What a mistake going to Dutchess Optometry in Poughkeepsie! Through the years, I've chosen to drive to the Red Hook office where they are wonderful, amazing and professional (the only reason for any stars). Christine is awesome! Because of you, Emily, Dutchess Optometry will not see anyone in my family and I will make it my business to share my experiences with everyone I know. The doctors are very good there but the some of the the front desk people (your Poughkeepsie office) need to go get jobs at a prison. Here's what happened, this time: I ordered colored contacts. Dr. Lappin told me the brand that has them in colors, she read me the list of colors, I chose my color. They ended ordering them in clear, they try to act like the mistake is my fault and expect me to eat the entire cost. In an uncaring manner, it was conveyed that they weren't going to make it right, I told Emily that I don't want the wrong order and to send me my scripts and she obliged. Next the clinical nurse Victoria, could not have been more profesional and efficient. Last but not least Dr Andreas Wolter, I just love the guy. Great doctor, took time to explain how I am doing , a follow up, after my cataract surgery of 3 years ago. The waiting rooms are all clean and confortable, lots of space all around. Not only had my vision regressed from my great results, but I developed cataracts. Dr. Modi told me the light adjustable lens was the only way to get me back to my original great results. Although it is a process, the results could not be better. I never anticipated the quality of vision this implant gave me! I was fine with just getting the cataracts resolved never expecting the wonderful acuity Dr. Modi gave me with this amazing adjustable lens! Despite being busied with phone calls at the front desk, staff were very kind, and the optician herself came out to help myself and others waiting. She was so sweet!! Switched out my nose pad in less than a minute and offered to tune up the frame as well since the arms were loose. I wish I'd shown a bit more gratitude in person as that was an absolute life saver since I'm dealing with finals right now, making working glasses pretty important! Howeverrrr, I'm also very sick and low on energy at the moment so I don't think I showed half the appreciation I'd meant to. Hoping this review makes up for that! They go above and beyond ensuring excellence. Recently, Connie actually consulted with a local jeweler to ensure my glasses were properly fixed. There is a new optometrist who supplements Dr. Descovich's busy workload. He is also excellent and used a process to clean the bases of my eyelashes and I no longer have burning itchy eyes in the evening. I *think* it was called Zest but not 100% positive. Just ask...you'll be very pleased. I will have this done on an annual basis I believe. They can actually check to assess the extent to which this issue is problematic and the procedure only takes about ten minutes. So worth it to have eyes that aren't burning and itchy! I hope you take the time to visit this shop as they have some rather unique frames for sale as well.
