I went into a store looking for a specific paint color the model company suggested I use. After not seeing the color, I ask the person behind the counter if that was all they had. It was. Asked the employee which of these colors was closest to matching the color I was looking for. His response, "How would I know?" I turned around to place the paint back on the shelves and return the models I had select for purchase and the employee commented to the other person in the store, "Can you believe this guy. He's looking for a specific paint for a MODEL?" I strongly recommend going anywhere else for your hobby needs. read more

TERRIBLE, unfriendly service. Maybe it was just a bad day? The entry hall smells like an old folks' home, and the shop itself is dusty enough to BE an old folks' home. Beyond that, things start to go downhill. Honestly, they have an indoor race track on the floor, which is REALLY cool. If you want to meet racing friends, this might be a good place. The carpet has continuous black marks around the circuit of the track from probably thousands of races. We went in to pick something up and a young man was ripping his car around it - luckily, that was great to watch since we were completely unable to find somebody to actually help us (because, the guy who was standing behind the counter refused to). We left empty handed, after about ten minutes of waiting. Kind of BS. Hopefully they can clean up their act, since it's a local business. Better to buy from a family shop than from a big chain store. read more

I haven't been into rc for awhile and got my kid a Traxxas Rustler 2wd basic model and decided to try a brushless for myself (lots to learn if you're new to it) and got the Arrma Typhon 3s. Great buggy and the few times I needed parts they had them in stock. George is always nice, quiet, but nice. He will be honest and let you know if you really need something or not (I've never had him try to sell me something I didn't need) And when you ask a question he will answer it but if he doesn't know he won't bs you. He mainly carries Traxxas and Arrma rc vehicles and parts. He has some old school models to build if you're into that. Also, he has a nice selection of bodies and stock and upgrade parts (tires, driveshafts, etc.) for the rc trucks and cars he sells. If you need a part for something you broke it's easier if you have the part number but if you don't he can look it up. I strongly recommend his store. The most important part of this review is he is the ONLY local store that carries most of the Traxxas and Arrma rtr's made and has the parts available in store. I've broke a driveshaft, shock, lost a bearing and a few other things and he had them eating when I called ahead. Thank you George! read more

I read the previous review and i have a different perspective. the hallway smells different like the smell of old books or cardboard or a kids toy train set. They sell things for model trains close to the entryway so i'm not suprised. as far as it being dusty well it might be a little dusty, however its a model shop not a restaurant and i think it gives the store a very underground quality. I did see a large room which was unoccupied when i went in and im assuming that was the track. Didn't take a look in there because i was there to sell my RC cars and not get into it. It took a little while for someone to help me, but that was because they were very busy helping other people. I waited patiently for about 10-15 minutes and then the store owner (while still helping another customer) greeted me and said he would be right with me. Once he was finished with the previous customer he came up to me and we discussed business. I had never met him but his name was George and he said he owned the store. He seemed very laid back and was very matter of fact. He wasn't trying to sell me anything which i liked. He was just trying to help me get what i wanted and cut through all the BS of a normal salesperson which i personally appreciated. He showed me some products gave me a brief overview, offered me (what i considered to be more than a fair trade in value for my RC cars) and told me to think about what he has in the store do some research and get back to him next week. Overall i would give it a 5/5 stars for three main reasons. 1) They are one of the few stores left in this type of business that will do anything with used goods, and thats very good for people like me who did things on a whim and then don't have a use for them anymore. They are like a play it again sports hobby store and i love it. 2) They weren't trying to sell me anything. 3) They were very knowledgable when talking about with all of the products they showed me. Would recommend to anyone interested in R/C Cars, Drones, models, microscopes, or general hobby kits ( i saw some paint by numbers and other random model/art kits). Neat store. read more

I've never been terribly impressed by the store. Mediocre stock and the customer service always seemed more interested in the RC side of the business; particularly the races that go on with RC cars. But what really annoys me is their cavalier attitude towards their hours. They advertise opening at 11:00 AM, even Sundays. I showed up at 11:20 this morning because I needed some supplies, particularly some paints. They weren't open yet. Did some other errands and came back at 11:50; still not open. I think that pretty much sums it up. And then the neighborhood hobby shops sit around and wonder why they are being put out of business by e-Commerce!!!!!! read more
