It was a tough decision, but I didn't want to be a jerk. The problem is mainly getting service. Getting them to return calls. Getting them to follow through. Every time I call, I get a friendly person who sounds like he's "on it", but never follows through. I have to call again and again and again. They're "short staffed". They've been "short staffed" for 5 years; it's their go-to excuse for everything. I've been told they ordered parts for my New Holland and it would take X amount of days to come, they'll call me when it's in. Weeks pass with no response and well-past the date quoted. When I call there's an excuse (always) it's back ordered. Still no call, until I call them weeks later again, only to find out part came in weeks ago and still the tractor isn't fixed, but they'll get right to it, though they're short staffed. I've been chasing them over my mower belt that keeps popping off or breaking. The friendly guy is always going to send somebody out that day. They've already "fixed the problem" twice; replaced an expensive part, only to have the problem occur again within a month. Came out to my house after several calls with promises to get back to me, but don't, and replaced another broken belt and tried to find out why it keeps popping off; can't locate problem. Now it's popped off once more and we're doing the "short staff/somebody's -coming-out, but-doesn't/will-call-you-back-but-don't merry-go-round. Exasperated, I called the "friendly" guy in service and he was going to make a quick phone call regarding getting my belt put on, and would call me back ("I PROMISE") in 5 (five!) minutes. I waited. And waited. It's right now 15 hours and still no call back. I've learned the ONLY way to get somebody out is to go into the shop, look a human in the face and get an appt./answer right there. Who has time for that. That's why we have phones. I'm done. Just hang a banner across the store front saying "We Don't Want Your Business!! and WE DON'T CARE!!". So now I just got off the phone with Kubota, from whom I bought a GREAT riding mower. In two days I have a solid appointment for service at my home as well as having my belt put back on and a thorough trouble-shooting inspection to locate the problem. They always return calls, have knowledgeable, very friendly service people, and are always straight forward and are very efficient. If they say it's going to take 2 weeks or a month, that's what it takes. If they say they'll call me back before noon, they call back before noon, with apologies it took so long. AND they aren't chronically "SHORT STAFFED". I've been dealing with Kubota for 4 years and it's smooth as butter on a warm day. There's a reason they have a thriving business with plenty of staff.

They wouldn't help at all. I wanted a $60.99 refund for not defining the part was two part. So stupid. You can't have one side and not the other. These guys aren't even open on the weekends!! I don't know how they stay in business. It was a 30,000 mile check up!! So I called on a Monday to complain. I was told Nicholas would research it and get back to me. I recently brought my pickup to BOR to have my catalytic converters replaced. My check engine light…read morekept popping up for that issue. The staff at BOR were very receptive and responsive to my needs and arranged to replace my converters. Unfortunately, after all their hard work my check engine light came back. It turns out that when BOR discussed my repair options I opted for the cheap route and asked them to buy aftermarket converters. When I came back they found an exhaust leak and fixed that, and the light came back a second time I relented and asked them to get OEM converters. The OEM converters fixed the problem and my pickup is running great again! I have nothing but praise for how BOR worked with me, accommodated all my choices, and bent over backwards to help me get my truck working.

More Like Better Off Somewhere Else…read more I brought my 2002 Suburban Z71 to Better Off-Road with a clear, detailed diagnostic summary--11 specific issues, complete with history, symptoms, and codes. I gave them every benefit of the doubt. What I got in return was a $10,000 engine replacement estimate and a lazy guess. After eight full days of silence, they finally looked at the truck and performed a basic compression test. They found low readings on two cylinders and immediately recommended a full engine swap. No leak-down test. No spark plug inspection. No timing verification. Just a vague shrug and a five-figure solution. Here's the kicker: * They performed the wrong test first * Then charged again to do the right one * That's double billing for diagnostic failure A leak-down test is the industry standard when compression is low--it tells you why it's low. They didn't perform one until I hounded them. That's not oversight. That's negligence. When I finally arranged a tow to get it out of there on October 22, they refused to release the vehicle until I paid. Fair enough--but their phones were "offline for two days," yet their voicemail worked. Convenient. Then they charged me a 3% fee for using a Visa card. That's not standard. That's gouging. The technician who texted me couldn't write a coherent sentence. His diagnosis read like a fifth-grade book report. I wouldn't trust this shop to change a bicycle tire, let alone diagnose a complex engine issue. Bottom line: * They ignored a detailed diagnostic roadmap * They charged for incomplete diagnostics * They double-billed for doing it right * They stalled communication for eight days * They misrepresented fees * They showed zero professionalism I paid the bill because I honor my commitments. I am writing this on behalf of my mother in law. She has been a long time customer here and never…read morequestioned the service. She recently brought her car in for an oil change and they brought up a few other items that she should take care of, one of them being her brakes. The CSR gave her a form that listed she needed pads, rotors, and calipers to the tune of +/- $1,800. Thankfully my son was with his grandma and the suggestion of calipers struck him as odd. I am a mechanic so they had me take a look at the information provided. The Burlington Automotives mechanic that did the inspection on her car did call out her brake pads(and a few other small service items), but did not call out rotors or calipers. I did a brake job on her car and, indeed, it only needed pads with the rotors being perfectly smooth and within spec. The calipers were also in great shape with the dust seals still attached, no cracks or anything like that. We went to talk with Louis, the Store Manager, and he first said that pads and rotors are often changed together and thought it was weird the mechanic didn't call out the rotors. I stated it was because the rotors are fine. I asked about calipers and he went into a story about them potentially seizing if there is wear, again, not called out by the mechanic and the dust seals are in great shape. He then said that the CSR was "new" which is a cop out. If the person is "new", they should have oversight and that still doesn't explain how the mechanic got it right and the CSR got it wrong. When I asked what thier policy is for the hand off of information, he said the CSR should take exactly what the mechanic says BUT rotors and pads go together because It can cause uneven wear, we also dont turn rotors, we just go new. It is a real shame because this sort of things gives all mechanics a bad name. To be clear, the actual mechanic's report was on point and I think he was a fine mechanic. The CSR and Store Manager, though, should be ashamed of themselves At the end of the day, they tried to screw an old lady out of a bunch of money. Louis barely apologized, trying to make every excuse he could to get out of admitting they wronged her. They didn't have her best interest in mind.... do they have yours?
