Second burger spot on my unofficial burger tour - Scooters. To get straight to it. The burger and the fries delivered. Let's start with the Double, bacon cheeseburger. If they have something like this. I have to get it. The burger was loaded with the usual suspects - lettuce, pickle, tomato all on a seeded bun which is a nice touch. The patties seemed to be a bit larger than the usual size or perhaps because it was doubled. The charbroiled flavor was definitely there, and the toppings did there thing. All present in each bite. I found the "sauce", sometimes "secret sauce" which as many of these burgers' spots tout - is a sort of mayo-based sauce. It was kind of liquidy, compared to say Lil Woody's from my first tour. So, I had to fall back on ketchup from home. I ordered a cup of "Scooter sauce for the fries". One among about 8 or so different sauces you can get for an additional 0.35 per cup. I wasn't impressed with this either - it is again a mayo-based sauce with relish in it. I found it to be too mayo-ie. The fries were great. Nice sized, and very crispy. A small order will do. Beyond the food which is pretty good with some eh regarding the sauces, the place is similar to 'Dicks' in its present form. You walk up order, take out and eat. Staff was friendly enough. They'll call your number when it's ready. There are some tables with benches, but I took mine to go. Prices are a bit on the higher side. for example, $3+ and up starting for a small drink. The actual place has an old school look, but beyond that isn't much to look at. So, the verdict is its pretty good. Definitely worth trying if you're into a good ol' burger. I'd go back to see if despite some nips, it still shines through.

Doesn't look like much when you walk by, but this burger spot is not to be missed when in Ballard! They even have some awards for best burger in seattle back in the day. Well, its great that its so close by to me! They have some picnic tables outside in the parking lot but it definitely has a grab and go kind of vibe. Even the inside isn't much to look at. However, the staff are very friendly! They are happy to answer any questions about the food. I ended up trying the guacamole burger. It was perfectly cooked and moist inside and comes with some special chipotle mayo sauce too. I also really liked the fries here! They are perfectly crispy! Looking forward to another visit here one day!

$17 for a cheeseburger and a handful of fries. Beef is uncooked no mustard no ketchup just mayo. Fries were good

Their fries is no longer the best fries in seattle.. no longer worth $8. As the other reviews mentioned, they might change the owner or major transition? We are not sure but it is really sad. Please bring back the best fries in town :(

Poor guy taking orders was super overwhelmed and there was no line. His coworker kindly stepped in to assist. Cheeseburger meal and it was solid. What you would expect definitely. Won't be back but got my itch scratched for that summertime burger.

There's actually a hidden backyard seating area that's dog friendly. Owner was super friendly and went around asking about everyone's experiences. The Mean: Corned beef was not the most tender (I'm still partial to Dingfelder's), but it's well seasoned. Mint with mustard is a combination I never would have guessed would work, but the sharpness complemented each other nicely. Red cabbage had a nice tang and the soft bun for the contrast of texture. The Steak Tartare Club: Steak tartare surprisingly mild, almost feels more like a BLT with a background of slight beefy squishy texture (but in a good way!). The yuzu kosho was not too spicy and the rye bread toasted to a crisp added a good bit of crunch and almost nutty flavor. Will be back for the Hama Hama Oyster Po'Boy.

While other Serious Pie locations tend to be semi-upscale-yet-casual pizza joints, this spot felt more like an afterthought with its small, dark space and decidedly hole-in-the-wall vibe. The good news is, the pizza was still delish, as it always is at Serious Pie. We enjoyed the sweet sausage pizza that has become a fave over the years, along with a couple of beers which were served in plastic pint "glasses". Okay, I'm sure this makes me sound like a beer snob, but plastic?! Good beer just doesn't taste good in plastic. (Unless you're at a frat party?) Our server (who, by the way, was excellent) later told us he'd accidentally used the wrong glasses for the beer; so apparently it's something they're fixing. Yay! It was also darn cold inside. We had to keep our coats on the entire time. A door between the restaurant area and the semi-open entrance to what appears to be their central storage area would most likely help. Again, this all probably seems a bit petty. I'll own that. But as someone who loves Tom Douglas and his restaurants, and has had great experiences at other Serious Pie locations, this one was a disappointment. Especially since they're charging the same (some might say elevated) prices as they do at the other locations. Maybe if they called it something else, to differentiate it? Serious Pie Lite? Semi-Serious Pie? I dunno, but I expected just a little bit better from this iconic local brand.

I'm SO glad Other Coast proved me wrong. And I was blown away by what we got. For starters, I asked for a reco. The person behind the counter said the Michael King was super popular among veggies and vegans alike. I'm aways more likely to choose something I wouldn't make at home, and the dry rubbed tofu, roasted yams, and vegan cardamom-lime sauce fit right into that category. We paid, nabbed a table out front, and our names were soon called. Holy heck, those first few bites were just spectacular. What an interesting flavor combo! My only regret is that pickled onions weren't an option -- they would've added a great umami. My total came to just over $16 with tax and tip. We'll be back!

Both sandwiches were delicious and very filling. The spot itself is really small and not flashy at all. There are only a few bar seating chairs inside, and then 4 or 5 tables in their outdoor, on street seating area. We came at an odd time, around 3:30pm, so there was no line and a few open tables, but I am assuming this place gets real busy around peak lunch so would take that into consideration if you are looking to go sit and eat somewhere versus takeout. The staff was friendly and it did not take too long for our sandwiches to come out. The sandwiches were super fresh and the flavors were really good. I appreciated that the baguette was not too crispy (like cut the top of your mouth crispy) while still be well toasted.
