I'm a 73 year old who wore nothing but Cole Haan shoes during my younger, professional years. Now…read moreI'm afflicted with low back problems and recently wore some hard-soled shoes to a funeral, which was tough on the back. So I decided to look for a pair or two of shoes that combined formality with a comfortable sole. I discovered the OriginalGrands and ZeroGrands on Cole Haan's website. Unsure of proper size and general fit, I ventured out to the Edina store, where I was helped by a wonderful salesperson named Sarah. She helped me find the right size and I chose two pair, neither of which the Edina store had in stock. Sarah ordered them for me (this on a Sunday) and I received them the following Wednesday. Wow, fantastic customer service from start to finish. After some sharpening of my views on what was most comfortable for me, I've ended up with two pair of ZEROGRAND Stitchlite Wingtip Oxfords, which may be the most comfortable "dress" shoes I've ever owned. Many thanks to Cole Haan and many thanks to Sarah. This was as perfect a shopping experience as one could expect.

If you're not a runner, that doesn't mean this store isn't for you. But if you are, I think you'll find all that you need here! (Including those gross sucrose gel packets) For me, I'm on my feet all day for work as a scientist, and I've bought the past 4 pairs of shoes here, and I've had no complaints! The staff are very knowledgeable, so let them know your concerns (plantar fasciitis? More/less cushion? Over-pronated/supinated?) When it comes to the value, you get what you pay for. They're able to charge under market value, but they can still be expensive. With this in mind, they do have a generous sales room where shoes can be ~$20-40 off (I haven't been there often enough to know how the sales change, so I might be off). All in all, I highly recommend this place for your next sneaker purchase, athlete or not.

I want to give a shout out to an employee named Rachel who took the extra steps when an incompetent co-worker refused to help me... I wanted to exchange a pair of shoes for the same ones in a different color and the other employee insisted they didn't have any other colors in my size. I proceeded to pull up the ones I wanted, showing as available on their site and she basically said she didn't care what I saw since she didn't find them. Rachel overheard and jumped in to help, offered to call a different location and then ultimately found the color I wanted in their system that was in fact available and ordered them to get shipped to my house. When it comes to shoes, there are two brands that I love and wear the most: Skechers and Converse…read more I was thrilled to find this Converse store at the outlet and walked in. It was fitting that I was wearing a magenta pair of Converse sneakers. I stared longingly at the shoelaces and keychains that immediately greeted me. One of these days, I will wear those glittery silver shoelaces! There was a sale going on. An additional 40% off the lowest price on all shoes was happening. This store has a good selection of women's size 11 sneakers. It was nice trying on sparkly women's shoes for a change! After much debate, I went with a powder pink pair of suede sneakers. They were originally $70. After the sales dust settled, I paid $19.87. Insane! The best part is that you don't pay any tax on shoes or clothes in Minnesota. Ah, how I have missed that perk! The sales items are in the back right section of the store. Women shoe sizes go up to size 12. I learned that Converse makes sandals, too. I had a wonderful woman cashing me out. She asked how my shopping was going. I let her know that I did a ton of damage and I had only been at this outlet mall for an hour! I let her know that this Converse store is one of the best outlet stores that I have been to. I probably made her day judging by the beaming smile that she was sporting. I had a great experience here. I'm thrilled that I got a great deal on my sneakers. (4)

Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after 30 day return window that these shoes smell- BADLY. I do not have smelly feet. These are the only pair of shoes that I have ever owned that smell. I have followed the manufacturer's guidelines and washed them accordingly. NOTHING, I mean NOTHING can totally get rid of the smell. It's a shame because the shoes are very comfortable and supportive.

I was going to Pacifier to get a gift for my son, but then I stopped into Allbirds on a curious whim, and left with a gift for myself. I honestly had never heard of Allbirds before I stumbled in here. The staff was welcoming, as I browsed their displays. I learned that they're a minimalist New Zealand company dedicated to reversing climate change with sustainable functional apparel (mostly shoes). Into it! I love how each product is marked with its carbon footprint and list of renewable materials. There are about half a dozen different shoes, and I think they were all $98 and unisex. Yes, pricey, but worth the sustainable quality (also, helps that I haven't bought new shoes in years). I tried on the Wool Loungers and was in heaven. They're easy to slip on, the soles are so comfy, and they design is minimal and clean. And they're machine-washable!! Note: This style only comes in full sizes and run small. I sized up from 7 to 8. I've only worn them a few days but so far I love them. So comfortable! Each Allbirds location has a custom shoelace, and ours is Boundary Waters Blue. You get a free pair with each purchase!

This was the first time we had been to Famous Footwear and it was a bit of a shock. The store itself is a mess with rows and rows of shoe boxes and not much actual merchandise on display so you pretty much need to know what you want before you go as "window shopping". There is not good seating for you to try on shoes - if you can find what you want in the chaos. There was a person there who was helpful but in the end we did not find what we wanted and went down a couple of doors to Shulers Shoes which had a much better selection, a better environment, and more professional service. There we bought a pair of shoes and some accessories. I would not go back to Famous Footwear.

During this visit, the manager called another store to learn if they had the shoes we needed in my son's size. Fortunately, they did, so we bought the wingtips that we'd found at this location and drove over to the Savage location for the sneakers needed for school. Yes, my 14 year-old son wears wingtips. Most of the men's shoes have sizes up to 16, so it's pretty easy to find what you need here. They even carry these larger sizes in medium width. My son doesn't have wide feet, so it can be difficult to get shoes that work well with his gun boats. The women's shoes on offer are great, too. Stylish and not all super-high heels. They recognize that not every woman wishes to reach for the stars when she's wearing nice shoes.
