In talking with the gentleman at the front counter, it sounds like they've been here for the better part of a decade. It's located on the back half of the Chevron station on 16th Ave. and in the tradition of great gas station restaurants, they are serving up some amazing cuisine in a fairly grungy kitchen. That i'll translates into some of the better Mexican food I found in the area. And Papa loves his Mexican food! Perhaps the thing that sets them apart from any of the other delicious Mexican restaurants is the fact that they have a number of extra meat offerings for the tacos. The standard chicken, pork and beef offerings are available, however they have some additional ones including pork skin, stomach - sort of like tripe, as well as a couple renditions of beef and pork that I haven't seen. End of the day, everything was absolutely delicious. The sopes come 3 in order, are enough to feed two people pretty easily and are absolutely boss! The fixins tray includes the standard onions, cilantro and jalapeños as well as some really good salsa options. These guys are doing it absolutely awesomely! To boot, they serve breakfast and apparently make a really good breakfast burrito. Going to have to bring the better half and the kiddos by to make sure it's as good as everything else, though I expect it will be.
