This company scams other companies by requesting quotes, weights, and detailed information via email. They draw out a long ongoing quoting process, and after they verbally commit to your service they ask you to schedule freight through their 'preferred freight service' on behalf of them with ultimately no intention of paying you back. Do not fall for this scam.

PART 1 of 2 - We have had a very, very complex move between USA-CAN-UK. We booked SCL for our US-UK move on December 22nd and there was a massive snowstorm set to hit the East Coast that day that completely halted all travel and caused the border to be shut down. Chris L worked super fast to switch our packing date to a day earlier which was above & beyond, and greatly appreciated so we could safely drive our UHaul back to Canada (home country) while we awaited our UK visas. On December 21st, Stefan and his SCL crew arrived on time and were very professional, courteous, and considerate of packing our household belongings. The little things like the crew wearing SCL uniforms, their friendliness, and superb packaging didn't go unnoticed. Super fast too! Very impressed and reassured our belongings were handled with care. We originally dealt with Chris L for understanding the shipping process and obtaining a quote. He spent over 2-hours (2 separate phone calls) to answer our questions and walk through what to expect. Very patient! He also understood the challenges we had with obtaining a UK visa due to the UK prioritizing Ukraine visas and agreed to let us store our belongings a little longer given the Covid delays and unpredictability across the globe. Again, above & beyond. That is very, very rare these days in business and in general when everyone seems to be nickel and diming. We never, ever felt this way with Chris. We felt like we could trust him and really appreciated his direct approach and time. Our quote was reasonably assessed. We paid approximately $1600 more than originally quoted since we opted in to full insurance coverage and also had 100 extra cubic feet than originally thought. The price was laid out to us clearly beforehand. I highly recommend reading every single detail of the information that SCL emails you and spending time on their website. Some people on these reviews complain heavily about extra costs, but we always felt there was transparency and had a quick, satisfactory response about our shipment size - we also know some boxes of ours were awkward sizes (e.g., mattress, dresser) and may take up more space on a pallet. We have since been transferred to Thibaut regarding our shipment and he has been very responsive to our inquiries and very friendly. He calls back or emails right away and we have never felt ignored or ghosted as many people have reported about this company. This has not been our experience at all and we actually feel very supported and cared for by SCL given we have never done this before and it is such an overwhelming process. Of course we have a lot of questions and Thibaut and Chris have always answered them and been super kind to us and patient. I've never felt like an inconvenience with my questions and that goes such a long way for such a big and complex move. Given the global reach and amount of shipping this company does, it is unrealistic to expect in-the-moment answers, so patience does go a long way as a customer. The only rude person I came across was the receptionist that picked up the phone who said she was at the LA location. She spoke in a very rude, unnecessary condescending tone before I could even get my question out. I didn't take it personally though since I am not a rude person, and perhaps she was having an off day as many of us are these days. Naturally we are a bit nervous and anxious about when we will see our belongings again and what extra fees or delays we may incur based on the reviews. I will provide PART 2 of my review upon arrival of and inspection of my belongings after unpacked when in the UK. So far, we are very happy with the service and respect we have received from Chris, Thibaut, and Stefan. Great guys! I hope it continues! Thank you very much! read more

Absolute nightmare experience. Avoid the Los Angeles branch at all costs! I was originally quoted $5,630 to ship two cars in a single container from Arizona to Germany, starting December 19th. The plan was to route them through Houston, Texas. Instead, without my permission, Schumacher shipped them to Los Angeles. When I demanded answers, they claimed a salvage title meant the car couldn't ship from Texas--a claim I highly doubt. This unauthorized rerouting caused massive delays and endless hidden fees. While in LA, they held my cars hostage until I paid an unexpected $7,765 for an "extra customs checkup." It took over five full months just to get the cars to Europe. Once in Germany, Schumacher tacked on another surprise fee of $3,931.40 just to release the vehicles, completely ignoring their original quote of around $520 per car. To make matters worse, their German destination partner, SATS Group GmbH, was completely unprofessional, clueless, and a nightmare to deal with. They tried to force an absurd, double-taxation customs scheme on me regarding my final delivery to Bulgaria. I paid triple what I was originally quoted, suffered through a 5+ month delay, and dealt with shocking unprofessionalism. I will never use Schumacher Cargo Logistics again, especially the Los Angeles branch. Be warned! read more

The initial contact with Daniel Cassidy was very pleasant, and we completed a virtual walkthrough of our entire house that covered every room, closet, cupboard, and drawer. Despite this, the movers arrived without the appropriate packing materials, and their packing strategy proved incoherent, as we later discovered. For example, they meticulously wrapped a box of tissues (!) and other random items in craft paper, yet stacked several paintings together in a box with no protective padding whatsoever. After many weeks of delay with little to no communication from the French team, our belongings finally arrived at our new home ten weeks after leaving our house (the estimate we were given was four to six weeks). Furniture was scratched or damaged, lamps were broken, and although the moving-in team unpacked most of our items, they were unable to locate the hardware (packed but not labeled by the movers) needed to reassemble our desk and bed--so they simply left contrary to provisions in the contract. When we contacted Schumacher Cargo to report that they had not fulfilled their contract, they stopped responding entirely. We have not heard from them since. Needless to say, we never received a customer satisfaction survey either. read more
I had really taken my time in choosing a moving company for my international move, comparing companies and reading endless reviews, and all the way across the board it seems people have generally had the most positive experiences with Schumacher. I can personally attest to a positive experience with my move from Los Angeles, CA to Italy. Nathan was a wonderful help on the US side. Incredibly communicative and attentive. The Schumacher team is also the only one of all of the companies I inquired with that came to do an in person survey. I felt they were very informative about the process and transparent, answering all of my questions and really making sure I felt confident. The team that came out and packed up our things were nothing short of professional. We had been given a general timeline on when to expect our things and had regular contact and updates as our things were set to arrive and go through customs here in Italy. The whole process was incredibly smooth. They provided me with realistic expectations all the way through, and especially with any possible end-of-journey costs that could come up so I was able to be prepared. Everything arrived safe and sound, with no damage and nothing broken. The team who delivered our things worked quickly and had everything delivered to our home by early afternoon! If life every takes me overseas again I will absolutely be turning back to Schumacher after this positive experience! read more

I moved my apartment from Manhattan to Paris with zero complaints at a price that was much lower than two other quotes I received. And in fact the price even fell more as move out time approached and we realized I did not need as much pre-packing materials nor the crating for fine art objects I was shipping. My paintings, glass sculptures, clothes, kitchen equipment, rare books, bicycle and few items of furniture all arrived in perfect condition. The office team was extremely knowledgeable and the packers who arrived were extremely efficient and respectful of everything being packed, and worked in a atmosphere of good humor. Cannot imagine a better experience. The shipping took a bit longer than anticipated but the reason was waiting for the rest of the container to be filled by other clients before a shipping date was fixed, that is really nothing they can control. On the France side, customs paperwork clearance and the delivery staff were also very efficiently done. I would not hesitate to use this company again! read more

Like most of the reviews of this company the final cost was nothing like the original quote. They also failed to load several items and when I told them they offered no explanation or compensation. I would not recommend them for international moving. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, we moved from the US to Italy everything was fine at the beginning they were very helpful but they really deceived us. First they came to pick up our whole house shipment with a half full truck when we were going to need a container for the shipment, they did not send us another truck so because we were very short of time with the deadline for moving we had to leave stuff behind and then take some more things with our car to the warehouse. They had promised us the shipment would take in total 2-2.5 months so we came to Italy with our summer clothes only knowing we would get our things in 2 months. After 2 months we were told it hadn't even shipped or left the warehouse, when I asked repeteadly and demanded an answer they kept making excuses and didn't ship until almost 4 months from the time they picked up our things at our house. We actually received our things after 5 months!!!! and we had to spend so much extra money buying things we needed because we didn't have our things like essential things to cook, clean, winter clothes etc just because they lied to us about the shipping times. On top of that when we started opening they boxes everything had been changed and moved around so much time had elapsed that we couldn't remember every single item we had shipped plus they had moved things from boxes to other boxes. After realizing that things were missing which probably it's more than we can remember they told us the insurance we paid would not cover it because it had a $1000 deductible and of course we were not told that. So they scammed us with the timing, with losing some of our things with not being able to take more things because they brought a truck that was half full and they didn't even have the decency to cover our loses. This is the worst experience I have ever had, I wish I would have read more reviews. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

DO NOT USE. I moved from Boston to the United Kingdom, and my experience with Schumacher Cargo Logistics on the UK end has been appalling. Everything initially went normally, with the shipment packed and taken to the storage warehouse. After that, it took from May to mid-July to ship the items, with my items only arriving at my apartment on the 22nd August. Somehow, one of my boxes mysteriously disappeared during that time. I took out insurance, which is helpful, but as it turns out, my claim is worthless because the movers on the UK end didn't unpack my items, and I was NOT informed that this would impact my claim. Furthermore, my correspondence and dealings with the company have been terrible, with excuses for the missing box such as "it happens" or "mislabelling". I challenged them and asked to check the CCTV, as I was confused by the fact that all my other boxes (1-21) arrived labelled, but Box 13 went missing. How could a box that has been clearly labelled alongside the others at the warehouse go "missing"? They claimed that my possessions wouldn't be worth enough for someone to lose their job over (which is fair, but also unhelpful and who knows, if that's true...then where did my box go??). I have now been fighting to receive my insurance claim finances back from Schumacher, which is a nightmare. Don't bother with this company. I should have conducted proper due diligence; my goodness, they have bad reviews, and the customers pay the price. read more

Terrible Company to work with and if there were a ZERO star rating, they'd deserve it. I normally read reviews before making a decision but was caught up in the expectation this company could collect our personal possessions from our US home and ship them to our new home in less than 12 weeks. The time frame promised by Schumacher helped determine what items we would ship and influenced our decision not to 'fly' them over. Shipping overland saved us $2,000 ... which we eventually had to spend on clothing and other items as we waited and waited and waited for our items. In short, we saved no money! I have since read the reviews and the majority are terrible (with the exception of Schumacher's own web site ... what a surprise). I would not recommend Schumacher Cargo for personal shipping. Just don't do it. Look elsewhere, consider the reviews and spend more money if you have too. It took 6 months for our personal items to be shipped from the US to New Zealand. The sales person basically lied to us from the get-go and even told us that if we could have everything ready in less than a week that it could be quicker. When I checked in after hearing nothing for 9 weeks I was told that our items were still in the US. The communication was non existent. If I did not ask for updates I would not receive any information or updates. On a positive note, the local delivery company and team in New Zealand were fantastic. They were proactive with their communications and kept us updated. read more

Danger Will Robinson Danger....This moving company is definitely bad business. The initial quote was fubar. They failed to conduct a proper survey beforehand and waited until their team lead wrote up the inventory sheet to 2.5x the price. Another reason, the other moving coordinator left my property on the ground for over two months before getting my property uploaded. Then proceeded to state that the documents were not available even when I had sent them an initial copy to review before uploading in their system. When my property finally arrived, this company broke the security seal on one of my crates (Not acceptable on no level). You have to inform/ request the owner of this activity. Finally, the warehouse manager stated that he will deliver my property on these dates. The SOB delivered my property after those dates he spoke about. In short, dealing with this moving company is like playing with fire. Get burned on all sides. read more

Do not use them - it has taken me 12 months to gather myself together to write this review since it hurts me so much emotionally. I moved from LA to Sydney. So many of my furniture pieces were damaged - not wrapped or very poorly wrapped and packed by them. Broken mirror, broken glass, slash marks through soft goods. Several boxes missing - but the one that hurst most are my keep sake boxes with my late grandmothers iconic fashion pieces gone. All my sentimental love notes and cards gone - collected over 40 years! My childhood tapes and videos of me performing....love letters and so much. It just breaks my heart. And they didn't even care when I asked them to double check on their end in case there was a lost and found area. My expensive Le Creuset cooking set and so much more. And I had to pay them to destroy my goods and lose my most prized possessions. They just brushed me off to the side. It's already a very very emotional journey moving countries and to lose so much....my childhood diarys, letters, cards from friends and family. I am so so sad. Hope this helps anyone considering using Schumacher. I shipped all this at the MOST expensive time as well....during the whole pandemic, so imagine I have spent $11,000 USD on half a container to be treated this way.....that hurts a lot.....A LOT..... read more

I used Schumacher to ship all my belongings living there 17 years and 108 paintings to the netherlands from NYC during the pandemic! Had a great experience with my clothes and items! Everything arrived in perfect condition. We particularly appreciated the clear and transparent sales process, and how easy Schumacher made interim storage while we figured out our next steps. The team in NYC did a fantastic job of packing and protecting our belongings (they made bespoke boxes for the larger pieces of furniture!). The company Schumacher partnered with at our destination was excellent as well - regular progress updates, and a friendly delivery team. read more

They arrived on time, very very professional, carefully wrapped items especially delicate items with multiple layers of foam paper/cardboard. Watching them wrap and pack my expensive 65" OLED TV gave me more confidence than I thought it would. From the negative reviews LOS ANGELES must outshine the other branches of Schumacher. They even kept me advised if I was nearing my 400sqm allotment and told me I could ship more items. Very customer service orientated. I would highly recommend them. read more

We have used schumaker twice in a move from Seattle to New Zealand. The first move went as well as could be expected in 2020, no items missing, no destroyed items, took 3 months but whatever. The second move was not so great. Communication was poor and people were very difficult to get a hold of. Essentially, our moving coordinator was never available by phone which is ok but gets really confusing and time consuming to have multiple emails that take over a day to get back to you. Then the bid was way off, we paid almost double what we had anticipated, some of that was on us for not consolidating. However, the worst part was that we are missing several boxes. As we were shipping our relatively worthless but precious to us items, (our kids favourite books, drawing from kindergarten, yearbooks, photos of dead relatives etc) we didn't get additional insurance. Sure enough, 2-3 boxes did not arrive. I am not even sure they looked for them. After no communication for several weeks someone finally got back to me with a canned email response, "You did not purchase insurance so we will not be helping you." If you do go with Schumaker get multiple bids from other companies and even if your items are not worth money I have a feeling they keep track of them if there is insurance on them. read more

If you want your things moved and then to be charged for items that you did not have moved, and harassed until you pay their made up invoices, then go with Schumacher! Schumacher moved our things, sent me the paperwork, I promptly paid the agreed invoice and I thought this was a good service. Later, out of the blue, they started harassing me with INCESSANT emails claiming that I now owed them a large sum of money and that if I didn't pay them, they'd send it to collections. As I clearly did not owe them money, and had promptly paid their initial invoice, I stood my ground. When I got a letter from a collections agency, I let them know that they had taken on a fraudulent case from Schumacher and they left me alone. Several months later, Schumacher is at it again. I assume that they get lots of suckers who don't look at their bills and just pay them whatever they demand to get them off their back and in fear that collections may affect their credit score. Schumacher do move your things, but they also scam you, mafia style, into paying them more than the original agreed cost of the shipping, AFTER they already shipped your things. They are very nice and friendly until that time. They will work with your overseas shipping partner in the same way. If you go with this company, expect to pay at least double what they originally quoted you, AFTER they ship your items and you've paid their original invoice, or accept being harassed until you pay them whatever they randomly demand. This company is run by fraudsters who tack on bogus charges to your shipping and then harass their customers until they give up and pay. BEWARE!!! I initially tried explaining to them that we'd already paid them, but they just keep demanding more and become very rude and pushy. Now, I just ignore their bully emails, after a couple of years, but they will still try unless you take legal action against them, which I have not had the time or energy to do. I have peace of mind knowing that I have done my part and paid them the original agreed price. It's much cheaper in the long run to sell your things in the other country and buy new ones in the new country you move to. I now know, from experience and from speaking with others, that these international shipping companies are all alike. If your items aren't broken when you get them, you will be harassed to pay them more than the agreed cost, after all their pleasantries. Don't be fooled! read more

If I could give this company a negative star review i would give them NEGATIVE 5 stars Worst people to deal with. Unprofessionals, liers and crooks. They gave us a "quote" only to find out AFTER we have already left the country that the cubic volume of our shipment was twice as much as it was quoted. As a result, we went from a $7500 dollars move to $14000. Their reasoning was that we must have hidden a room full of stuff that we did not show them during the survey !!! We had already left the country and we had no recourse. We were forced to pay the full amount otherwise they wouldn't have released our belongings. Once we received out stuff, two boxes were missing and some got damaged. Rugs had mold, a statue was disintegrated and so on. Even with an additional insurance for $1500 that they strongly suggest we would purchase, I found myself, 4 months after the move was completed, with nothing but radio silence on their part with the claim. They are just not replying to our emails and the claim is stuck on "We are now awaiting your shipment documentation from your mover" Moving is very stressing already as is but SCHUMACHER CARGO LOGISTICS, made it, probably, the WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE read more

This company cashed my check to them a month ago and I had to continually reach out to try to get a delivery date. I told them my available days and their response ignored those details and would send me an email late in the day offering delivery the next day with no time slot. I repeatedly told them they have to give more notice to working people and to set up an appointment for delivery ahead of time. No luck there. I finally said I'm going to get an attorney. One month of waiting for them to deliver is beyond ridiculous! Today their truck turned up at 9:15 am according to my cameras ( I was not notified by them that they would be there at that time) The delivery driver called me and we arranged for a later delivery today which is what I asked Ivan for at Schumacher. He has been rude and unhelpful to me. read more

I contracted and paid Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc. $5,835.00 to transport my Pontiac GTO from Baumholder, Germany, to Houston, Texas, during a military permanent change of station move. It was collected on May 15th,2024, and it arrived at the destination port/terminal in New York on July 5th, 2024. Despite this, it has still not been delivered to its final destination in Texas. The company representatives actively duck my calls/emails. The tracking information on the company's client portal shows that my GTO cleared customs on July 30th, 2024, and that it was delivered to their warehouse on July 31st, 2024. I received an invoice on July 30th, 2024, for Duty in the amount of $23.75 and Bond for the amount of $95.00. I promptly paid the invoice. I contacted the company after hearing nothing further, and inquired as to why my shipment continued to be delayed. I received an email on August 19th, 2024 from a company representative claiming "shipment has been unloaded at our warehouse but there are additional cost incur due to the hold I should have final amounts next couple days". I inquired again, and was told that the info would be provided "by the end of the week". This happened numerous times, without results. I then received an invoice on September 4th, 2024, for an administration fee of $75.00 and demurrage charges amounting to $1,245.75. These charges were issued 36 days after the shipment had cleared customs. I question why these fees were delayed for over a month, and also why the administration fee is $75.00 when the company's own website lists the applicable fee for a shared container shipment as $55.00. As of September 4th, 2024, 112 days have passed since the vehicle's collection. Given these issues, Schumacher Cargo Logistics has failed to provide the services promised in a timely and transparent manner. These delays and additional charges have caused significant frustration and financial burden, during an already expensive international move. read more

Life is too short to hire a company that is too busy for you Paid in full for my move from Ireland to USA end-January. Promised 16 weeks or less and it took almost 6 months (1/23/21-7/13/22). I was lied to by my contact as to the cargo ship's arrival for over a month. Pointed that out to him, since I knew about Ship Trackers and could see ship's arrival date and current location. After my contact parted ways with the company, I wasn't assigned to anyone else. I received and invoice for customs fees on April 27th and received an email stating paid in full on May 3rd. After that, they forgot about me and my 3 cubic meters of belonging in their NJ warehouse for a month and a half (April 27-June 8) until "I" started enquiring in June. Their customer service is abominable, and they're only doing email so you will hear from them at the end of the work day, if at all. When I finally did make contact, there was an acknowledgement of a technical glitch, but no desire to make things right or expedite the delivery. From that point, it was over a month until my belongings were delivered to me by two guys in a U-Haul who were too cheap to unlock the hand truck on the truck and used mine instead. The boxes were crushed and there were 4 incidences of breakage. 2 cases of wine that were to be crated were soaked, handed to me on their sides and 1 box had soaked 5 other boxes after 3 bottles ended up uncorked only 1 cork was present in the box. The next day I received an invoice for $350 for relay charges, since it was easier for the company to hire out the tail end of my delivery and charge me than to complete it themselves as contracted. FYI...$350 is their flat-rate relay charge and they will not tell you where the relay activity occurred. I've contacted and emailed with a manager and the VP of the company, and no one has bothered to respond on a telephone. I did get an email response from a manager stating an inaccurate timeline. After my replying with the accurate timeline and photos of the crushed boxes 10 days ago, I'm still waiting for a response from either Manager or VP. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. read more

This was my 8th International move around the globe and by far the smoothest. The packers were friendly, helpful and all wore masks (during Covid times in Miami). Apart from minor damages (which will always happen) all my household goods arrived in pretty good shape in Europe. I must admit: I hardly shipped furniture but lots of art, pictures, cristal and ceramics. Due to well given instructions about all documentation needed for import, the customs process here in Portugal also went smooth and without problems or further delays. I hired another company to make my move overseas in Europe and it was a total disaster. The original company dispatched to Schumacher which actually helped me in few critical occasions when I personally contacted them. However, it seems there is a lack of communication through the process among the various companies involved in the shipping process. Therefore, my shipment took 6 months instead of an estimate of 2 and added more expenses (I had to re-buy clothes and other items) without considering the stress of not knowing where the shipment was. Do not use this company. My daughter used them to move her belonging to England. She was told approx 4 - 6 weeks. She paid them thousands (I mean thousands!!!) of dollars and her stuff was packed on Dec 3. 8 + weeks later she still does not have any delivery confirmation. She was never told that her stuff would be held until there would be a full vessel. Apparently she was paying a group rate. She was never informed of any delays. It still needs to clear customs once it lands and then wait for another company to deliver. This has been a nightmare for her. Obviously, if she had known anything about waiting for a full vessel, she would have sent her stuff sooner. She has no recourse as she has already paid in full. Do not use! read more

Updating the Schumacher review... It has not gone well. Communication from their end is nonexistent unless I initiate it. We finally straightened out the title thing--remember--they never told me when to send in the titles, so instead of simply mailing them form Vallejo to Gardena (relatively risk-free!) they were sent from Italy and got lost by Fed Ex. Many phone calls finally yielded the information that the titles had moved to Houston, where I finally reached a clerk who amended the delivery address (it had smudged in handling) and Schumacher received it two days later, in early February, after the cars had been in storage for nine weeks! Meanwhile I had a friend visit Schumacher and put a new battery in the Maserati and start and warm up both cars. Mainly, I did not want the cars to be jump-started on dead batteries with dry cylinders; the cost of replacing the Maserati motor would run into five figures...now that's a concern again, as the cars will have lied dormant from mid-January through mid-May. Another bunch of emails and finally I got a confirmation that the vehicles had been containerized and would be leaving LA on February 24. They did leave roughly then, and I've been tracking the ship every couple of days since then. It is now March 24, and right now the ship with my vehicles is anchored off the coast of San Francisco, exactly 15 miles from where Schumacher picked them up to truck them down to LA. SOOOO... Fifteen miles in fifteen weeks is not progress. That ship is the equivalent of a slow boat to China. It's gone from LA on 2/24 up to Oakland, then to Vancouver, now back to Oakland. From there, who knows where? I was told that it was due in Genoa on April 9, now an impossibility, probably more like May 9th, which means we will have been without our vehicles for 21-22 weeks (nearly six months!)--INEXCUSABLE. A number of years back, I shipped my household container to a coastal city in Brazil in 5 weeks. This time, it took seven weeks for our two household containers to get to Livorno, get loaded, trucked to our house, and unloaded in place (NOTE: DIFFERENT HOUSEHOLD MOVERS!) To put the icing on the cake, we've had to rent a car all this time at $800/month. Additionally, out of naïveté, I packed pricey critical items in the cars because we thought they would receive better treatment and arrive first. This includes an expensive stereo system with an irreplaceable turntable, a $20,000 jazz guitar, my brand new IMac office computer and external SSD with all my office files and website data, kitchen appliances, main car toolbox, and god knows what else, which we have been doing without all this time. I wrote the CEO of Schumacher, asking for a partial refund of $800 to offset one month of car rental and was refused--he blamed the whole thing on COVID, disingenuous to say the least, as the problems were in fact caused by their incompetent staff and lack of communication! So now, it's been turned over to the BBB, which does nothing to reduce my outrage and frustration. Next, I'm going onto EDGAR to find out who their board chairman is, and we will take it to the top. Whatta shit show! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. PERIOD!! read more

Stay away from Schumacher Cargo. I've never felt so deceived in my entire life. I just moved back home and had to ship my car from California to Spain. I was given a quote for $1520 and paid in full when I dropped off my car with Schumacher Cargo. After TWO MONTHS of waiting for it to sail, they let me know that the container was halted by US Customs and want me to pay an EXTRA CHARGE of $743 or else they won't release my car. I was NEVER told about US Customs inspections and had I known they were so expensive, I would have never shipped my car. I stressed the need of going with the cheaper shipping method to my sales rep Kevin Lucarelli since I was on a very tight budget, and he never warned me about any such possible fees. I'm not shipping a Ferrari, it's actually a $13K car for which I'll have to pay total fees close to $3000. Communication has been very difficult. Many of my emails were ignored and had to resend times and times over. If I asked 4 questions, I got 1 answered Worst part is that out of all the shipping companies I talked to, they seemed to be the most trustful. I feel completely scammed and ignored by Schumacher Cargo. Here are the hidden fees I've come across: - $75 for processing insurance documents - $743 for customs exams (their fault, since they are the ones preparing the shipment and did something wrong that caused the container to get flagged for inspection) - 4% of any invoice for paying with a credit card (ridiculous fees for a company operating internationally in 2018) All these should be part of their business costs, and not something that honest customers who are going through the stressful process of moving overseas had to deal with. I regret hiring Schumacher Cargo and now I can only hope I'll see my car again. read more

Moving from California to Europe with a shipping container full of possessions, Schumacher did an excellent job overall. Fair price, an incredible team out of Santa Rosa who did our packing, good communication during transit, and timely delivery. The only issue was the unloading team in France, who were barely competent, especially with a crated grand piano and large furniture items. They arrived with no tools - not even ramps or hand trucks. But the car that we shipped separately was a deception. The Schumacher rep never informed us that the quoted price did not include port and unloading charges in France, which added 50% onto the fee. Nor that our car would sit in port in California for two months before being shipped. Then their France rep referred us to a company who tried to charge us €5000 to naturalize the vehicle. So four stars for their international moving service, but think twice before using their international vehicle transport service. read more

My shipment was delivered in a smooth process. The customs clearing was not troubling, no additional fee paid due to security checking. The scheduled delivery window was delayed for ~30min than originally planned due to traffic, and I have to call the staff to ask what's going on. Beside that the delivery is perfect, the staffs carried my stuffs to my apartment with care, and were very polite. The condition of my shipment after unpacking was also good (I did purchase insurance protection with the company). Will definitely consider their service again. read more

Working with this company added considerable stress, hassle and uncertainty to my move. Shipping a car across the country and overseas is inevitably complicated. But that's exactly why I was willing to spend $2732 to hire professionals and take the uncertainty of the process. I've sent a letter to management explaining that the quote I got was incorrect, I received the same emails multiple times, received contradictory information, was incorrectly turned away when trying to give them my car (they eventually realized their error and accepted it), that 11 of my attempts to contact them were ignored, and that the car was delivered 2 weeks later than expected. The company they used to get the car from California to Hawaii was flawless, they are called Matson. UPDATE: 2 weeks later. I had a pleasant interaction with a manager at the company that listened sincerely to my issues and apologized. Upgrading to 2 stars because he was great, but still had the above issues and company did nothing to compensate me for the wasted time. read more

Worst shipping company. It's been more than 4 months and my car is still not here. They are the worst to work with, they don't even know how to communicate with you properly. Please save yourself from these people an This is my car after waiting for almost 6MONTHS!! And of course, no response from them as expected!! read more

My dealings with Schumacher was the best of times and the worst of times. Everybody was helpful and nice. The guys who loaded our possessions into the container were professional and efficient. Everything went off in a timely fashion. This was the best of it. Unfortunately, there was a great deal of duplication in the paper work between Schumacher here in the US and their partner in France. Multiple inventories had to be filled out in French for both companies which was frustrating and time consuming. But the worst was that we were told by Schumacher that our possessions would be tied up in French customs for 2 to 3 weeks and planned accordingly. Now the French partner is saying 2 to 3 days in customs. This means we're going to incur a massive fee for storage and handling in France while our stuff awaits our arrival. If we'd been given the correct information at the outset, we would have pushed our shipping date back a month and not incurred these huge storage and handling fees. read more

Extremely unprofessional. We've been speaking to Chris about our move to London since the last week of April. Provided him with all the information and requested a quote but we never got anything despite repeated follow ups. We finally received an email on May 8th but it had none of the information we'd discussed on the past few calls. We called again to clarify and request the quote but have nothing yet and it's June 2nd now! Chris has no recollection of our prior conversations and on an earlier call also mentioned that he may have messed up our email address which is why we hadn't received an email sooner. He was rude on the last call and now says he's unable to get the June date for our move that we had requested back in April!! STAY AWAY! At least from this specific sales rep. read more

I wish there was a no star option. This company is without doubt the worst company I have ever used for anything. They are despicable. They wilfully destroyed an expensive kitchen they were delivering to me in the UK from the USA. They had total disregard for my property. They didn't follow any of the strict international packing rules. I will post pictures of the $10,000 worth of damage below. Wrapping glass in brown paper, unprotected. They failed to protect fragile corners on the corian counters, breaking off the integrated sink, let heavy items float around inside cartons and threw expensive kitchen components into a box. I was offered insurance but the insurance company Schumacher offered had fewer stars and worse reviews on Yelp than Schumacher. And had I bought insurance? Today I would be fighting from the UK an insurance company in the USA to honor a claim, as we all know... that would have been impossible. I was assured my kitchen would be correctly crated to avoid damage. It was not. Please do you use this company. Steve Blades is a con man and a liar. read more

My experience was terrible. Moving US to Oz. They tried to arrive the day after they had originally specified. Not going to work, we had to leave the place we were in. So then they managed to get a moving truck to our house, but then everything was double handled. Repacked by them into our shipping container. I was shipping a motorbike. None of the required prep was done on my bike. It shipped with fuel, battery connected, and dirty. The packers in the US were terrible, My furniture arrived damaged, books had been packed so badly packed that hard-cover books now had bent spines. Television was packed with stand still attached, which was bent beyond use. Our container was waylaid in China for 3 weeks and no investigation done until I prodded enough times. It turns out there was some paperwork missing from Schumacher. When the container finally did arrive, the movers did not unpack, and did not reassemble furniture. Which I had paid for. Schumacher admits no fault or offers no apology in any of this. I have marine insurance, but a $500 deductible. Avoid and save yourself some grief. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL BE WAITING FOREVER TO GET YOUR STUFF (WHICH WILL ARRIVE DAMAGED) AND BE CHARGED TONS OF HIDDEN COSTS. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND USE SOMEONE ELSE. Shame there's not a zero star rating because not even sure they deserve one star. They ask you to pay the full amount upfront and trust me - once the money's out the door you will be completely screwed and at these guys' mercy. We had a NY-London move (quite possibly one of the most common cross-border moves and pretty straight forward) and were initially quoted 4-6 weeks DOOR TO DOOR. In light of the fact that I had previously done a Tokyo-NY move that took 6 weeks door to door (by ship not air) I thought this was probably a conservative estimate. Little did I know that this was the start of a long and horrible ordeal. The only reason Schumacher would merit one star would be for their team on the ground in NY who did the packing - I will say that those guys were efficient and got the job done. However once our stuff was taken by them the nightmare began. Steve Blades was the representative and while he had been very responsive until the time the money hit their account, the minute that happened, his level of responsiveness dropped dramatically. There was no news for weeks, and then we were told that our shipment would arrive in the UK port on July 21 (our move date in NY was June 15 so that was already over 4 weeks). Their UK agent was a company called Britannia - possibly equally (or actually perhaps worse) than their US counterpart. The shipment was then delayed by two days, and it essentially took 8 weeks from the original move date for our stuff to finally be delivered. Britannia claimed it would take 7-14 BUSINESS DAYS to deliver once our container was cleared. No explanation whatsoever why getting a truck and driving from the port to central London would take 7-14 BUSINESS DAYS. Little did I know that the nightmare was far from over. We were first charged 215 pounds on top of the $6700+ we had paid upfront for delivery to the fifth floor (even though there was an elevator and Steve had said that delivery up to the first floor was included (meaning they would have paid for delivery up a flight of stairs because in the UK the first floor is on level up)). When we asked why this cost was added on - i.e. why it would cost more time and manpower to put stuff in an elevator to the fifth floor vs. manually hauling everything to the first floor - we were told this was "industry standard". Basically there was no real reason behind it but they essentially held our shipment hostage stating that they would not process our delivery until the fee was paid. Having been already sleeping on the floor for two weeks, we were desperate to get our stuff so begrudgingly paid the amount. The day our stuff was delivered, the Britannia guys brought the stuff in. We had paid for a full service delivery (i.e. unpacking included - which means they would unpack the boxes and lay the items on a flat surface and get rid of all the boxes and packing material) and there was even a waiver form in case you didn't want them to unpack your boxes (and waiving any claim for damages to your household effects if you negligently unpacked and damaged something) which I didn't sign. They left about 70% of the boxes unpacked and left. Not only that, our living room couch couldn't fit in through the hallway and so they took it back to the warehouse. Upon calling Schumacher to complain and see what they were going to do about our couch the response I got was pretty much - "it's not our problem". The "solution" they proposed was to pay an extra 610 pounds (330 pounds for a handyman to come and dismantle and reassemble the couch and 280 pounds re-delivery fee which had never been mentioned) - basically equates to $950, which is essentially the price of a new couch. Furthermore, quite a few stuff was damaged in transit and it's been a week and still waiting on those insurance forms which I had requested. Seriously appalling company - obviously would not recommend it to anyone and would warn people to stay away from them. read more

I recently bought an antique 1961 Car through Dk Classic Cars (April 2018). I dealt with Jesper who was very responsive to my emails and wonderful to deal with. I can not rate the quality of my car yet as I still have not received it due to an issue with the shipping company Dk Classic Cars set me up with to ship the car to Canada. They use Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc. as a shipping company to ship their cars around the world at the expense of the buyer. The representative i've been dealing with at DK Classic Cars (Jesper) introduced me in email to the person at Schumacher Cargo Logistics that will be arranging the shipment (Filip).I had the car shipped with Schumacher Cargo from Denmark to Halifax Canada. I was dealing with Filip however somewhere along the way his email "got hacked" and I only received the "quote" that I had to sign and send back. I never received the actual invoice at this point. I was given banking information to send a wire transfer to - I believed this was correct as I had no problems purchasing the car though DK Classic Cars using a wire transfer that was listed in a different name than "Dk Classic Cars" so I figured this was normal. I sent the payment to the information I was given. I got a confirmation that payment was received by filips email address (which he has since contacted me on). When my car arrived in Halifax I get an email with an invoice (first time I ever seen this invoice) I was extremely confused so I emailed Filip asking why I was required to pay for shipping again. He responded saying payment wasn't received I went back and sent him our original email communication at that point he claims he doesn't make spelling mistakes. I called to clarify what was going on I said to Filip on the phone that this seems like an inside job and that he set this up - a crook situation he then responded to me saying "his company doesn't give a shit about me". I'm sorry but a company should care about their clients if they don't care about their clients they will not have a repeat customer. I called the transfer company and they looked into the information I used for a transfer I set the name as "Schumacher Cargo Logistics" instead of the name I was given. They emailed me back a few days later saying nothing can be done and the transfer is unable to be recalled due to the fact this doesn't appear to be a fraud account. My car is currently sitting outside at the Halifax port area being withheld in the sun from me collecting a daily port storage fee until Schumacher receives the shipping payment. I was told in the beginning the car would not be shipped until 50% of payment was received, I got an email stating the car was shipped so if the payment (I sent 100% of it) wasn't received why was the car shipped? I have since been in contact with the bank the money was deposited to and they said to try a recall again, we requested a recall however I recently got work that the account they are trying to recall from has NSF so the recall is unable to be completed. As far as I am concerned this should be taken care of by Schumacher and DK Classic Cars and my car should be released and the shipping company should be responsible for the port fees collecting on my car daily. This isn't my fault that their companies email "got hacked" and the same email has since been corresponding with me - seems a bit funny. The money was sent to the information I was given by a Schumacher employee via their email address. I have proof of payment for this transfer along with the emails I have been in contact with both local police and a lawyer and there's nothing that can currently be done at this time. I would not recommend using this company until their shippers get their ducks in a line and figure out what customer service is! This has been nothing but a nightmare VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

If you're one of those people thinking of using this company and are seeking reviews, I urge you to read these here and I will add my own. I employed the company to move from LA to London. I had read the bad reviews but decided to ignore them. I wish I had not. I even asked the company about them and they assured me it was extremely rare anything goes wrong. I can assure you everything went wrong with my move. Firstly the pick up was from 2 addresses. After they had done the first, the men did not want to do the second. They asked to reschedule. As builders were moving in to the property next day this was not possible, or something I wanted. So they were eventually convinced to come, by someone at their base and they did... in a foul mood, repeated how they did not to be here, there was not enough time in the day to pack up (and this was a small 1 bed cottage!) and were generally obnoxious throughout. When our goods were landed in the U.K. We were informed a 'spider' was in the container and they had to quarantine it. I am not sure how they managed to get the spider to talk and tell them he was from my house, but I was told the little fellow was definitely from me and I was liable for everything that was to come. No chance it had been in their van, in their warehouse, in their ship, in their moving boxes, in their container. Nope, no chance they said. To get our property back there would be multiple further charges - fumigation, container rental, container moving fees, container storage fees and on and on. After countless emails, phone conversations and stress, we did eventually convince the company to shoulder a percentage of some of the costs, but it still cost me a considerable amount of money and a massive headache. When we finally recovered our property there were damages. We'd bought their insurance (DON'T!!!) and now we are trying to recover the costs of the damaged items. We're back to endless emails, phone calls etc and no sign of reaching any satisfactory agreement in the near future. Every step of the way has been a nightmare, and every step of the way has resulted in us having to pay more. We are now thousands over the initial quote. There may be a few good reviews on Yelp, but I strongly advise you to take heed of the bad bad ones, and to not take the risk of ending up like we, and many others have. read more

Excellent service from start to finish...Just WOW! My partner and I have recently relocated from the UK to Roseville, California. It was the first time we had ever made a move like this (we had only moved locally before) and we were having a real struggle to find movers that made us feel comfortable to use as we faced moving our lives half way around the world. We first set out reading numerous reviews on various different companies before choosing, and I am so pleased we chose Cos Freight. The team at Cos Freight were always responsive to our emails and calls and reassured us along the way and on the run up to move day. The movers arrived, they were a great team, polite and just got on with the job in hand. They were also totally flexible with some of the changes we wanted to made to things that we were packing. The guys carefully packed our possessions and off they went. We were kept up to date by Cos Freight until our shipment left the UK. We were then passed over to Schumacher's - Cos Freights partner in the US, and the transition was seamless. We were quickly updated about our shipments ETA, we did have a few questions along the way which were picked up very quickly by the reps at Schumacher's, and then we received some great news. Our shipment arrived in LA and cleared customs very quickly. Literally a few days after it arrived. We were asked to provide a delivery form to the local team that would be driving our furniture up from LA to Roseville. Easy to fill out and submit, and just as they said, upon submission of the form, a couple of days later we were scheduled in for our delivery. The day of delivery arrived and they were right on time - 4 minutes early to be precise and again they were a GREAT team. We unpackaged everything ourselves given the COVID-19 issues (the team had taken all of the necessary precautions) and stacked all of the boxes neatly and pointed out key ones - for example the ones that contained nuts and bolts to build the furniture. NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING was damaged! The packing done by Cos Freight in the UK was simple AMAZING, and the handling of the shipment by Schumacher's once it arrived in the USA was superb. My partner and I recommend Cos Freight and Schumacher's 110% - If you are considering a relocation to the USA, these companies are the ones to use! read more

Last month I was deciding to ship my car from Los Angeles to Germany and started the process of choosing a service provider. I had been recomended to use Schumacher Cargo Logistics in Los Angeles to ship my car. Before i did I went about checking out various other companies and came across some negative reviews on most of them including Schumacher cargo. After calling a few of the companies, i ended up choosing Schumacher cargo due to the fact that when i phoned these companies, they were the only ones who answered the phone! I dropped my car off myself at their LA office in Gardena and had a great time there. The employees were professional, nice and friendly. I got excellent service. They gave me a lot of information and good advice. The manager Mr. Damien Shields was so nice to me. He helped me like a friend by email, phone and Fax. The fact that my car would be stored inside in their warehouse until shipped was an added bonus. I also got a nice cup of coffee while i was getting my car checked in! I had a very good exerperience in my dealings with Schumacher Cargo. I even got a lift to the train station after they completed my booking. I want thank Mr. Damien Shields and the employees who worked for me that day. Their prices and attention to my needs made it all so easy. After seeing what they do, i would have no hesitation recommending them to all who want to ship their car. They were totally uncommunicative through the entire process. At one point we were told we would be charged extra to have it shipped to our new home because it was a different address than they had been given. I emailed our Schumacher agent copies of the original invoice which clearly showed our address as being the final destination and asked that she write back and confirm that she received an email. After a week of not hearing anything, I called her to see if she had received my email. She said she had but she was not going to write me back because there was nothing to say. She was rude on the phone and spoke over me. Finally, I got a hold of the freight cashier who confirmed that we should not have been charged extra. Then we were told that we owed an extra $585 because our goods had been inspected in customs and we would not receive our shipment until we paid that money. There were no documents to verify that the shipment was sent to customs inspection and no way for us to see how the figure was arrived at. I emailed the freight cashier asking for these documents and have not heard back from her after more than two weeks. Furthermore, when we finally received our goods, all of the boxes were sealed and showed no signs of having been inspected. After paying our final invoice, we were told we would have the shippers contact us to arrange a delivery date within a few days. That process took closer to two weeks and we were given just 48 hours advance notice of a delivery between Friday and Sunday. I can't say enough about how bad our experience with this company has been. Many other reviewers here have had similar experiences. There is another Schumacher page on Yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz/schumacher-international-movers-gardena-8) where the reviews are even worse. Stay away read more

The shipping was from the UK to US. Regarding the import Custom Exames Fee, the conduct of Elier Matos, the Import Coordinator and Ruth Ortiz, the Import Freight Cashier were unprofessional. Elier Matos: He refused to tell me the total cubic feet of our shipment (23people), and told me that I could not find this figure even the UK shipping company I used wouldn't disclose this information. He also ignore my request to contact the manager. Those would make any customer feel Schumacher is dodgy. Eventually I found the accurate total cubic feet from the US Costume invoice sent to Schumacher. Ruth Ortiz: She just sent me the break down bill and asked me to pay without explaination. She threatened me if I do not pay on the day she sent the bill, she would start Storage charge. She also told me to stop email Schumacher. She gave me impression that (1).she own the company; (2).she and Elier were the only employee; (3).As a customer, we have to do what she wants. Otherwise, your road is blocked with big bills. The way Ruth treated me I felt being heavily bullied. It was horrendous and stressful expenrience to deal with them.I can only give them minus 1 star. Eventually, I find the Import Manager Nick Nikoukar. He gave me very clear explanation on all charges with full evidences. He is highly professional and efficient. The problem was resolved within 15mins.I would give Nick 5stars plus. ^^ I have to give only 3 stars overall on Schumacher unless the professional conduct of the employee such as Elier and Ruth are significantly improved. read more

I have used Schumacher Cargo for an overseas move twice in two years. Both times, we received excellent service. All staff we dealt with - from the logistics managers who deal with the paperwork and scheduling to the movers who came to the apartment - were professional, courteous and helpful. The price was also very reasonable for the level of service. For our first move overseas, we had a number of new items (appliances, etc) shipped directly to Schumacher's warehouse to add to our container. Everything arrived, well packed and itemized. They never complained about the number of items we added, nor asked us for more money even though it required more coordination on their part. As long as it fit in the container, they added it without problem. We went back to Schumacher for our move back to the US because we had such a good first experience with them and because the price was the best. They worked around our schedule to the hour, even postponing the delivery by one hour because my husband was arriving from overseas that morning and wanted to be there when the boxes arrived. The moving team was so nice - they kept asking what they could do for us and were very pleasant to work with. My husband was very happy to tip them, and he normally does not like to part with money. I am trying to think of an area for improvement to balance this review, but the simple fact is, I can't think of anything negative to say! read more

DELIVERED my belongings AS PROMISED !! A BIG THANK YOU ! I recently relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Madrid, Spain via sea cargo in a shared container. I mainly dealt with two folks at Schumacher in NJ. (Chris L.- Sales Exec. and Donna T. - Operations Mgtm.) (a pleasure dealing with you guys) and (Marieke J. ) from Global Moving (subcontractor) in Rotterdam 3rd Party for shipping arrangements for the Europe portion. All folks were personable, communicative, and professional. Thanks guys for making a complex and potentially stressful experience a smooth one! I am soooo glad I made the decision to go with Schumacher Cargo Logistics. Big shout out also to the movers at both ends of the journey !! - pick up in NY happened on a rainy day (they kindly waited until it stopped so boxes would not get wet) and relabeled some boxes I had inaccurately labeled. (thanks to Aleksandar) In Madrid, In less than 2 hours all was unloaded and delivered. The movers (Chris and Mike) upon delivery even gave me location updates via Whatsapp on the day of delivery. They went above and beyond... Thank you for all your efforts Schumacher Team! P.S. Suggestion to all folks who embark on the moving journey is to always send soft and hard copies of any documentation that is required and ask lots of questions to hash out the finer details. Best wishes!! read more

I don't know what is with the negative reviews however, as for my experience with Schumacher, I would give 10 stars - and no, I am not a family member!! The pick up was on time to the minute, the packing crew were superb!! There were two moving men, who were the best I've seen. I had my father's 1970 Zenith stereo console restored and waiting for shipping to Austria along with a few other thinks like ceramics, LPs, etc. but the stereo was the biggest item and concern. They wrapped it so well and with NO extra charge, that I did not order the crate for the piece like I originally wanted. It just wasn't needed due to the amazing job the guys did with it. I was sent tracking information for my shipment by Steve and Karen and their communications with me via email were flawless. Remember this shipment went from Chicago to Austria! All the proper documents were emailed to me and nothing was left to question or chance. The shipping and delivery were always on time and went flawlessly on schedule - AND THIS WAS ALL DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE CORONA VIRUS SITUATION!! The German delivery company also did an amazing job with the delivery to us. Schumacher is amazing and this was not an easy shipment - vintage glassware, fragile LPs, and a 50 year old 300 pound stereo console! Everything arrived in tact and perfect!! Thanks again!! read more

The Absolute Best! I demanded perfection and I received it from Schumacher Cargo Logistics for my move from Orange County, CA to Rome Italy in Aug 2014. Mark Nevile was there for me from start to finish. It took a full day for a team of people to pack all my Murano items very, very carefully along with a myriad of furniture and personal computers etc. Next day everything was packed into a 40ft container and shipped immediately. Exactly 44 days later the container arrived at our door in Rome. A huge ladder went up and all our items were delivered through the 4th floor window by a team of professionals. All the large items were unpacked and placed in the desired rooms, all we had to do was unpack our personal items. It took all of one day for the delivery and set up and they cleaned up all the last bits of paper and packaging. Not a single item was damaged or broken, the Murano was intact. Everything went super smooth and the shipping time was very fast as Mark found us an express cargo ship. Not only that, we received an unexpected refund for some services we did not use! We chose Schumacher Cargo Logistics to relocate our household goods from Pennsylvania USA to Nottinghamshire UK, From the beginning our very first conversation with Cedric Drocourt put us both at ease, with his logistic experience and calm friendly manner We had full support from Cedric Drocourt, Donna Trenova and Aleksandar and his packing crew through out the whole experience. The packaging stage was carried out very smoothly, all items packed securely and loaded into the container exactly on time. Once the container arrived in the UK, there was superb link up between Schumacher Logistics and J.A Coles the removals company in the UK. Daniela was the lead person, who was able to guide us through the port documentation with HMRC and also was instrumental in ensuring the container left the port on time therefore avoiding port detention charges. The container arrived at our home address and all packages were off loaded with no damage. We would like to thank everyone at Schumacher Cargo Logistics for taking care of all our needs especially as this was carried out in the most difficult of conditions during the world wide Pandemic. read more

I had a very good experience with Schumacher Cargo Logistics (SCL). I had to ship my belongings (furniture of 1 bedroom apartment, books, documents, musical instruments, etc) from the US East Coast to Germany. SCL had the lowest cost of all providers I could find. I was absolutely satisfied with their complete handling of my case including advise on packing, shipping times, and the handling of my belongings when they were picked up. The whole shipment process was flawless and SCL took care to provide storage until I had a new address in Germany. All goods came in perfect condition. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience with Schumacher Logistic. The whole process was incredible professional: the personal picking up the goods was great, the SCL partner in Germany did an excellent job; importantly, the phone conversations with Mr. Lonek at SCL were always very pleasant and helpful, and I always felt in very good hands as SCL guided me through the shipping/logistics process. With certainty I would always choose Schumacher Cargo Logistics again, and I will surely recommend SCL to any friend and colleague. read more

We moved last December during full Covid lockdown from the San Francisco Bay Area to France. Jennifer who helped calculate the volume of our shipment and the price was fantastic. She was very helpful ,explained everything ,and she speaks French. The moving team of 3 came for two days , was on time ,very professional , very professional and very nice .We understood from the onset that when shipping by boat the arrival time would be in a bracket rather than an exact date. Also with Covid some added delays could occur , but we actually got our goods even a little earlier then expected. On the French side the the AGS team in Le Mans were also extremely professional very nice and on time. Everything arrived safely and they unpacked and took the boxes away. The only extra fee we had to pay was to our village to get a parking permit for the moving truck.Thank you Schumacher Cargo logistics for a great job ! Yes moving is expensive but so is buying everything again. I thought the price was fair .Considering the not so big difference between a small container and a big one we kept more things and filled a big container. read more

Very pleased with their services! I was thoroughly impressed from initial contact all the way to final delivery. The pack up team who picked up my household goods in Germany were very professional and also packed my goods better than i could have imagined. They packed my whole apartment in a few hours and provided me my inventory list. Delivery took about 3 months but I was relieved that my foods did not have to go through inspection at the port of entry off the boat. The delivery team was able to coordinate with me and my busy work schedule, arriving after I got off of work. I got a 10x10 foot storage unit and the 3 delivery guys were able to professionally Tetris my boxes into my little storage with room left. I was extremely pleased with how they offloaded my goods and went over the inventory sheet with me during the offloading. I highly recommend using Schumacher as your international shipping company as my delivery had no hickups, my goods came in close to the exact condition they were packed and they kept in very good communication with me throughout the entire process. Thank you Schumacher team!!! read more

I have read a lot of bad reviews of bad communication from this company and it is totally true. Email your sales rep and no response. The only way i could get a response was going to their website and asking the chat person and then I would get a email back very quickly from my sales rep. BUT despite the lack of communication this company did great job shipping my very rare car from Colorado USA to Hong Kong. Paperwork went smooth, they took care of all exporting and customs paperwork. Once the vehicle reached customs i received about 50 pictures to show the condition of the vehicle before crate shipping across the pacific. The vehicle arrived right on schedule, made it to the new owner with out a scratch. There were no additional charges from the initial estimate that was paid. I don't know about this companies other services but if you need to ship a car across the world then i would not hesitate to use them again. Just have to be patient with the lack of communication skills, only 4 stars because of that. read more

After "talking" with several international moving companies, we decided to go with Schumacher for our first international move and could not have been happier with the service (we moved from California to Norway mid-pandemic). Unlike other companies that gave me ridiculously high quotes through reps that had zero explanation or knowledge of how they got to the said price, Schumacher offered a much more reasonable price, and rep. Mark Neville also took a lot of time explaining to us all of the steps and processes of container shipping and pricing so that we felt comfortable. In California, the movers showed up right on time, wearing masks, and packed everything carefully and efficiently. Our shipment arrived in Norway a few weeks later, right on schedule, and the delivery process was just as careful and efficient as the pack-up. We had several fragile items in our shipment and not a single item was broken or scratched. I can warmly recommend Schumacher to anyone moving household goods internationally. read more

Relocating to another country is never easy nor goof-proof. Even after several relocations to far off spots around the world - Istanbul, Shanghai, Paris, Singapore, Buenos Aires, Oman -- there is still always the hope that planning, packing, loading, tracking and receiving will all go smoothly with only the slightest of complications. Schumacher Cargo Logistics picked up the UK ball and ran with it to a perfect touchdown! The single large painting that missed the boat when all other boxes departed from the UK was efficiently added on to the next boat by the UK shipper, but it was Schumacher which followed its journey and matched it up to complete the shipment before it headed toward New England. Not a single nervous moment....thanks to Luis and the Schumacher team. Even though another relocation is not currently in the cards, it is on the door of Schumacher Cargo Logistics which I will come a'knocking when the time comes. Thanks guys for a job well done!! Mission accomplished!!!! Joseph read more

Our move from Richmond, Virginia to Wokingham, UK: Benedicte and I were delighted with our delivery. it was made by their UK local customs clearing agent Doree Bonner International - a delightful friendly crew who worked really well together and we didn't know a 40ft "truck" could reduce to around 30ft so we had no problems getting into our narrow driveway. There were a couple of minor damages - a broken piece of pottery, slight damage to a picture frame, a broken glass but we were overall very pleased with the packing Please pass on our thanks to all the team in Nw Jersey, we will be recommending Schumacher to anyone who wants guidance in moving to/from the UK. It has been a most efficient operation ( except the on-line tracking of the container ship stopped in Gdansk, where it still is ) when in fact it had arrived in London on time Again, our thanks to everyone - we can now start our latest adventure back in the UK after 20 years abroad. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Move from the West Coast to Germany seafreight. Horrible packing crew. Furniture just wrapped in paper and boxes lined with pictures with glass covers with the glass facing out. There was not one piece of furniture undamaged and a lot of other things arrived broken too. The insurance barely paid anything because it turned out the packers specified that a lot of stuff was already damaged when they packed it which was not true. They used only appreviations so nobody was able to tell what it means. They also stole a valuable item while packing. Schumacher received all documents for customs clearance way before pick up but did not pass them on to their agent in Germany who was very poor too. Shipment was in Germany for 10 days and if I would not have contacted them myself it would still sit in customs. Schumacher talks a good game until they have your money. Then they could not care less. Horrible experience. read more
