After driving an hour and 20 minutes from Oceanside, I was a little nervous on what we are going to get that I have experienced with cheesy used car dealers in the past who are high-pressure pitch, or try to be charged for these silly "mandatory" dealer add-ons (such as Lo Jack GPS tracking and /or protection film). Or the dreaded "oh so sorry, we just sold that one, but we have this ugly more expensive car over here!"...but nothing like that here. Gio was very knowledgeable and I liked his consultative sales style was also professional. He explained that they mainly buy cars "Green Light" from auctions: the auctioneer guarantees the purchaser (Hanna Autotomize in this case) that the car is mechanically sound regarding the engine, transmission, and drive train. The auctioneer that sell these Green Light cars offers arbitration to the dealer too (returning the car or getting repair costs) if hidden, major defects are found within a 7-14 days. Gio's dealer do charge a few hundred dollars (up to $995 I think?) depending on the car price) that covered the cost to replace anything after their own internal mechanic reviews the car, so that there are no surprises later that would have to be relaced by me anyways. They provided a CarFax for free and an option for a paid extended warranty for peace of mind too. I am really lucky to find this boutique family owned dealer and I highly recommend Hanna.

I waited & got no response back so I texted him & his response was, "his finance team left for the day, but he'll get me the OTD first thing when they open up!" He would NOT tell me if he was a dealer or private party, nor give me the name of the business if he was a dealer. I pull up to the address and then realize it's a bunch of car shop businesses and then he texts me the building/suite # once I tell him I'm there. I walk up to see the car, NO SUNROOF! AND, it has more miles on it than advertised, as 1 of the salesman there is using it as a daily driver, not to mention it smelled like a dirty gym bag, because he still had all his gym gear in the trunk. In my case, the true fee consisted of the $895 broker fee plus an additional $2,500 "service fee," for a total of $3,395. The salesperson I worked with, Sean McLaughlin, misrepresented what the service fee was for. Sean walked me through the calculations and explained that the amount I paid, consisting of the broker fee and service fee, would be applied toward my drive-off/entry fees, including my first month's payment, bank fee, doc fee, taxes, and other amounts shown in the attached screenshot. I did take delivery of the vehicle, and the service fee was not applied toward my entry fees in any way. As shown in The Lease Outlet owner's response to my credit card company, that is not where the service fee was applied. In my opinion, this is a classic bait and switch. Instead of those fees being covered by the amount I paid upfront, they were rolled into my monthly lease payment, with additional interest applied. The whole point of using a vehicle broker was to make the leasing process easier and more transparent. Instead, my experience with The Lease Outlet resulted in me paying thousands of dollars for what became a much bigger headache. I truly hope this review helps the next person understand the full cost before working with The Lease Outlet, so they are not misled by what I believe are deceptive fee practices.
