It KILLS me to leave such a poor review of this place. My expectations were so high and really thought this was going to be great experience. Unfortunately, it was a huge let down. I think the main reason I was so disappointed in this was that it was NOT a cooking class. I have no idea how to make any of things that were created. When we arrived, and the main chef described it as "45 minutes of chaos". He was not wrong. The two chefs had set up stations around the room where all the different dishes would be made all at the same time. This resulted a factory type setting. I can see this being okay in a smaller group; everyone would have the freedom to move around and learn a bit from each. However, with 18 or so people taking the class, it was a massive failure. About 6 people were assigned to do slightly interesting things and the rest of us were instructed to chop vegetables. We tried to move around, but due to the number of students, it really wasn't possible. Eventually we were helping to stuff these Lebanese meat pies. The female instructor (her name has escaped me) came over and berated the group that these "were NOT empanadas". Um sorry? No one had even showed us what we were supposed to be doing. I love Lebanese food, but what was created was sub-par at best. There were a few bright spots, but the main dishes were heavy and greasy. Additionally, when asked if we should remove the skin from the eggplant, one of the instructors explicitly told us not to. What a mistake! It ended up being inedible. In the end, it felt like my boyfriend had paid $160 for a bad Lebanese meal that we played no part in making. The other patrons were great and made the evening enjoyable, but they were really the only thing. The main instructor was very funny and personable, but unfortunately his class a big dud. read more
