The seating area is behind where you order coffee--looks like it's a bar in the evenings. They also have a great breakfast selection. I was hoping to try one of the breakfast sandwiches, but had to opt for a pastry because service was so slow. I ordered my go-to basic drip coffee with cream. It was perfect! Definitely the morning pick me up I needed. Since I wasn't able to get a hardier breakfast, I opted for a donut. The cake donut was definitely yummy! While there were three people working behind the counter, I had to wait about 10 minutes to even order. One staff member was making drinks, another making food, and the third was making signs. I'm sure the signs were important, but so are customers who are standing in front of you. Bottom line, I will give Uptown another shot when I'm back in the area because the coffee was that good and the sandwiches being made looked and smelled delicious.

I visited my sister in the neighborhood and was overjoyed when I realized that Kismet was essentially sitting on top of what I must assume is a well that pumps the matcha from matcha heaven. There is also a drive thru that I've never taken advantage of (I like to walk inside whenever possible). Its a good product. If you like quality, artisan baked goods (nothing against the glazed donut/cream filled donut crowd) this is the place to go in Marion. The folks behind the counter were super friendly and made us feel good about stopping by. Finding it threw me for a second, though. They are in a house in what looks like a normal housing neighborhood. The sign is under the eaves and it's set back front the sidewalk under a nice shade tree. If you don't see it at first, look again. You'll be glad you did.
