Great coffee, friendly service as always! I also got a piece of their coffee cake and a breakfast burrito and they were both so good. Looking forward to trying this again next time I'm in town!

The seating area is behind where you order coffee--looks like it's a bar in the evenings. They also have a great breakfast selection. I was hoping to try one of the breakfast sandwiches, but had to opt for a pastry because service was so slow. I ordered my go-to basic drip coffee with cream. It was perfect! Definitely the morning pick me up I needed. Since I wasn't able to get a hardier breakfast, I opted for a donut. The cake donut was definitely yummy! While there were three people working behind the counter, I had to wait about 10 minutes to even order. One staff member was making drinks, another making food, and the third was making signs. I'm sure the signs were important, but so are customers who are standing in front of you. Bottom line, I will give Uptown another shot when I'm back in the area because the coffee was that good and the sandwiches being made looked and smelled delicious.

In Iowa I usually get overheated milk, espresso that was roasted 2 steps beyond French roast, with a nice dirt and tar aftertaste. Dunn Brothers did it right! Perfect milk temperature. I mean perfect. Possibly the best I've ever had, and I've had coffee in some of the best shops in America. The espresso was spectacularly roasted, not burned in the espresso machine, and came out exactly like I hope for when I dream of coffee. And trust me, I dream about coffee. The staff was friendly, store was clean and well kept, all the customers were happy. Overall this place just oozes happiness, which we could all use some more of these days. These guys love what they do and it show, in the store, the coffee, their attitude, and all through the experience. I can't wait to come back and test more of the menu. And let's be honest I'm going to destroy a pistachio muffin the next time I'm here, Would give 6 stars if possible, best latte I've had in years.

I loved the inside art, merchandise and they had a cool reusable cups for purchase (coozies with a glass jar) that I think allowed for lots of free coffee. The employee clearly saw me but chose to continue socializing with a friend instead of helping a paying customer. During that time, another customer walked in and was ignored as well. Only after the friend left did the employee begin working, but instead of taking my order, he started making a smoothie while continuing to ignore both of us. After waiting long enough, I finally spoke up and asked if someone could help me. Rather than apologizing, the response was essentially that they hadn't helped me because I "didn't ask." Customers shouldn't have to interrupt employees to receive basic service. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made all the difference. Based on this experience, I won't be returning. Customer service reflects a business's culture, and this experience left a very negative impression. I hope management takes customer service more seriously so others don't have the same experience.
