans were good but also had a flavor I couldn't place my finger on... My husband said everything was really good on his plate. His torta was massive! Really flavorful and stacked with things. The adobada was very tasty. I wish I ordered that meat instead of the barbacoa and fish. Overall pretty good Mexican food, generous portions, really sweet service. The interior is also really clean and nicely decorated. They have a small parking lot out back.

Can't remember the exact name, but essentially it's a Mole burrito. Huge and delicious.

The Mexican food here is reliably solid, starting with the complimentary salsa, Mexican curtido…read more(cabbage slaw), and chips--a great way to ease into the meal. The staff is friendly and efficient, which makes it an ideal spot for a relaxed lunch. The restaurant is medium sized with adequate parking out front, and if things get busy, there's plenty of overflow in the adjacent Fred Meyer lot. The restaurant is in the middle of the strip mall just north of Fred Meyer. My spouse ordered the Avocado Tostada, which was generously sized and clearly delicious--he ate more than usual. It came with rice and refried beans, both well prepared. I used to order the Cheese/Onion Enchilada plate, which includes two enchiladas plus rice and beans, and I'd always end up taking half home (never quite the same reheated). Since my appetite is smaller, I now ask for just one cheese/onion enchilada on its own. The staff never blinks at the request, and my husband happily shares a bit of his refried beans with me. My meal was perfection. Definitely worth checking out. It's not the most extraordinary Mexican food in the area, but it's always very good--better than we can make at home--and that's why we keep coming back.

Food came fast, hot waiter.. oh yes! I'll be back, place is clean and colorful. I always enjoy my…read moretime there.
