I went Schumer shoes today to get some Tacco inserts which fix my current foot issues. A young directed me to the display. It was not Tacco it was Four Seasons, he said they just changed the name. They did not have what I wanted so he checked in back. While waiting I notice other Tacco products not labeled Four Seasons. So I looked it up Tacco is still in business, not named Four Seasons. Do the guy just shot from the hip and gave me bad information. Yet the price of the "other" insert was as much as Tacco's cost. So I'm think cheaper brand more margin for the store. Another came to display and asked if the inserts worked. I told her Tacco worked but this was an of brand, so I did know I told her I was going to George's and she followed. I miss the Har Mar store! I know it was only across County Road B, but I have some pretty happy memories of going to that store with family & patients with specific foot problems! Now it's me: wide foot & bunions! Brian helped me immensely by measuring my feet in women's & men's sizes (both feet-not just one!). To my surprise, my foot size is now larger & in need of a wide width. No problem here at Schuler Shoes: they carry a many sizes-including a world of wides! He pointed me in the direction of shoes that featured wide toe boxes (more room in the toe area). They didn't have the Hoka shoe in my size (again-FAT feet)-so they had another location ship over the right size & I picked them up the next day. I appreciate that! I think this shoe store is invaluable for shoppers that don't have the "ordinary" shoe size and they specialize in correcting foot problems. I had never stepped foot in a Schuler Shoes and I went to 2 stores both in one day. The sales crew were not impressive at either store and we walked around 10 minutes without anyone coming to great or ask if we needed help. I was shocked to see 3 employees standing around and socializing and not at least checking in with customers prior to this. I took a liking to a style and wanted them after I tried them on. This color was a little flashy and I wanted in black. Only MG location had in my size. The employee helped by trying to call that store... no answer. Fortunately we were heading that way anyway. I had a great salesperson, who went out of her way to get the shoes and sizes I needed, and make sure they were shipped to my home address in Illinois. I love the shoes. I ordered a pair of shoes online that ended up being fairly uncomfortable for me. Be aware that if you have to send them back, it'll cost you $10. I'm not going to play that game. Competitors charge a bit more for the shoes you keep, but unlike Schuler, if you order a bunch and end up returning a bunch, it doesn't cost anything. read more

I made a appointment for Eric the pedorthists and I waited over a week to see him and I received this reminder on my email. This is a reminder that you have an appointment with Schuler Shoes with CPED : Eric at our Woodbury location on Monday, October 7 at 2:00 PM. We kindly request that you are on time for your appointment or we may have to reschedule or there may be a longer wait time. I was on time and an sales person came to me and asked if he could help me. I said I was here for and appointment with Eric the podiatrist. He told me that first of all it is not a podiatrist he is a pedorthist not a doctor and if I was sure if I had the right day and I said yes Oct. 7 at 2:00. Then he says I don't know what to tell you but Eric is not here and I can't just get him in here out of thin air. Then he checked the schedule and says there are no appointment for a week or so. I told him that figure something else out and his reply was that's fine. I have been a customer for a long time and I was in there a week earlier because I did have the wrong date and a sales guy Sean was so nice and said since I was there he had me try on some shoes. I told him that I would be in Monday and I liked the shoes but I would like to hear from Eric. All I can say if you make an appointment you should call first. They send you a reminder so you don't waste there time but they don't mind wasting mine driving an hour round trip. If this helps somebody from a dry run it was worth writing this. My visit here came as a result of complimenting my hair stylist on his new athletic shoes. He told me all about this place and he swears by Philip. I can see why. This experience was so personable, just like the old days for the boomers. I am between sizes and they have some gorgeous shoes for walking and jogging. The one's I got were so new they had to hunt for them. I was looking at the sale shoes and we had the discussion that with footwear you can't go on the cheap. The brand and style I bought never goes on sale. This place is super busy and that was at 2PM. Plenty of sales people and they actually lost a lot of their pt. staff. Until today I have only chosen to spend the time and effort of writing reviews to give high praise to a few businesses. Until today, when a high ranking manager of Schuler Shoes literally threw shoes and an open box at me in anger. ***Intentionally.*** Several witnessed it, including 2 other employees. They as well as a customer told me I hadn't done anything to deserve the manager's anger, much less this projectile expression of said anger. Allegedly this manager's name is Neil Mason (I've guessed the spelling). He threw the stuff at me after we politely debated each other for about 3 to 5 minutes during which time I never personally attacked, name-called, swore, or made any other Ugly Customer statement or act. I can't say he intended the stuff (the shoes within their open box and its contents like stuffing & insoles) to hit me, but he certainly threw them in my direction as he stomped away like a tantruming child as he snapped, "Take them!" This was apparently his way of yielding to our debate on whether I should be allowed to keep the defective pair for free when my initial request had been to do an exchange. See attached pics; they started to fall apart within a few months of my purchase last year, and although they immediately agreed to replace them -- hence 2, not 1, star -- they couldn't until recently due to supply chain issues. My previous pair had lasted 5 years, so I knew these were defective. Upon learning, however, from another employee today that the supply chain issue meant the estimated time for new availability is circa December 2022, I asked to also keep this defective pair (for grungy house and basement chores) since they'd already said they were too flawed to even fix and resell (the words "straight into the trash" were said at one point). These are the only activity shoes I can wear with my orthotic brace, and moreover they'd forgotten to call me in February and it took my finally calling this April to ask if they'd arrived yet. I politely persisted in my side of the debate when the manager's only offer had been to let me have both pairs at a discount at best because this is their rule. I repeated that they weren't going to be fixable anyway, so I hated to waste the flawed pair to an arbitrary rule. If he hadn't snapped and thrown them toward me, I would've added as my last point that I live on an income not far above the poverty line. As I conclude I'll also add in fairness that I acted childishly as he angrily walked away, raising my voice to those in the store to describe what he'd just done. Perhaps this is why it took more than one request for me to obtain the manager's alleged name, but as explanation, not excuse, his little tantrum left me feeling shaken. Whatever, first world problems, right? Generally this store is decent but this experience shook me enough to share here. read more

Don't work with Nick if you know what you want. He refuses to listen, thinks his opinion is the only one that matters and is very insensitive to personal situations. He rolls his eyes, huffs, and complains about customers to other employees on the sales floor. When we complained to another employee about our issues; they told us we just "needed to keep doing what we are doing" to make him listen. If you have questions just ask they are there to help and are really good at their jobs. They also have a huge clearance section in the back of the store. The customer sales representative was able to find the perfect shoe for me on the second try. The shoe was a dress shoe but felt as comfortable as my running shoes. That's never happened before for me. Secondly, the pedorthist lightly coughed twice, excused himself, and said very quietly "I should get some water." One of his co-workers overheard this and got him water within about 60seconds. Everyone who worked here was super well dressed and polite--and I came in wearing gym clothes. I didn't realize its an old fashion shoe store and they take the time to fully measure your feet and find the perfect shoe. I came here with my mother to help her find some wide width shoes. While I had to ask which shoes came in specialty sizes I was happy to see the variety of shoes they had available for both specialty sizes and regular width shoes. There were numerous brands I had never heard of that were stylish and unique. Tanner worked with my mother and I to find the correct shoes. He was so knowledgable on how to find shoes that fit for specific needs. Plus, he was very polite and patient! He made our visit to the store a great experience and we probably would have walked out without shoes if it wasn't for his advice! While I wish the price of their shoes were less expensive they were comparable to other stores that carry the same brands. If you go, make sure to ask for Tanner! I went to Schuler the other day and could not have been more pleased. I went there looking for professional help after first going to Famous Footwear, asking an employee to help me find a shoe that would be perfect for a vacation where I would be walking all day for 3 days, and after the employee said "pick one of these" and promptly walked away, I looked and he had suggested fitness shoes that are supposed to be hard to walk in and therefore get you into shape - probably the least appropriate suggestion in the store. My experience at Schuler's was the exact opposite - extremely knowledgeable, attentive, professional and genuinely interested in helping me find the perfect shoe. I keep having great experiences with Schuler Shoes. A year and a half ago I had a pair of year old Clark's get a stuck zipper. I brought them in and in 5 minutes I was walking out with a new pair, free of charge. Recently that same pairs inserts were wearing out and I stopped by to buy a replacement. After looking in the back the employee came out with a freebie pair of inserts. Again I was walking out after about 5 minutes. Please keep up the great work and dedication to customer service. We stopped by their new location next to the Roseville Target on County road B today. Very nice looking location. The place was empty except for about 5 or 6 employees running around and 1 customer that I could see. What disappointed me with this new location, compared to the Har Mar location, is that not one employee greeted us, or even offered to help. They just walked by us without so much as a hello. We were loyal customers at the Har Mar location, where we were always greeted and offered assistance. Upon being treated like a social pariah at the new Schuler shoes today, we decided to check out Famous Footwear across the street, where we were greeted, asked if we needed help, and even were given in depth detail of their current promotion and loyalty program. We bought 3 pair of shoes at Famous Footwear. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time! I spent about 20 - 30 minutes in store looking at about every display as I didn't really know what I wanted. Not once was I asked if I need help, or even acknowledged for that matter. There were plenty of available sales members on the floor- but their conversations (two guys especially, whose names I don't know) seemed to think their conversation was more important than treating me like a customer.
