Quality Foreign Car Service

Quality Foreign Car Service

Very satisfied with the service. The words I think of are up-front, honest, direct, reliable, and…read morefast. I had been scrambling to fix an engine/turbo issue on my modified Subaru WRX for two months. Between my tuner and the dealership we came to know satisfactory conclusions which cost me nearly $2,000 to no avail. I called here after a quick google search and spoke with Greg. He recommended a smoke test to check for vacuum leaks which was the next logical step so I was excited to hear him say that. I dropped my car off in the morning of our appointed day and by 12pm I received a call from Chris stating the the smoke test identified the hose leak (post-turbo) and that he was able to fix it. I have driven the car about 50 miles since then and my baby is back to it's good old street racing self! I am so grateful for Greg and Chris's help. Best part is they charged me a very fair rate for their services and did not rip me off. I will be coming back to get a bit more work done in the coming weeks and recommend this garage to my friends.

I took my Subaru in there because it was overheating. They said it was the radiator water pump and…read moresomething else they replaced all of that for a tune of about three grand then it started doing it again so they did a pressure test and found out it was the head gasket so for another five grand they replaced the head gasket but didn't do any of the other necessary things so the car constantly burned oil after that in there solution to me was to put a heavier weight oil so it didn't burn as fast. Needless to say about four months later because of all the engine oil burning and everything the engine finally seized at 88,000 miles. I wouldn't take a matchbox car to get repaired there.

Fine mechanics took the chance to stick it to somebody that had no idea what they had giving them a very confusing expensive option, then started trying to charge him 50 bucks a day storage after what they knew would happen not being able to pay the repair bills or the storage fees they gladly took the car resulting in the kid having a sign over the title. Bingo bango Nice Nissan cube with an easy fix that they'll probably make a bunch of money on. Now the kids out the 5 grand they paid for that car not very long ago. Trying to save up again to buy a good car hopefully not get taken advantage of.

Henry, who must be the proprietor despite the name of the shop, is an old-school grease monkey who is plain-spoken and quick with a quip. He and his crew are thorough, polite and efficient. Here is the caveat: you are paying a premium for the service and "staying local," as the term is used. In other words, an oil change may cost a bit more at Sol's that. A Quick-Lube chain shop. That premium becomes pro rata higher as the repair becomes more expensive. I believe in supporting local business, and I am very loyal to Sol's, but the last time I went in and learned the a/c compressor needed replacement on my Lincoln, it would have been between $600-$1,000 more at Sol's than other shops nearby. (Sol's was $2,250; I found competitors charging anywhere from $1,350-$1,750.)

It is really hard to find a good, reliable mechanic who you can trust. Mark and the TLC mechanics were able to identify the problem and source parts within a few hours of drop off, and I was back on the road the next day. Mark did a great job of keeping me informed on the progress of my repair, offered contacts on where to find a discounted rental if I needed, and answered all questions regarding possible alternatives to radiator replacement. When it comes to price - I did my due diligence and called around to see what a similar repair would cost elsewhere. TLC came in 35% lower than the dealership. I'm very happy with the service and will be returning to TLC for future car repairs.

I recently had my vehicle serviced here. While the repair itself was completed, I was very…read moredisappointed with the communication and customer service throughout the process. A straightforward question about arranging service turned into an unnecessarily confrontational and combative interaction on more than one occasion. I later contacted the owner to address my concerns. His response focused on the timing of the vehicle's arrival and the impact on the technicians, as well as the possibility that there had been a misunderstanding regarding the towing company's guidelines, which was not the case. My concerns about the way I was treated during the interaction were never addressed, nor was my subsequent follow-up acknowledged at all. Since that interaction, I have received two additional messages in less than 24 hours regarding pickup of my vehicle, both requesting a callback. This level of repeated contact was not part of my prior interactions with the shop and was completely unnecessary. One call providing the repair information, estimated cost, and pickup details should have been sufficient. Good automotive service isn't just about completing the repair. Customers should also be treated with courtesy and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this business. If you value courtesy, professionalism, respect and restraint, then choose another shop.
