Don't feel like making your own coffee? Ready to take a long drive? Stop by here scooters. I have a favorite place to go (Dutch Bro) but so far Scooters been pretty quick with their drinks. We always get the caramelicious iced. Or if it's super early in the morning we'll get it hot. Scooters offer breakfast and some awesome sweets. The staff here is pretty awesome!

One of new Scooter's Drive Thru Coffee shops that have been being built throughout the greater Kansas City metro. This one is a little tough to get to. Although it is right off Rice Road, there is only one approach, that is also the exit. The first time I tried to go here I missed the entrance. Today was my second visit. As for Coffee, Scooter's is always a good solid choice. The iced latte, I had today had a good strong espresso flavor that was not overwhelmed by the milk. A lovely treat on an October afternoon and 82 degrees. And of course there is the Courage Cookie. A lovely sweet to accent the espresso in the latte. Scooter's has a great phone app, and it doesn't take long to earn free coffee drinks and other treats. My batista today was lovely and I will be back to this Scooter's.

Caramelicious blender with an extra shot of espresso! (It was pretty before I started drinking it)

Good coffee and pleasant happy employees. My only regret is they are out of the sugar cookies my wife likes.

Whistle Stop Coffee Shop is a fantastic coffee shop on Main Street in Lee's Summit…read more I met a friend there this morning for coffee, but I was able to order a French Vanilla pour over. The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. Special shout out to the staff, who were magnificent.

I really wanted to like this place. I've lived in LS since 2008 and hadn't gotten around to this…read moreplace. And I'd heard good things. So I'll start with the good: - charm. It's a pretty downtown location. The decor is cozy and nicely decked out for Christmas. - chairs. They spent a little extra on padded leather to save our butts. - service. They're quick and polite. - cleanliness. Now for the less good: - layout. Everything feels tight. It's prettier than it is practical. - drink quality. My daughter found her spiced chai (pictured) overly sweet. And if you look at the pic, you'll notice that they gave her basically 2/3 of a cup. That pic was taken before she took a single sip (yes, I know the straw I used to show the amount looks used; I did use it to search for a tea bag in my tea fog. See below!). My cinnamon/butterscotch tea fog was, to put it politely, unimpressive. I left it steeping at least 15 minutes because it was way too hot to drink. And then I had to get a straw to search for tea bags, because it tasted like hot foamy water and I was convinced they'd forgotten to put the tea bags in. Well, they hadn't. There was one tea bag. My standard of comparison is Gusto over by Longview, which makes the best tea fogs in town. They use two tea bags and it tastes like heaven. Whatever they served me at Whistle Stop tasted like perfumed water. So overall, I give it a 3/5. Points for location and decor and nice chairs. But the main attraction should be the drinks, and they were both kinda terrible. And there's just no excuse for serving someone 2/3 of a cup when we're paying $6 for a small drink.

It's been three consecutive times that I've came and the brew has been on the disappointing week side. If I got something else like a chai, it's been a little on the lackluster side too. They used to have some awesome baristas, and I haven't seen this one barista who made sure things ran smoothly. Yesterday, I noticed customer service really lacking. When I arrived at 11:30 AM the three baristas were all up front and had been attentive, but around 1 PM they had all drifted in back and none would pop their head out to see if anyone had come to the counter. I had stood at the counter for five minutes or so, and had thought I had made eye contact with one girl, but apparently she must have not seen me. I even said "hello" out loud, but nothing. A minute or two later a lady came in and was waiting behind me, and after a minute or two she asked if I had been waiting long. I told her the truth, and eventually a barista came out and asked me if I had been waiting long? I explained that I had, and had tried to catch someone's attention. I ordered an iced matcha and the lady behind me ordered some other drink. Guess who's came out first? I waited a few more minutes and noticed the another barista (a guy) had just started making an iced match, which apparently was my drink. Where were the girls? In the back, chatting away and giggling. I guess neither of them knew how to make an iced matcha.
