The first time I got and iced latte with their regular milk (I'm assuming whole milk). It tore my stomach up!!! The second time I went, I got the same latte but opted for Almond milk instead. Why did it also mess my stomach up?!! It's so upsetting to me, because I love the vibe of this place and the way that the coffee tastes, but unfortunately, my lactose intolerance hates Summer Moon. I don't have this problem with Starbucks, 151, Dutch Bros, or Paris Baguette. It's so disapointing, because I'm a sweet cream iced latte kind of girl, but I think it's a wrap for me.

The bag I bought was roasted within the week and it was very good coffee. They offer a variety of roasts in store and boast pour over. I prefer a pour over or chemex. When I requested one however the barista indicated they would prefer to offer me their brewed coffee instead. I asked how long ago it was brewed. They said an hour (ew). Also I had requested the dark roast and the brew was medium roast. I know better than to trouble an employee who does not want to work ha! So I took the brew. It was ok but not what In wanted. I hope Kona Reserve reads this and understands: while you have an adorable store and good coffee, if a coffee lover comes in and requests your hand prepared coffee when that is what you offer, consider giving it to them. You are a craft coffee culture. Otherwise it is a huge disappointment. Plenty of parking out front in the mall. Easy access on the highway right next to the gas station. When I walked in I immediately noticed him hacking and sniffing. I tried to ignore it, but when I sat to wait for my order, I watched him bend over and blow his nose onto the floor right behind the counter. Then BARE HANDED he wiped his nose and went on refilling all of the coffee grinders. Once that was done, he started making drinks, stopping periodically to wipe his nose bare handed or dig his knuckle into his nose right over the drinks he was making, all the while sniffing and hacking. I noticed some other patrons notice this behavior and start their own conversations about it as well. Not wanting to make a scene I grabbed my drinks and left throwing them away untouched. I hope there are cameras that the owner can check, if there are I was there from 8:45 to 9:15 on 10/18. Please go and review. The name on the drinks is lucas.

There's a nice seating area - you can usually find a spot to sit unless it's peak times on the weekend. They have a selection of pastries from local spots and some toast/sandwich offerings. I use their overtone beans at home (they also offer a cup of coffee with each purchase of a bag of beans), but when I'm in the shop I love getting a cortado, cold brew with cold foam, or lattes. They offer fun seasonal drinks - some of my recent favorites were blackberry rhubarb latte, pumpkin cream cold brew, & cherry mocha! You can also follow their instagram for occasional super-limited drinks like a "cup of dirt" dessert inspired cold brew they did for Halloween weekend. I highly recommend this spot for high quality cafe staples or fun seasonals!
