It's up in there! Guaranteed, parts AND labor!
Rick P.

In 1985-1986, I watched a Schuck's transmission mechanic reassemble a transmission. I knew right then and there that, even though I was a mechanic, I did not want get into that! There were what looked like hundreds of rings, parts and pieces. Schuck's had a shop in Fremont then was located in the same building I worked in as a cooling systems tech! I saw them at the drag strip in Fremont, racing a dragster! In fact they still do according to Doug at Schuck's in Dublin! Yep. Pictures on the wall decorating the office, drag racing. My favorite auto sport! When my 2002 GMC transmission bit the bullet, I only needed their phone number. I talked to Doug, then took my baby in. I received a phone call PDQ, a day and a half, and was told my truck is ready! I picked it up, drove it home and I couldn't be happier! I had the privilege of meeting Ed, the owner of this institution! He was cooler than I imagined. He took some time and we talked for a while about some history. His shop has been around for over 40 years and there's a damn good reason. You stay in business for over 40 years by providing a professional product. Sold, installed and maintained by people who know what they're doing They care about the long term performance of what they sell. I wasn't looking for a "deal" from any old shop that may or may not be around down the road. Thanks Ed, Doug, and the rest of the professionals that have a hand in the success of your very cool shop! I'll be back in for clutch service on the 2023 Crosstrek when the time comes. Be well!

Exceptional work! My spouse brought in a 65 Camaro to this establishment, and they even demonstrated the subpar work done by the previous mechanics. We will exclusively use this shop in the future!

Stress-Free Auto Care

Shortly after dropping it off, I got my detailed analysis, followed by a link that let me watch the work being done livetime. Thought I was going to end up paying a lot more than I did. 2006 F-150. Never been in the shop. I figured I was going to pay big time... I was due. Darin and George we're straight shooters, so I'm a satisfied customer. My lift that they provided was $8, that's how close I live. And all these years I've been going all these other places? Dang. DannyBoy

Where do I begin? I genuinely wanted to like this place because I had read several positive…read morereviews, and my initial experience with the staff and customer service was pleasant. I brought my car in because it wasn't driving the way it normally does. They kept the vehicle for a day and contacted me the following day to recommend replacing the transmission. The estimate was approximately $9,800, which was far beyond what I expected--and, quite frankly, extremely concerning. My vehicle is not yet six years old, and I have consistently kept up with routine maintenance, including regular oil changes. Naturally, I was very disappointed to be told that I needed a replacement transmission, especially at that cost. I decided to get a second opinion from another repair shop, and I'm very glad I did. They diagnosed the issue as spark plugs and ignition coils--not a transmission problem. After replacing those components, my car is now running beautifully. I appreciate the customer service I received, but unfortunately, I cannot justify returning to a shop that would recommend a repair of nearly $10,000 when the actual issue turned out to be something significantly less expensive. I understand that diagnostics can sometimes be complicated and that different shops may reach different conclusions. However, an estimate of $9,800 is a substantial amount of money, and I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before committing to a repair of that magnitude. Thank you for your time and for the service you provided. I sincerely wish you the best, but based on this experience, I will likely may not return.

It's been a week since I had my car serviced here, and it's been driving better than ever! Ed,…read moreMario, and the rest of the team did an amazing job with all the services performed on my car: * Replacement of all 6 spark plugs, including the rear plugs that require additional access * Fuel induction service * Brake fluid exchange * Throttle body cleaning * Automatic transmission fluid service using Toyota World Standard fluid * Coolant drain and refill with the appropriate premium coolant The team did a fantastic job, and their prices were significantly lower than what Toyota quoted me for the same services. I'm so thankful I came across them on Yelp! I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for quality service at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be coming back for my next oil change and brake replacement. Thanks again to Ed, Mario, and the entire team for taking such great care of my car!

This is my 100% true experience at Bay Motors Auto Repair. I brought my car in for a brake repair…read moreand ended up having to spend an additional $1700 to fix the faulty repair job from Bay Motors. I brought my vehicle to Bay Auto to change my brake pads, rotors and master cylinder. A day later, Ed the owner called me and said that my Automatic Braking System (ABS) module had also failed. Although it was not a problem before (no lights on the dash). I suspect Bay Motors did something to cause it to fail because I later learned that ABS modules rarely fail on their own. Anyway, Ed tells me the part is hard to get and it would take a few business days to get it. I didn't want to pick up my car with a compromised brake system so I agreed to proceed. When I went back the following week to pick up my car and proceed to pay, Ed then tells me the ABS light is on and that I would have to take it to Subaru to "reprogram" the new ABS module. He made it sound like it was no big deal and routine. I paid the bill and had to drive away with a nonfunctional ABS system which means the anti-lock brake system and traction control were no longer active. After conducting some research and bringing it to Subaru. I found the following: 1. The ABS module that Bay Motors installed was a used/recycled part that was purchased through Ebay Motors. See photo. 2. The ABS module Bay Motors installed was not even the correct module and hence could not communicate with my vehicle. (there are two models for my year/make/model - one with Subaru EyeSite safety feature and one without). Bay Motors installed the wrong one. 3. A properly installed ABS module, installed by a trained mechanic with proper tools and the right part would self-calibrate, not needing "programing". Bay Motors clearly didn't know what they were doing. To make matters worse, two days after getting my vehicle back, I was on the highway and my vehicle started shaking for no apparent reason. I pulled over to check my tires and discovered that one of the lug nuts on my back tire was MISSING. This was another very dangerous situation Bay Motors caused. I called Ed and he played it off as no big deal and asked me to bring in the vehicle the next day. I spoke with Ed after discovering he installed a used ABS module that did not work on my vehicle but he offered no solution or refund for the part. I would NOT recommend Bay Auto Body for any auto repair because of their dishonesty and lack of integrity.
