Visited for a day party on Sunday evening. The space is very large and plenty of tvs. After my group and I took a seat our bottle girl was the most friendliest and helpful. The pizza was a little soggy. The French fries were hit and delicious. The drinks were just ok I'm not sure if they were pre made but they weren't well balanced. We ordered for drinks: cosmopolitan, Prosecco with chambord, lemon drop martinis all were a C+ Again our bottle girl made up for it, she was a pleasure and would surely come back for her.

Great aesthetics with music, drinks, and food. Drinks: pour correct and delicious specialty cocktails. Food: above par for a bar or club. Service: 4 stars

To say that Scorpion Bar had a confusing vibe would be huge understatement. We walked right in on a Friday evening, before the rush. The interior was spacious, and mostly empty, with dim/red lighting. Despite the lack of patrons, the DJ had the music up SO loud, we had to scream over it. They also had sports playing on the TVs, which really didn't make sense with the clubby atmosphere. The few patrons also lacked consistency - some were dressed super casual, some in sundresses, some in clubbing attire. I got a Margarita at the bar, which was actually pretty good - strong, not too sweet. We stuck around for about an hour and by the time we were leaving, a massive line had formed outside, mostly a young crowd in their early 20s. Overall, not terrible, but probably wouldn't return!

We stopped in for a few drinks before a show at the neighboring venue. It was not overflowing by any means at around 11:30pm on a Tuesday but there was a sparse crowd. The bouncer and another security member were friendly, welcoming, and directed us where to go so that we didn't have to wander aimlessly like idiots. Fortunately, as we approached the bar, a group of judgy, clearly insecure girls who looked us up and down decided to either leave or go to the bathroom, giving us some bar real estate to place our order. The bartender for that section immediately gave us attention and was also welcoming and friendly. We both ordered a spicy margarita which was tasty and enjoyable. There are numerous large TV screens broadcasting sportz and very loud blaring music. This is a solid place to grab a late night drink.

We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.

I had been craving fish tacos for a really long time, and I was delighted to find a whole section of the menu dedicated to them. We started off with margaritas - one of the best companions to fish tacos - and I ordered mine spicy with jalapeño. For food, we shared the lobster empanadas and chorizo and potato taquitos. I ordered the tempura fish tacos for myself. Our margaritas were brought out shortly - mine was refreshing but lacked the kick from the jalapeño that I was hoping for (there was only one thin slice of pepper). Our food was brought out shortly, and I found it a bit overwhelming when our appetizers and tacos came out together. I started with my tacos, and these were excellent. The fish was flaky and fried to perfection, and I loved the rainbow of sauces and toppings. Plus, the tortillas were nice and sturdy and didn't tear. The lobster empanadas were super decadent, and I appreciated the substantial amount of lobster stuffed inside. I was too full to eat much of the taquitos but took a few bites. These also had good flavor but weren't standouts. Next time, I'd just get the tacos and maybe a light app. Towards the end of our visit, the restaurant seemed to clear out, and we had a difficult time trying to locate our server for the bill. Overall, we had a nice meal and satisfied the fish taco craving.

It is a cute spot, but just a heads up that the entrance is a little hard to find- I thought I had walked in through the back door. The restaurant is actually located in the public alley, not directly on Gloucester Street. The food was really good. I am obsessed with their rice and beans. Everyone seemed to love what they ordered! However, Im taking away two stars because of our service and our waitress. When we sat down, she casually asked, "Can I get you started with chips and guac?" At pretty much every Mexican restaurant I have ever been to, that phrasing implies it is complimentary. At no point did she mention that the guac was an added charge. We later found out we were charged $16 per guac, yes because she brought over TWO (!!) which totaled over $30, which felt really misleading. If something is meant to be an appetizer you are paying for, I expect it to be framed as, "Would you like to order any appetizers?" not presented as a default and free starter. That part left a sour taste in my mouth. I would consider coming back for the food, but I would be much more cautious ordering anything they recommend.

We visited the location near Samuel Adams Brewery, and the moment you step inside, you're practically face-to-face with the cashier. Locals stop in for a quick bite or grab their food to go, and workers come in, order, and are back out the door in no time. I ordered a carne asada taco and a veggie taco. The carne asada was flavorful, but the veggie taco completely exceeded my expectations. Instead of the usual peppers and onions, it was loaded with fresh corn, eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower, and a mix of peppers that added great flavor and texture. It was colorful, fresh, and filling without feeling heavy. The real standout, though, was their homemade habanero salsa. It packed incredible flavor with a serious kick. I could still feel the heat lingering on my tongue long after I finished eating. I loved every second of it.
